Downside, obviously, is that I don't get to RP with everyone who'd probably bring me quality RP if I did. But I strongly prefer it this way.

Hey you can always run into them in space :)

We could count the scope of Interbus's network, at least 13 jumps from the HQ in Ourapheh.
I think it's an error of language.
Quote from: Interbus charter
"...Interbus must offer service to all stations, placed in solar-systems that have a stargate leading to a solar-system that is a part of the program. Exempt to this rule are systems that exceed a graph distance of 13 jumps from the Interbus headquarters..."
^Could mean that it's 13 jumps from the Interbus stations, not just the main HQ as they're supposed to run routes everywhere.

Edit:
Quote from: Corp info
InterBus is jointly owned by the empires, but it has been careful to maintain is neutrality in all aspects. This has allowed the company to fulfill its intended role as a freighter company that ferries people and goods to and from any place in the world of EVE. InterBus has the best stellar charts and station data of anyone, but they guard this information very carefully.

I always assumed that the "13 jump" rule had to do with the problems of calculating routes beyond that number of waypoints. This relates to the Travelling Salesman problem and indicates that, at least in the EVE fictional universe, P != NP.

I've personally always liked the "telepresence" thing.  We're hard-wired into spaceships, controlling very complex machinery with our thoughts and perceiving everything around us directly.  If I can fly a half kilometer long Armageddon through telepresence, then I can certainly "go" to a telepresence bar and enjoy a "drink".

That said, I do respect the channels that say "we're a real-world place, if you're here you're assumed to be *here*".  And, once walking in stations comes out, I'm really really hoping for RP on stations.

I don't RP with people in space much that I wouldn't see in bars. I shoot them instead.

Oh Esna, I still have a corpse of yours... I'm not sure what to do with it, and to be honest, it creeps me out a bit keeping it...

Would a polite burial be acceptable?

I'll have a lot of JC to make then, just to sit them in the stations and laugh at people trying to act drunk. =3

While this is slightly out-of-topic, for point-to-point travel, a full Hamiltonian cycle is not required. Just have a look at any real-world transportation system. Bus routes could be considered to go the shortest route between bus stops, but only locally.

And, as noted in my previous posting, even without the highway gates, 13 jumps encompasses a pretty large area. If we assume that Interbus has some private "merchant gates" (possibly branching out of Yulai or Ourapheh), 13 jumps might encompass the whole Empire and the Syndicate.

Sure, but while they're floating in local in their pod afterwards... ;)

While I don't RP for various reasons lately, a big factor is certainly that most of the places I otherwise would are "you have to be sitting in that station to be there" kind of places, and 9 times out of 10 when I'm RPing, I'm doing it because I'm on a quiet roam or otherwise dull op.  And I'm certainly not going to go 30j out of my way to RP when at any second my alliance could take out a fleet/tackle a carrier next door/have a gang come knock on our front door looking for a fight.  The reason I play this game is for the PvP and griefing opportunities.  RP takes a very distant backseat (think the trunk of one of those 4-row superSUVs).
