Old EVE concept art.
« on: 27 Aug 2014, 09:02 »

So, someone on Reddit dug up a book of old CCP concept art. I'm absolutely loving this, particularly the full-body concepts (can we have those clothes back again, please?) and seeing the little adjustments that went into ships. Also, dat thukker titan prototype.

I see the infamous Civire chin is evident even on the concept art.

I was a little surprised by the art for the Deteis female.

Less surprised by the art for the Gallente female.

Also, laughed at the Gallente male with that grin and that hair, lol.

That fabulous Ni-Kunni female.

There is evidently a thriving Ni-Kunni shampoo commercial business.

Hey look! It's the SOCT battlecruiser on page 44 (or page 43, depending on wether you use the page numbers on the pages (43) or the one in the interface (44)).

I also recognize a hanging long-limb on the page with the fedo, but does anyone know what the other two creatures on that page are?

There was a Syrikos/Slaver hound.

I was more amused by the number of ship designs in there that have pretty much not changed AT ALL since then.

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

That art eventually evolved into the Beta-era original Minmatar Titan (which ever eventually retconned into being a larger, rarer first generation of Titan we do not have access to). If I remember correctly, the lore behind it was that it was a more combat-focused development of the Thukker caravanserai ships.

Yeah, but it was not on the same page as the fedo and long-limb, though, and those are the ones I'm curious about.

Ah. Maybe a Nidupadian Yorak? They've never really had their appearance described anywhere afaik. They're a fish and that's about it.

I remember seeing the art for Jove ships way back and I thought they grew their spaceships biologically because they looked like something out of Aliens or Prometheus.

Also, it seems Amarr men were always intended to look really constipated all day long.
