The LGBTAlphabet Thread
« on: 22 Jun 2013, 16:11 »

So, there's an awful lot of GSM/LGBT people in the EVE rp community, so I thought it'd be cool to have a thread to talk about relevant topics and news and things on.

Such as?

I'm off to the UK's Bi Con in July & I'm finding myself getting sucked into my union's LGBT section. I don't know if any of that would be of interest to anyone here though.

What do you suggest for a topic?

Hook up, etc?

I struck out at the bar with peope of both genders. YAY. Tonight that is.
I'm sure I've struck out with people of ALL genders, though tbh, I'm terrible at identifying trans/intersex (and also I don't give a fuck).

Makkal had roast turkey with stuffing, steamed green beans with almonds, and lentils.

Nice song. I like it.

I always thought the alphabet soup was spelt QUILTBAG these days?

Oh, while we are coming up with links some of you might like Khaos Komix. It's a, now complete, series of stories about a group of LG&T students at a British school. The same artist has a follow up at Discord Comics. That's his racier stuff using the Khaos characters. And he's also currently working on a Parody called "Shades of A" about an asexual guy and his relationships with a cross-dressing kinky man, and a transman (who appears to be an ex of the protagonist).

Outside of university districts, Scotland, esp. the poorer districts, is a place where being gay or lesbian, or whatever, is a lifestyle choice, that is unavailable to people whose socio-economic status is low.

If you don't own a car, for example, then good luck if you choose attempting to be gay in rural Ayrshire.

Casual homophobia is commonplace.

I assume that means the Supreme Court decided to not be assholes.  Great news!

They told DOMA to go fuck itself, yeah, and then said that the appeals court didn't have jurisdiction (iirc?) w/r/t Prop 8, which means the decision to overturn it should stay.

Been having a seriously shitty week or two lately - this news made me feel a lot better.  :cube:

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

Scottish government introduces a bill about gay marriages.

While also taking donations from someone who funded a campaign to prevent schools from teaching anything that "promotes homosexuality".
