Wulp, having played a tutorial game of the Fantasy version, I'm giving my work in 40k a pause. Skaven are just too much fun to ignore, plus I'd like to have an army in either setting, so as to double my possible matches in my local hobby community.

On a sidenote, my all-Death Company army has scored a victory in both of its games, one by victory points (objective-based game, left only the enemy HQ alive), and one by total wipe-out of the enemy force. Both were Necron teams, looking forward to getting fights in against other armies soon.

25th anniversary of 40k today, if y'all didn't know. :D

I've about 2500 in Black Templars
750 Imperial Guard
1000 Chaos Daemons

I love the game, but am not a fan of all the things necessary to play the game sometimes ($$, painting, moving heaven and earth)

:)

Will post a few pics later

ALSO.  I'm ranked very high in dawn of war 2 multiplayer (Around 3700 rating) and could always use some allies to bring 'da waaagh to the puny 'umies.

Even I have an Eldar army I've never gotten the chance to do anything with. I built it right after the last codex came out.

HQ:

Farseer
3 Warlocks

Troops:

10 Dire Avengers
6 Rangers
8 Guardians (would need a weapons platform to make an actual squad)

Elites:

6 Striking Scorpions
4 Howling Banshees

Fast Attack:

2 Vypers

Heavy Support:

1 Falcon

...you're clearly inhuman :P

I was ok-ish at DoW2 MP back when it came out, then didn't play for ages.  Tried to get into Retribution MP recently, and got curbstomped so definitively and repeatedly that I abandoned it.  Talk about ridiculously hostile community and learning curve.

Gonna get back into 40k this year after a long time without much of it. I've played sporadically since the 1st Ed and now with 6th Ed looming in the horizon I think it's a good time to return. Hoping to get into the tournament scene, too. Tyranids will be the first army to get called into action (despite every one saying they're crap in 5th) and I'm hoping to have an army painted and ready when 6th arrives.

Mortis don't feel bad, it's an extremely small player base and multiplayer at certain levels is the same 10-20 guys just playing each other over and over again.  If you aren't doing matchmaking with a premade team and rolling the dice on a partner its almost a guaranteed loss.

On steam im TakeItEasyMon, feel free to add me and I'd be happy to run some customs with you anytime!

I have been out of playing tournaments for a while and occasionally get a game in.

I buy into the theory that a well-built army from any list will do decently well regardless of the most recent FOTQ.  It really is FOTQ as every 4-6 months a new Codex hits and it takes about 2 months for the min-maxed net-list to hit.

I've been taking time out from GW myself of late.  My Dark Elves have ceased to inspire, though my Dreadlord is the model I'm most proud of ever building and painting (will try to upload a semi-decent pic at some point).  My Skaven project has ground to a halt (my scratch-built Skyre-themed Hellpit comes a close second, though it's unpainted).  And I've refused to get involved with 5th edition 40k due to issues with the ruleset, among other things.

I had a rather sadly optimistic hope that they'd re-release Sisters in the near future, buoyed by their WD codex and the withdrawal of the old metals, but when they got put out again... bleh.  And the WD rules are an abomination by any standard.  Special rules don't line up in any sensible fashion, Seraphim have a bad case of schizophrenia (shite in close combat, but loaded up with pistols that make them go up close - wat), and there's no functional reason to take the generic HQ over St Celestine.  It's the last that really galls me.  I despise the recent apparent trend towards making you take special characters, but when kitting out a Canoness with the same equipment as Celestine comes out to the same price, before you even consider Celestine's silly special rules... sorry, but that's just plain wrong.  Damn you, Matt Ward.

Rant over... when they do 6th, and if the rumoured Chaos Legions/CSM split actually goes ahead, I might start poking my head back into it.  Until then, I'm content messing with DnD and Firestorm Armada.
