None of you have Tom Waits or The Ramones. That's sad-making. :(

I've got your Ramones right here...down on the bottom of my winamp list. They just didn't get random'd.

Impressive.

So about about some Tom Waits, folks? I can't be the only one who wishes he had that voice.

Can't comply to the shuffle idea, since the only things in the media player on this craptop is Metallica's discography and various trailer music. However, I can just pick some random youtube favorites of mine until I got ten of them.

1. Alice Cooper - Dangerous Tonight

Nice first one. Sexiest tune ever.

2. Dope - Debonaire

Not sure why I favorited this. I think I was looking for fight music. Just something angry and violent.

3. Tool - The Pot

Come on, who doesn't like Tool? Ridiculously good progressive metal.

4. Satyricon - King

Norwegian-wrought metal. For some reason it's rhythm and riffs are incredibly sexy to me. I want to screw to this tune. It reaches down into my spine and starts tugging on the most primal strings it can find, reducing me to an animal level. Fantastic.

5. Marilyn Manson - (s)aint

One of MM's finest. Video is not work-safe. Or even prude-safe.

6. Two steps from Hell - Sons of War

I have a penchant for 'epic' music. Trailer music usually delivers beyond any other genre when it comes to that.

7. Metallica - Turn the Page

Finest coversong in the history of music.

8. Disturbed - The night disturbed

The themesong to the story I'm writing about how Gherena met Mizhara.

9. Benny Hill Themesong.

Everything's funny if you speed it up and use this tune to it.

10. 300 credits tune.

Those credits are fantastic. It really shows how removing the 'humanity' from something by obscuring the face, and identifying features will truly make it more disturbing and fascinating. The music is also great. Tribal, rough, mournful and violent. Fantastic.

So, looking over this, I'd have to say I'm a metalhead in general.

Oh dear - shared music library list with the hubby put on shuffle... this should be fun...

We have alot of video game music - so I'll list them but only count them in the ten if I would of loaded them on my IPOD for the car.

a. Final Fantasy 9 prelude music
b. Chrono Trigger song (Hubby's)
c. Secret of Mana song - old 8 bit version too.
1. Duchess - Genesis.
d. FF7 victory song
2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Kokiri Forest
3. Wind Beneath My Wings: Bettle Miller
e. More Zelda music
f. More Chronotrigger
g. FF4- Chocobo song!

I am really starting to see why I listen to the radio more then my computer.... damn... Brian and his damn video games have invaded the music library... so I'm skipping video games I haven't played at this point

4.  No More Love : Shinedown
5.  What's Your Fantasy : Ludacris
6. She Will Be Loved: Maroon 5 (Thanks Hav!)
7. Bye Bye Beautiful: Nightwish (Ha - old vampire larp music from the bar - this brings back memories)
8. Fighter : Christina Anguelia
h. More Zelda music
9. The Ocean : Led Zepplin (Sweet! Good ole rock)
i. Three Final Fansty songs from three different games....
j. A Bit of Happines : .hack Sign
10. Lose Control: Evanescene

Not the most "Intaki" playlist I've ever seen and proof in the pudding of why Jack FM is FTW - this playlist has far too much video game stuff in it.  There is also a distinct lack of Ace of Base considering that's the CD in my car right now.

Somewhere along the lines Cyndi Lauper learned how to sing. I was surprised.

Also, 20 points to Scagga for having Laibach on the list. Best. Band. Ever. (Okok, I'm one of those "music as art" types, so I can't deny I am biased as Laibach is the musical extension of the Neue Slowenische Kunst movement, which I think is phenomenal. Yes yes. I'm a hoity-toity high society person. Sorta. Not really)

Anyway, as most of the music I listen to is not gathered off my MP3 list or playlists, I will pick 10 songs at random that I have been listening to recently -- especially since just spamming skip/shuffle on someone's MP3 list is a bit silly imo since there will be songs there they likely haven't listened to in almost a decade.

But I digress. 10 songs. Picked at from my history file in Chrome based on number of times the bands showed up. ;)

1. The Smiths - Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me  Been getting back into The Smiths lately, haven't listened in a while, this is actually one of about 15 Smiths songs on my history that started with Bigmouth Strikes Again after I listened to it on a cover from Placebo.

2. Placebo - English Summer Rain What can be said about Placebo? They appear almost as much as The Smiths.

3. Korpiklaani - Wooden Pints \m/ >.< \m/ DWAAARF FOOORTREESSSSS!!!

4. Blue Man Group - Exhibit 13 These guys are amazing live, btw.

5. DJ Mike Relm - Office Space 'O' Face (Live at the 13th Annual Webby Awards) Seriously. Watch his stuff. ALL of it. This dude is a genius.

6. Southern Culture on the Skids - Camelwalk Hee! Scots. This was my gf's fault I think.

7. Dave Matthews Band - Dreaming Tree ...

8. A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras I could have also placed Tool in here, I consider the two interchangable even though I know that's blasphemy to Tool fans.

9. Laibach - Slovania I think this one is better than Yisrael. :P

10. Pantera - Fucking Hostile \m/ >.< \m/

Hmm. The lack of Trent on this list disturbs me. Oh, that's because I don't youtube that because I've got every Halo on MP3. . . haha.

Most assuredly a good song. I shifted from Turkiye to Rossiya to Germania in terms of favourites, depending on mood :P

Today, I learnt that Morrissey is 50. It made me feel old. :/

<3 The Smiths, anyway. One of the few bands that made the Eighties bearable for me when I was a kid/teen.

I was a youngin' around them times. I didn't really start paying attention to music until the late 80s when I was in my tweens an' shit. I took to music pretty abruptly though, and have incredibly eclectic tastes.

I hadn't honestly listened to The Smiths in about 10 years. Then The Smiths is Dead album came out, and all the covers made me yearn to hear Morrissey's voice yet again. Then some time passed, and I was in here listening to Placebo, and Bigmouth came on off the aforementioned The Smiths is Dead album, and my girlfriend went "Wait a minute. This is by The Smiths."

And so immediately we started listening to The Smiths, and I was informed that I need to take the time to learn to sing a few of their songs (such as the one linked) because, and I quote, "You've got that smooth, low voice, it's totally what you should be singing. . ."

. . . the things we do for love. ;)

Does the OP mind if we post further music recommendations in this thread? I have a habit of continuing music recommendation threads - both to share new/old music I come across, and get a feel for other music tastes :)

If the OP were to have no problem with that, I would recommend Spor - Electro Funeral
