I reckon this goes here: http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=74398

You’ve all seen the news. There’s a weird and unnerving vibe in the air. The Empires all seem to be having their own crisis and it’s starting to seep out into our world. Every week seemingly random events are happening. Random violence and random retribution. I didn’t make the connections at first. Now that I do I wish I hadn’t started looking.

-----

The increase in events, news and chronicles you’ve seen over the past couple of months isn’t a coincidence. There is something meaningful happening and you’re all invited to take part. We are evolving and maturing the universe of New Eden and in true EVE fashion you, the players, are at the forefront of making it happen.

What is Uprising?

There is a new and unstable element being introduced to the EVE Universe: the DUST 514 mercenary. The full impact of these new immortal soldiers is yet to be felt but considering the force they project it’s only a matter of time before the pot boils over.

Through Live Events, News Articles, Chronicles and, soon, other avenues, you can follow and engage in the ongoing evolution of the EVE storyline whether your fight is amongst the stars or on the planets.

We’ve already shaken the world. What happens next?

If you want to get involved or tune in, follow our live events channel on Twitter, like our Facebook page, keep an eye on the news stream and most importantly, stay vigilant.

URLs. URLs everywhere.

All the various nulsec alliances are calling for a systematic griefing of all RPers who brought on this outrage.

Theyre going to go one at a time, alphabetically.

"Anslo" is first on the list.

Grideris streams the Dust 514 side of these events a bunch. You can watch him playing on Twitch.tv here: http://www.twitch.tv/Grideris

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

I dunno about you guys, but seeing that they are excited gets me excited.

Although Saede's paraphrase basically sums up the blog.

I am warily optimistic. CCP's big changes to the world have traditionally not been to my taste. I much prefer incremental change for a variety of reasons.

It is true that the dev blog says nothing useful, but it is also true it works to try and get more people interested in live Events.

I hate to be negative about these things, because as we see in the comments section the remainder of the community is largely opposed to any kind of attempts at immersion. I'm just going to say that I hope they make good on their word with live events more accessible to the larger player audience.

Sadly this was my greatest fear (See here, that it can be used as a tool, where you split and incendiary your community.).

As for the live events they have two major problems:

(1) advertisement, advertisement, advertisement and most of all: Advertisement. If I can make a bad example? Yes  :P. See the Swtor:The Rakghoul Plague Outbreak. Totally pointless, meaningless and you couldnt influence the outcome, etc.... But the had a huge plus. A full patch was around this Idea. And the had advertisement IN-GAME* and OUT-OF-GAME. So CCP should if they take the live events seriously go that way to. Meaning: (1) There is a major event X (like shansha incursions etc...) and build a patch/expansion idea around it. (2) Advertisement, advertisement, advertisement. (3) Goes in hand with point two: Dont split your community (even if it is juicy to say: "This RPlers are the reason, that x isnt in the game etc.... NEVER, never split your community (Publius looks at wargaming (SerB, Strom) and Hilmar).

(2) Immersion project. It is almost forgotten that this projects goal was to link in-game discribtion to the wiki (as can be seen on the LP-points). Still I dont see this ingame. I cant highlight this big enough: A EASY WAY TO GET OUR SMALL RP ROUNDTABLE BIGGER IS TRUE INFORMATION. And those are now all there -- see wiki -- but badly linked to the game. The same counts for the live events. That the live event team uses twitter is a Armutszeugnis/evidence of incapacity/pathetic display. It sounds hard, but it is the true.
So I can sum up point two to: Get the immersion project ingame and get the information about live events ingame. How? Tru links, etc.... you even can globally spam local, with a "breaking newsflash", if a event is on its way.

*Thru a new object, which thru rick clicking showed the news and the meaning for YOU. In EVE would be this last point be bigger, as it can have a impact on your play/faction/group etc...

Edit: I had before I left the game an idea about a event, which I try to make with some friends in the west-khanid and 0.0 (low sec, Delve, Querious). A important thing is, that both sites can win or loss. how? Thru different objectives. Our idea was that the Kingdom forces, have to try get a special blood raider (scramble a special blood raider ship and destroy it); as for the Blood Raiders, the goal was to win the battle. This way both parties can go out with a win; or even both can loss... etc.... But very off topic.
