I so want to get into some nice discussions and debates on the IGS about the issues at hand and the various voter blocs and how they'll relate to the election.

If RL wasn't currently being a bit chaotic, I'd be all over it right now.

Sufficiently low expectations hedged any real disappointment, but still... NPC empires with a stagnant narrative might as well be dissolved into sov space since players will actually do something with it.

While there's a mutual enemy - eg. Foiritan or Heth - they both hate more than each other, sure. But neither strikes me as the type of person that wants to share power or be told someone else what the limits on that power is.
