You're not paranoid -- lots of us work in related areas IRL.

I mostly use Chrome because, to date, it has the best security record out there in terms of focused testing. Largely, this stems from an improved security model, plus lessons learned over the years from the other browsers that have forged the way.

Opera for the most part. Depends on what I am doing. I have IE7, Opera, chorme and firefox all installed. I prefer Opera because they were always the fastest. It was also easy to dig into the locally stored files and back in the day of dial up you could turn off parts of web pages to make it load so much faster.

I'm surprised someone still uses IE.

IE8 is just fine. Web sites load fast, display well and it doesn't crash all the time like a certain other open source browser.

I'm surprised anyone is still using Firecrash.  

I find Opera, IE8 and Chrome to be better choices.

You be lucky. Seems since Google pulled their developers off the Mozilla group and put them on Chrome that FF has been going downhill in performance, stability and features. For the unfortunate among us maybe the new out-of-process plugins feature (a feature that IE8 and Chrome have had for some time now) will help stop the browser crashing.

I used to revert to IE8 for Youtube viewing, because Flash and Chrome never played nice.

Thank god for HTML5, it is in all ways superior to Flash. I bet Adobe is starting to realize this is a problem for them.

We ran some tests here in the office. HTML5 video was using up more CPU.  

I'm also curious as to how you block ads in HTML5 ...
