Taught to stray the world as giants, mindless of our past,
A soul to slowly slip away, a silent, weeping gasp,
now drowned within the throbbing hum of gold engines, it bores,
the thoughts of bless'ed childhoods, just countless data cores.
A sacrifice, a martyrdom, a purpose had been set,
be it by will or family duty, purposes are met,
our spirits sent to parts unknown where Elders dared not guess -
Now to our back they curse us all but to our faces, bless.
So what is this dillusion now that many of us face?
A need to be the winners of the final blessed race?
While light-years broad exposed to us show us a different world,
and in that difference, sameness, as our stories are unfurled?
Will it be Faith that holds us fast to golden structures strong
As countless voices ring to us that all we are is wrong?
Watch carefully your senses now, and what you've seen and heard,
and see inside which voice is theirs, and which is Living Word.
The path that's drawn for each of us is straight, but also dark,
and each of us on Scripture have the chance to leave our mark,
be sure the lesson your life shows is one of righteous love,
For now without the Seraphs, it is Us who are above.
It's we who have the choice to make, the freedom others don't,
and we who shape the worlds now, or decide it that we won't,
It seems the voice of our great Lord is hidden from us all,
So you will make the choice to rise, or else the choice to fall.
It's said the symbol silver bright is understood in full;
to place Mankind over the Lord, and call Empire a fool.
But how it could be understood is different than this:
Who chose that meaning? Lord above? Or men thinking amiss?
Men made the choice, they took the step, for all the Blessed are free.
They spoke the words, they made the laws, they said how life will be.
Think careful on the way of things, and wonder, hard and long.
Which side has the right of it, and which side's in the wrong?
Secrets lie in silence, and in symbols, this we know,
For deep within all of our blood this truth will always flow.
Yet careful now what words you use to speak a wordless thing,
We now cradled deep in space, only to stars can sing.
