I guess I always had a bit of a Korean vibe from that blood line. No, I have no particular reason for it, just sort of felt that way. So this isn't too far off the mark from my expectations.

In a similar vein, I'm seeing quite a few people going "What the hell? Vherokior are supposed to be Asian-looking? WHAT?" In their defence, I think it was more visible on the male than female Vherokiors before, but still... *shrugs.*

My image of the Vherokior was more persian than chinese pre-patch, but now that's quite hard to achieve.

And how, pray, did you get the impression that Vherokior looked persian?

Perhaps this stereotyping image will help:

I generally try not to equate any bloodlines too closely with any modern culture (though sometimes there are handy parallels etc.) or race - since I think given the gap of time between now and Eve, particularly in the case of 'race' such things are of severely limited use.

20k years is literally enough time that the dark skin could be a result of the area on Pator where the Brutors came from, more than where their ancestors were from on earth.

Yep. Some level of comparisons are needed for a point of reference, but I think CCP hurt themselves with things like mentioning the Gallente were originally French colonists, for example.

The cluster's been separated from Earth for longer than RL human civilization as we know it has existed. A dark age on inhospitable worlds, the rise of empires, and their disappearance before the current civilizations appeared give lots of time and room for evolution to play with cultural drift and, to a smaller amount, genetic adaptation - and that's not even mentioning actively playing with genetics like the Jove.

I dated a Chinese girl - from Singapore - and her father hated it. I wasn't Chinese or male enough.
Despite the fact I grew up in Singapore, spoke the lingo and the modern vernacular.

I'm always amazed at the racial sensitivity issues brought up by many players.

I was even more amazed that the 'Black Smurfs' were turned into 'Purple Smurfs' in the US because of perceived racial issues. Next thing you know, you can't wear white anymore at weddings and black at funerals because it might be a racial statement. I think people read way too much into many things.

"Political Correctness" was a sightless attempt to protect peoples` dignity and carry us kicking and screaming into this lofty cloud of never being offended. All it has accomplished is undoing the success of integration between phenotypes and cultures and forced us to wear barriers of fake tolerance and keep our minds shut. I proudly say fuck that shit and choose to accept people for who they are and call them what they want to be called. Persons-of-Bullshit would do well to learn the value inherent in conflict prior to resolution.
