supposedly, capsuleers designed most of the Tech 3 subsystems, possibly even the ships themselves.

because, you know, a couple of years of connecting a spaceship to your brain means you know instinctively more about naval architecture than someone who spent decades designing spaceships.
Maybe it was capsuleers working for the big 4, in the carthum/viziams of the world. It was definitely someone like that, because at release the empires started using them in the news almost immediately - for example there was a news piece about cloaky Imperial legion gangs covert-opsing it up in Republic space.

Maybe. But that doesn't seem to be how it's portrayed in other bits of the background.

It's all a bit confusing.

Skillbooks:  "I know kung-fu err umm...the the equivalent of a PhD in six categories of phyics and five in engineering.   It's definitely worth spending enough money to equal a small cities annual GDP on these special skillbooks that only a few tiny fraction of the galaxy has either the access to or ability to use.  Other wise I'd have had to spend like sixty years going to college to learn all this stuff.    No wonder they call us demi-gods!  lol."

Also its large groups who aren't interested or respect the PF forcing changes in the PF.

This, sadly and CCP is listening to them disproportionately. It doesn't help that many of CCP's devs (and the supposed player-representative body that is the CSM) come from these ranks and these guys couldn't care less about the PF. So long as they get what they need to maintain their space real estate and supercap blob fights, they're happy.

While it is unfortunate, did anyone really think that the RP community is large enough to really hold a lot of sway? RPers are always the minority in any MMO.

It's been said before: If RPers want better representation then RPers need to get someone on the CSM. Not just someone who has a passing interest in live events, but someone who actually cares about the PF and the way CCP treats it.

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

The community is far too fragmented for someone to be agreed upon like that, in my opinion. Even during the "Golden Era" we couldn't have found one.

Yeah, we got Hardin and Jade the first CSMs. That's to say how influential the RP community was compared to now. Even CCP folks told it many times, that the RP community held a lot more power than its size let it guess at the first glance. Now that's another matter though.

But yes, Hardin and Jade. Nothing much very different. Maybe if there was actually half the CSM filled with RPers, we could get somewhere.

RPers are so incredibly factionalized, I just can't imagine anyone getting rep status without a large part of the community instantly writing off anything they ever say, did, or were involved with regardless of the consequences.

And Erik Finnegan on CSM 3. His may not be a very visible character in the RP community, but he is a roleplayer.

I'm not entirely sure how relevant it is to the issue, but:

With the Empyrean Age, there were several entities, including at least one nullsec alliance, that were specifically written out of having influence on the 'story'.

I of course, mean Ushra'Khan and their Insorum being written OUT of the storyline. They no longer matter.

But then again, what Minmatar does, in the modern PF? :S

The Minmatar do not seem to get the same vibe that they had in the past, they seem and taste... different. Couldn't say why I have that feeling exactly.

Maybe that they look less fantasy/spiritual and more afrika in space. vOv

Also, I was thinking about it, and this sentiment is somewhat inaccurate. Hardin and Jade got the first CSM by being old and prominent voices on the OOC forums. They, in fact, got elected *despite* being RPers and would probably have gotten more votes if they had not in fact been RPers. Also, Hardin hadn't really been an RPer for at least a year by the first CSM.

I believe an EM member did get elected to one of the early ones running as an RPer (or maybe she just tried, don't really recall), but I believe that was more a feature of low turnout to CSM votes than anything else.
