Abuse of the reporting system

Abuse of the reporting system comes under the 'trolling' or as I like to call it, 'asshattery' provision of the rules, and includes:

1) Reporting every post made after one of your posts is moderated regardless of thread, content, tone or the rules and guidelines.
2) Reporting the next five posts by a moderator who has modded you or another forum member who has publicly agreed with said moderation, regardless of thread, content, tone or the rules and guidelines.
3) Reporting broken images.
4) Reporting all or most posts by a particular individual you disagree with regardless of thread, content, tone or the rules and guidelines.

Let me make it quite clear that attempts to intimidate the moderation staff into not moderating you with retaliatory spam-reports will not work.

Ah, done the broken image thingie a few times in the Image Pwnage thread, because they kind of sort of like break the whole thing?

Maybe next time I will question the sanity of someone posting broken links.

You can also check that the image isn't actually broken, and just has issues with hotlinking (as was the case with at least two of the broken-image posts in the aforementioned thread), and mention it in your posted reply:

"Hey, <person>, your image link isn't working right. Can you fix it?"

I'd just like to note that while reporting broken links is inappropriate reporting, the purpose of this clarification is generally directed towards abusive reporting, that is, using the report button to be an asshat, and I probably definitely should have separated out the issues.

I have not edited the original post as it would make the subsequent posts make less sense.

Speaking of this, do you guys like, nuke any reported post regardless of what it says? Or do you try and take into context the post, 'cause, I really don't think any of my recently nuked posts were 'ARGH U MAD/OMG U TROLL', yet here I am, wondering why they went bai bai.

I mean, I understand, I am not as popular as some of the more hard core RPers, so maybe my (maybe slightly trolly) posts don't carry as much weight as Jade's, but...  :ugh:

If it makes you feel any better Usagi I will promise you I have not reported a single post today (of anyones) I recognized there was some emotion involved and high spirits and since I was involved in the discussion I felt it inappropriate to actually call for moderation.
