And so the date is locked down, the release is soon upon us, and it's time to get hype.

Of course, if honor doesn't sway your mercenary heart... Let's talk money.

Have been playing the beta on and off the last few months:

It's mostly quite good - my only caveat being they have stupid 'abilities' for the mech pilots and several that are borderline game breaking and have entirely too much influence on the match.  I haven't played in a while so I'm not sure if they have been nerfed/etc.

Example, one of your pilots at the beginning of a turn might be able to use a 'sensor lock' ability to reveal a fast-moving light mech, and additionally remove their speed buffs (their dodge %) they might have been using if sprinting.  So now you have a small, squishy light mech totally revealed with a now low dodge % about to get shit on and instagibbed by an entire team.  If your lineup relies on scouting or long range anything, adios.

But for the most part yea I think single player is gonna be super fun and multi will be good if they can tune it right. yay!

Not going to care about the multiplayer at all. I'm in this to absolutely stomp on the NancyPCs until they cry for the mercy of death. Make things as overpowered as you want, I'm so in.

Way ahead of you. Not gonna lie, I briefly considered rubbing one out when I got the Backerkit mail.

PC Gamer review seems to bear out our hype.

It's out in about three hours at the time of writing.

Hopefully it's a prosperous venture. What's good for HBS is good for me.  :cube:

It's second on Global Best Sellers on Steam, right under Frostpunk. Pretty sure given the massively successful Kickstarter and Global Top Seller now, it'll be very profitable for HBS. As it should be, HBS is behind some of my favorite stuff of all time.

Well, three-four hours in, lots of stompy bots killed, one Mechwarrior lost in a most brutal fashion and the mercenary life is well and truly on its way. I'll admit, I'm getting my ass kicked in the weirdest ways occasionally, as this game seems to have a heftier learning curve than XCOM and an Eve-like impenetrability in mechanics/UI sometimes, but I'm having a blast.

The story missions are enjoyable, the voiced enemies are delightfully menacing and I have bad guys I can't fucking wait to find and kill in horrible ways. While making a hefty profit in the process.

Full review will have to wait until I've finished at least one campaign, but so far it seems solid.

Won a free copy of this, gonna be streaming it as it’s been nothing but immersive to watch some of my fellow content creators give it a spin.
