I am shopping for a new headset for PC Gaming (specifically Eve).

I have a busted (toddlers can break anything) Logitech G330, which other than being busted worked pretty well in the little cave I used to have.

My gaming environment has since changed (moved from a house to an apartment and my machine is in the dining room now) and I do want a new headset (since the old one is held together with duct tape).

I am currently looking at Razer's products, which while expensive look like they may help cut down on ambient noise (or shut it out entirely).

Curious what others use?

I've been using a Sennheiser PC 151 for the last roughly 10 months. In terms of what you hear, I'm not sure how well it'd block out a room full of screaming toddlers, but it blocks out chatter well enough for me. In terms of what it picks up, I can literally sit in a room next to a running AC unit with the TV on and people still only hear me.

It is a bit pinchy over the ears if I play for a long term, though.

For cutting out external noise, you may want to look into the Turtle Beach X series of headsets. They have amazing background and ambient noise reduction as well as excellent sound quality.

Sennheiser are very good from what I hear (see what I did there?).  I've never used one, but several of my alliance mates swear by them.

I personally use a fairly low-cost Plantronics wireless headset, and it blocks out noise so well my roommate can run the vacuum cleaner and I won't notice.  The only drawback to it is if you tend to sit at your computer for more than 6 hours or so, the headset's battery will crap out, and there's no indicator on it to tell you how low it is, so you have no warning.  I keep a backup laying around for the off chance this happens (really only happened when we were practicing for the tourney).

I wouldn't advise looking at Creative at all.

I've looked at Sennheiser, but finally decided to give beyerdynamic a try and have bought the 'small' gaming headset, MMX 2. It's simple, very comfortable and has a very good sound quality. Also it's german. You know you want german tech.

I use a Logitech G35.  Wonderful sound and utility.  Only complaint is that if I only wear it over one ear (all the better to hear the wife calling and reduce aggro), it gets a bit uncomfortable after a couple hours.

Yea i won Logitech G35s headset by predicting the winners during the AT X that CCP organized on the forum. Still waiting for the package tho.

I never dug gaming mice/keyboards, but you're interested in a pwetty desktop I can surely supply what I fell in love with   :)

Some friends of mine love the crap out of their razer Nagas, though.

I've used the same Razer mouse (Copperhead I think) since 2006, it still works. O.o

Been very happy with the two Sennheiser headsets that I have used, one with a mic and one I originally bought to use with an electric drum kit.

Maybe I should buy one.  I never had a mouse that made me go "man, i love this thing!"
