I've been taking time out from GW myself of late. My Dark Elves have ceased to inspire, though my Dreadlord is the model I'm most proud of ever building and painting (will try to upload a semi-decent pic at some point). My Skaven project has ground to a halt (my scratch-built Skyre-themed Hellpit comes a close second, though it's unpainted). And I've refused to get involved with 5th edition 40k due to issues with the ruleset, among other things.
I had a rather sadly optimistic hope that they'd re-release Sisters in the near future, buoyed by their WD codex and the withdrawal of the old metals, but when they got put out again... bleh. And the WD rules are an abomination by any standard. Special rules don't line up in any sensible fashion, Seraphim have a bad case of schizophrenia (shite in close combat, but loaded up with pistols that make them go up close - wat), and there's no functional reason to take the generic HQ over St Celestine. It's the last that really galls me. I despise the recent apparent trend towards making you take special characters, but when kitting out a Canoness with the same equipment as Celestine comes out to the same price, before you even consider Celestine's silly special rules... sorry, but that's just plain wrong. Damn you, Matt Ward.
Rant over... when they do 6th, and if the rumoured Chaos Legions/CSM split actually goes ahead, I might start poking my head back into it. Until then, I'm content messing with DnD and Firestorm Armada.
