How often do you encounter other RPers in unplanned situations ?

That is, in your day to day activities, not when there's a big magnet such as the Live Events.

I have seen some people in space, at trade hubs, but other than that, encountering other RPers by chance doesn't seem to happen very often.

edit: added option

Where's the "sometimes" option, without being "all the time" nor "never" nor any of the specific ways in which you list it being a possibility?

It's primarily been in FW (when I was a crusader,) but I've occasionally seen other RPers around mission hubs or while traveling. I once noticed some familiar RP faces doing the Amarr epic arc at the same time as I was and we fleeted up to run them together.

Aside from the trade hubs, I sometimes run in to RPers while traversing chokepoints such as the Niarja-Kaaputenen jump, in Incursion farming fleets, or when travelling to and from certain notable areas of operation (for instance, running into PIE people while I was extracting assets from around the warzone the other day).

EDIT: Yes, and the epic arc or other missions. I was one of the people Karm ran into doing it once, and I've run into others under similar conditions.

I like the implications of Gallentians being punched in the face by walking up to a Minmatar as they so freely use another person's culture as a fad.

At least once a week I will go on the prowl in Jita to try and draw out rp'rs who either aren't active in the main scene, or possibly haven't even rp'd before.
I find getting new players in this manner makes things a lot more dynamic and generally fun.
So, I encounter many rp'rs in unplanned situations.

Usually, I just never plan to meet RP-ers, and RP on anyone who got under my hand (or warp disruptor)

Epic arc crew, checking in! :cube:

I see people more often when I'm traveling or away from my usual haunts. Makkal is the only person who I really used to see 'at home' most of the time, but now she's off in nullsec so I don't even get that anymore. (I would really like my friendly neighbor back, kfuckingthx.)

I don't have everyone in my contacts list though, so odds are I am actually missing a number of other RPers when I fly around just because I don't have them in my space rolodex.

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

Have shot and killed a few EM players recently. Anabella Rella was not pleased I used a small-gun Maller to crash the frigate gang she was in .:)

I've seen Koronakesh hanging around my WZ, but didn't put much effort into trying to kill him. I know full well he'd only come after me if the odds were in his favor, the evil bastard!  :D

Other than that, I haven't encountered that many RP'ers in space. We're a pretty small minority in EVE.

We've not really seen any in the Gallente-Caldari warzone aside from PYRE and WHG when they were around. I-RED occasionally and whoever is left in the ILF. Virtually anyone else is unheard of, so we tend to flip out when see other confirmed roleplayers.

I like to RP in local, though there really isn't much of a difference between being Shin ICly in local or being me OOCly in local - most of my communications in local are the same either way: comments about enemies in nearby systems, etc. I tend to save the more verbose stuff (and especially emotes) for other channels.

That said, it really tickles my ticklish bits when I run across another RPer in local.
