I realized just now that I haven't posted an introduction thread.
To remedy this situation, I would like to point out the following:
1. I am a David Tennant fan. There is
no new Dr. Who. The new Dr. Who is simply a myth propagated by the BBC in order to maintain the real Dr.'s identity as he lives a quiet, unassuming life and tries to stay out of history's way in Montana.
That's also how Star Trek: First Contact ended in my mind.
2. I am a Douglas Adams fan.
3. I am a fan of A. E. van Vogt. I am not a fan of Tony Gonzales, despite the similarities in their writing style. However, I do not hate Tony, and merely wish his writing style improves between now and when Dust 514 hits the stands.
I also hope that the tenuous strands of brilliance that I've seen threaded throughout EVE's backstory is not simply the idle imaginings of a delusional mind, and that there really is significance to the setting.
4. I write a great deal of fiction. I rarely finish a story.
5. I am in love with the EVE setting, though I currently do not have a character in EVE. This is a situation that will be remedied within the next two months, however at this time it is unfeasible for me to maintain an account.
6. I am a proud father of two.
7. I feel far older than I am, and act half as old as I should.
8. I'm also a fan of the Lord of the Rings movies, Tokien, and a great deal of fantasy fiction, though I have neglected to read much of the genre in the past decade.
9. I consider myself a Transhumanist, though I think that many transhumanists have an overly optimistic view of humanity and artificial intelligence (and the prospect for both making a better, brighter tomorrow).
10. There is no number ten. It is, like the new Dr. Who, simply a propaganda move in order to make more money off of exchange rates.
Oh, and I used to have a character in EVE who was of no consequence whatsoever.
