Click.

Edit:

Now I've had time to read it, I've decided I like it quite a lot. Although, (and this is likely intentional) I am struggling as to differentiating between what is said by Jamyl and what is said by the Other. I'm also very curious about the other nations working on purging themselves of Dust soldiers, that seems an odd move. I liked the courtroom politics though :P

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

Interesting. My immediate reaction was "blegh" because insanity, but I do like the way Jamyl is handling it. I'd like to see her actually conquer it.

Also, Ardishapur, Khanid, and Articio got some nice descriptions. And it was nice to see some stuff from Catiz.

Also, according to Falcon this chronicle takes place back in mid-February.

She's gone from drug fuelled lesbian orgy Zombie Empress to St Alia of the Knife.

I approve in this change of direction.

Empress!

Anyways, I read it and liked it. I think that means I've read all of six chronicles now.

There, then, is another reason I forgo servants as frequently as possible. Certain sensations bring these memories flooding to me and I don't know if they are my own or merely some trick the Other has planted in me. Maybe they are memories of the Other, fragments of its dreaming sleep.

I get the impression that they are injecting doubt into the memories of lesbian orgies. Perhaps through the old trope of "It was all a dream". Is this more of pretending that TonyG never happened?

Also I believe this is the first clear mention I've read that
the Other is the real Falek Grange.
Can't remember if there were any pointers to it in TEA, haven't read Templar One.

On the writing: One of the first times in a long time anything from CCP has made me go "WOW".

I'd just like to say to whoever it was who recently suggested that Khanid cloned himself: I owe you a drink!

I really, really hope Jamyl beats the Other. Would be nice to have a stable leader again.

It is suggested even in Evelopedia. Also, while he's much much younger than Heideran was, not being an old somewhat senile guy pretty much speaks volumes.

I did also like Khanid's attitude there. I feel kind of bad that the Heirs - who probably are all masters of court intrigue, even Yonis - were shown as childlike, but as far as Amarrian nobles go, Khanid has centuries worth of experience on anything related to being a Holder and staying alive as a Holder.

About midway through the second version of the story, I realized that The Other sounds like s/he posts regularly to threads which don't directly concern it on IGS. The sort of pointless, third-party, nonconstructive needling that makes the criticizer infinitely slappable.

I can't say I like Jamyl, but I can find nothing but contempt for the Other.

I know, I really want to save her from it. :(

Maybe we can get sent into wormholes to find a doohickey that can pry the Other out of her brain? That'd be epic.

I am thrilled to discover that I've been backing the right people all along.  8)

I see damned cool things developing out of this, the sort of cool complexities that the Amarr faction in particular can go above and beyond with.

I'm still unconvinced that we players will have even the slightest impact on it, or if we should expend an iota of effort to try to become involved.

It's a nice TV show, but my sword is still on the wall gathering rust.
