I tend to listen to one genre for a while, then switch and listen to another exclusively for a while. Currently:

To be fair, that's a pretty low bar to hit.

See, the metal has corrupted your soul. You are planning to groom yourself after death. Clearly you've been possessed and plan to rise again out of the grave. More wholesome music, sir, wholesome music.

Now back to my rap.

Indeed. Actually, in my opinion it has been a great nine or ten months for rap and hip hop overall. MMLP2 is great, Drake's new one is great, etc. As well as electronic music, my other primary genre.

I've heard it's been a great year for metal outside of that new Megadeth album being horrible.

Edit:  I have to say I've been on a kick of older stuff.  Listening to some Meshuggah right now.  Chaosphere.  Talk about bruising your brain while you're working.

I have to admit, I know almost nothing about metal or rock in general. The only two genres I rarely listen to at all is country and the various subgenres of rock. The only exceptions being very specific rock artists like Janis Joplin, Soundgarden, and a couple others.
