Leaving Eve and Doing it Differently
« on: 31 Aug 2012, 11:05 »

The time has come, the walrus said, to speak of many things..

In this case I'm quitting eve to focus on uni work. Not something I particularly want to do, but it does need doing if I want to get an actual job. I'll be gone for a ten month minimum.

So, I've decided that I'd like to go in a reasonably memorable way, and will be hosting a 'Do things differently' roam on Sunday night (apologies for the short notice). Anyone who wants to come is welcome, and we will be starting at 19:00 eve time in Rens. We will move to Derelik to pick up any people who are locked out of Minmatar space, you can wait for us in either Arnola (highsec) or Uanzin (lowsec) depending on your sec status. We'll then move on to Curse, and if we some how make it through there without all dying, then we'll carry on down to Catch.

Ship types will be whatever you like, as long as it is something you wouldn't normally fly. I'll personally be in a billion and a half loki.

The roam will be entirely OOC, but I understand if people don't want to come due to immersion breaking. However, I hope to see a few of you there :)

Things to keep in mind:
This is nullsec, you will probably be podded
Make sure your clone is updated/implants are not too expensive
Leave IC feuds at the door. This is a 'for fun' event.
You will lose your ship. If you have the isk to bring something expensive and silly, then by all means do, but don't bankrupt yourself.

Editing: I'm going to hold this on Sunday instead, starting at 19:00

Editing to add the lowsec pick up point.

I have no words for how much I will miss Kala, IC and OOC. You became my friend, IC and OOC, and I have had a great couple of years. Good luck in all you do, and drop me a PM or mail any day.

PS. I will be on the roam!

While this sounds fun and entertaining, I sadly will not be able to attend. Not only am I flat broke, I literally can't fly anything that I normally wouldn't fly...

Beyond that, I'm sad to see you go but I agree with your priorities and I wish you the best of success! We'll see you in ten months!

Good job having your priorities right, for starters.

Did not get to RP with you due a variety of reasons, so this makes me a bit sad - though this applies for all RP'ers who leave, it also applies for you.

Still, EVE will (hopefully) still be here in 10 months or more when you (hopefully) return, and so will we. Take care, and pay attention in your studies ;)

BTW, seeing as my toon is practically sitting in Rens on top of a load of his less-used assets, I might manage the time to join you on your roam, but I am not sure. 20:00 EVE-time is 22:00 IRL for me. Tad late, sadly.

I did actually consider starting earlier, but the new series of Doctor Who starts at 19:00 eve time and I sort of want to watch that >.>

Very disappointing news, but I wish you the best dealing with RL. Hope to see you again next summer... if I'm still playing by then.  :P

Alain's account has not quite expired yet (Sognec's did tonight), so I may consider this.  That's 3 PM here, quite doable, and gives me something to do Sunday instead of going into NYC in possible rain.   :P

As for something I don't normally fly - Cheetah (as scout)?  Would be interesting, and losing one is not an issue.

Perhaps the new Procurer as a nimble bait ship?  :bear:  I'd be very amused to mine in Null one last time.

Might make it if I don't go out for a drink with friends.
Would bring a Dramiel/Jaguar/AC Thrasher, no Rens for me as I'm a dirteh Angel so pick me up in Sendaya pls.

If Eelis Kiy and Cozmic R5 are any indication, you'll be back. And that gives me hope.

ObPictureMacro: One does not simply quit EVE Online.

Edit: EVE-Time Sunday 9/2, 1900? That'd be worth interrupting my domestic duties for.

Attending on Solarienne - Ruppie/Wolf/Thrasher/Retribution stocked in Uanzin.  WHG posse is limited as we have implanted newerp layers without JC so I will be trying to get my NISYN bods along for the ride.

Nimaatre of TCI/Ganked fame will be there potentially bubbling for us.

Shiny one, which doesn't show our losses. I think Morwen told me we're the only two that made it back home safely.
