Istvaan showing me that I am not worthy. That is some awesome work on your minis, I wish I could paint half that good. Warhammer is a game ive amazingly never tried... I should someday, though I hear its gotten very pricey. Still, gorgeous minis, and looks like you have a lot of fun painting them.

For WWII rules, I have used Seekrieg, an assorted handful of free rules found through TMP or other places, and Command At Sea. GHQ's "Micronauts" are going to be the next I try, as I reeeally like the look of them; not as insanely complex as Seekrieg, not as simple as Command. I also have been working on my own set of rules, a medium in complexity between Seekrieg and "bare bones" systems.

And yes, Yamato was heavier than the Essex class by far; on the tabletop, though, I was pretty much talking about size of the models in terms of Length and Width. If only Halsey had left Lee's battleship force behind... Yamato might have met a more fitting demise!

Puny spiky beekeez

Me Got STOMPA.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH

Ahem.

on a more.. reasonable note.

There is a somewhat hefty scaling difference between the miniatures i have seen you post pictures of and Warhammer stuff Ava.
with the skills i have seen you show on paper, i'm sure you'd be pretty damned good at painting 40k things....

tbh, i'd love to see what you could do with the stompa kit... if i ever get wealthy enough i might even get one for ya.
that's some time down the road though.

^^ just in case you wanted to have a look :) ^^

I also noticed someone saying that 2 dreads was enough... :P
I beg to differ...

need at least 4 for a proper dreadmob.

Ace painting.  My black templars look like proper bums next to that.

Love the guy on the far left. "Get me closer, I wanna slice em' with ma knives!"

Very nice painting skills here Isty. How come some of the bases are rounded, instead of the standard squares?

2 separate packages of bikers from different release eras?

Yup. The ones with rectangle bases are over 12 years old. Rounded bases, bought recently.

edit: Mostly done...

40k and its Citadel models have always been a bit pricey.  You might want to consider a cheaper hobby, like heroin.

We do refer to it as plastic crack... but resin is the real killer.

Mmmmmmmh... resin.

Honestly, just painting the models now (the ones I have) brings a wave of nostalgia. The paints have their own distinct smell, and instantly brings me back. It's near impossible to avoid it, even in a well-ventilated room, so whenever you do paint them, you get that iconic fragrance.

Ah yes, the enchanting aroma of unwashed foot and strange chemicals. Trip down memory lane right there.

Just got back from my FLGS (is it horrible the little one requested it).  Trying to decide how I want to do AA in my Ultramarines army...  the store manager was trying his hardest to get me to buy something.  Really need to get permission from the wife and such to start making Eldar acquisitions or something.

my Ultramarines army...

Fucking poser

j/k in a bit more seriousness, anyone here but me and Isty that DON'T have a marine army/plan to get one?

In my case, I have a sizable High Elf army and plan to get an Eldar army if I ever dabble in 40k.

Best option for Marine AA (and Chaos) seems to be an Aegis line with a quad-gun, and a 5-man devastator/havoc with 4 autocannons, and the sarge/champ manning the quad gun. 12 str7 shots should bring down anything.
