My army right now, the Vermillion Wings chapter. They're crazy cannibals. I love them.

Yay, more space marines.

Cannibal space marines?

I wanted to make my own chapter, and separate it from the others. I already loved the Blood Angels so I wanted their stock. I got the Deathwatch book and read the chapter-creation rules. The marines have an organ which allows them to gain information by eating an enemy. My marines have a hyperactive one and eventually they had made an entire cult around it. When a brother dies in battle, the squad-mates consume his flesh and drink his blood to gain his memories and knowledge. They devour their enemies on the field, and are known as Vultures of Callisto (their homeworld).

The halls of their headquarters, the Spire, located in the deserts of Callisto, are lined with the bones of dead battle-brothers. In the catacombs there's a pool where initiates jump in in order to become one with the chapter.

Yeah I think that sets them apart from the other chapters.

Pretty much the point I was trying to make. Also the "Yay, more space marines." would be more obvious through the internet if I typed it as "yay. MORE space marines..."

I still stand by my previous point regarding 40k and marines.

They are Blood Angels stock, of which the bloodthirst has been in their line since Sanguinious was slain by Horus.

Red Thirst = Insane lust for blood

Black rage = Go so mad that they believe they are their primarch and do anything they can to kill whatever they can until it kills them.

It's 40k, and an expensive hobby. I've had marines since I was 12, so I decided to stick with them instead of paying for an entire new hobby.

Though, I wont defend them on some aspects...

That art. Seriously. I hate the art so much. Giant wide chests and tiny little heads and arms. I would hate to see that thing out of armor. I like old art better/

I know how the 40k fluff works, but thanks anyhow. My concern about your chapter is similar to Isthvaan, but I've an example for you;

While I don't recall atm what they were called, there were a chapter of marines once, made from the blood Angels IIRC, that had similar bends; they would stop in the middle of a fight, an ONGOING FIREFIGHT, to nom the dead/dying bodies of their enemies due to /emerging black raging madness. Other marines that fought with them naturally went ::WTF:: and eventually the chapter was condemned and purged as heretics, IIRC. If they would purge those guys, I think your boys are on very shaky ground by now

Anyhow, I'll leave you too it, (nice paint-job, anyhow ;)) I'm just not a big fan of marines and their annoying hype. Eldar->Tau->Sisters->Imperial Guard->rest->marines.

I wish someone'd actually come up with power armor (in any setting, be it Warhammer, Starcraft, Fallout, whatever...) that'd both fit a human being and be possible to move in. So far they all require some extra joints or some serious relocation of vital parts of your body to work. Well, that or be so thin in places that it's effectively just plating them with tin.

They've had run-ins with the inquisition before, but have evaded heresy, but they're walking on hot-ground. Believe me, if I could play as anyone, it'd either be the Guard or the Tau. Space Marines were my first love at 12, then in 2003 my parents got me the Fire Warrior game for Christmas. I had a tiny Tau army, but it wasn't my play style, I couldn't get the hang of them, so I sold them to my Tau-playing friend and he traded me all his old marine stuff. I'd play Guard it's just, we in my town don't play much anymore, save a few times in the summer, we have no game stores or Games Workshops. I also really, REALLY don't want to paint twelve guys for one squad. When it comes to the novels, I love Guard. And thank you for the comment on ze painting.

Mizhara, the Starship Troopers book had some nice power armor. It was actually the first. Also I think that Spartan MJOLNIR armor works pretty well. And Iron Man's suit.

I really needed that mental image while looking at your avatar.

... but yes, jizz. And that's coming from someone not really into the tabletop side of 40k.

My 6 brand new Chaos Bikers have arrived. I have 4 already painted from way back. I think I'll be quite busy over the next few weeks. Planning to run them in 2 squads of 5, one with 2 plasma guns and a power weapon, one with 2 meltaguns and a powerfist. One squad will carry a Nurgle icon boosting their toughness to an abominable 6.
