has the finger pointing started yet, with people using what people have said in that thread as evidence of things?

it seems kind of inevitable. Like, you can't not know something if it's stated in that thread.

the info is stated to be OOC in the OP.

That hasn't stopped some people in the past, Tiberious.

Not just empty quoting. :|

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

Eh, it's kind of inevitable that that thread will colour people's interactions with one another.

And/or generate more arguing about what is or what is not known IC.

Whilst true, also not an incredibly useful way of thinking at all.

The thread to me basically says that CCP are keeping mindful of who corporations in-game declare they're loyal to when it comes to planning events.

This is a good thing.

This. The benefits far out-weight the chances of OOC-info breaches of trust - for those who want to do this there are plenty of incentives. This forum, blogs, journals, corp-history, etc. A post in a CCP-started tread on EVE-O hardly adds anything to this.

If you have a problem with your loyalty being publicly known, then you probably wouldn't be attending live events anyway, due to how high-profile they are, so I don't see the issue.

Looking over the list again while I eat lunch, of all of the RP corps I recognize on the list, I don't see any whose loyalties were either a surprise or not something already verifiable IC with a little digging or looking around. There are a bunch of other corps I've never seen before, though, but that's not surprising. EVE's a big place. :P

Something needs to be done about the Intaki ones though - I didn't see a single person who actually declared loyalty to the Syndicate - they declared loyalty to the Assembly or the secessionist movement instead, which is entirely, completely different from the Syndicate.

My personal favorite moment in the thread so far has been Mind Games declaring for the Serpentis... and then changing to the Angels.. and then asking for any info on live events to be sent to their main.

Translates pretty obviously into "Tell us where they are so we can come and shoot at everything that moves".

If the thread is threatening your immersion, don't read it.

I think we need a "quote for truth" button on Backstage.
Though in my case it's more a problem with figuring out which loyalty is accurate for which character...

I beg to disagree, you can perfectly attend a live event being unaffiliated, but actually being a staunch loyalist of a sikrit faction.

It could have been my case since Lyn's true affiliation has been made more or less public only in the past year.
