[Character] Saleha Khashour (Work In Progress)

((I borrowed some formatting ideas from other character sheets.  Thanks!  And, please, feel free to give me pointers to adjust the character if it doesn't seem quite right... :) ))

Blood Type:
Race: Khanid/Amarr
Age: 28
Height:  163cm (5'4")
Weight: 52kg (115 lbs.)
Hair Color:  Black
Eye Color:  Brown
Political Alignment: The Empire (No particular Heir, yet)
Occupation:: Capsuleer
Date of Birth:
Place of Birth: Akar, Hakana, Hakana II
Employment History:
While she takes on the odd job once in a while, Saleha has yet to be officially employed anywhere since her graduation from the Capsuleer program at Hedion University.

Personality:
With a slight streak of stubbornness and sliver of wistfulness, Saleha is a free spirit who still feels the pull of duty to Empire and God.  Her entire life was shaped by the belief that the Khanid should never have left the Empire in the first place, though this was a well-kept secret in her family.  Though she did benefit from the increased amount of technology available as a result, this belief still resonates strongly with her.

Still new to the life of a Capsuleer, she strives to suppress the memories of training with wild spontaneous flights.  Her love of spiralling through the cosmos is what keeps her from sinking into those dreaded memories.  So, she takes any opportunity to play courier.  At least for now.

Appearance:
Though there was a span of time at Hedion University where she had dyed her hair a very light color, upon graduating her training, she returned to her natural color of black.  This is mostly due to the fact that she didn’t want to have to re-dye her hair every time she was podded.  She does, however, delight in just the slightest and barest form of rebellion to what is considered “proper” dress (at least on Hakana).  Her hair she cuts short, and she is determined to pierce her ears no matter how many times she may have to redo it.

History:
Because she was the youngest of five children to a minor Holder in the Hakana system, Saleha grew up drilled in the responsibilities befitting her station.  On the grand scale of New Eden, her position was merely a grain of sand compared to other Holders.  Luck, or the favor of God (depending on how one looked at it), in the placement of her birth gave her more freedom than others.  She didn’t have the weight and burden of being the heir to the Hold.  She didn’t have the responsibility to gain allies for her father through marriage; a sister and a brother had done that for her.  She didn’t have to command her father’s guard; that was the duty of her other sister.

So, when Saleha asked her parents if she could attend a University for further training in the designing of new technologies, they were thrilled.  They, of course, believed that Saleha would come back and bring to them new advantages against their rivals.  She, herself, simply had wanted to get away from Hakana.  True, she was intrigued by all the technology that cooperation with the Caldari was bringing to the Khanid, and she fully intended to study it.  However, she was uncertain that she wanted to return afterwards.  This, she kept secret, knowing that her parents would never allow her to go if they knew of her doubts.

While Saleha had always put on the mask of obedient and dutiful Holder’s daughter, there had always been a slight streak of rebellion in her.  Oh, she was never blasphemous, nor did she ever disrespect any authority, be it secular or divine, but when she began her time at Hedion University, she did things that she had never been allowed to do.  She cut her long hair short.  She pierced her nose and her ears.  There was even a period of time where she had dyed her hair so light that some people mistook her for a Caldari.

And then she was selected for Testing.  At first hesitant, Saleha realized that this was what she was waiting for.  Her desires to leave Hakana had led her to this one moment.  Believing that maybe, somehow, God had planned this for her, she passed the test and proceeded to train to be a capsuleer.

Training was as difficult as the rumors had implied, and Saleha even now tries not to linger on those memories.  But what was done, was done, and eventually she obtained what she had striven so hard for.  She was free.
