Semi-retirement of Rek
« on: 08 Jun 2012, 02:15 »

Hello everyone. It's been quite a long time. I'll try to be brief!

Real life has been kicking my ass. My time for EVE, and thus EVE roleplay, has dropped dramatically after I started working at the factory I'm at now (of course a large amount of time is spent with the significant other as well :p). So how does this impact my RP and whatnot? Well, I try to RP Rek as a Minmatar militia pilot. This is difficult to do if there's no time to run faction warfare complexes or really PvP. This, coupled with the fact that FW is ultimately unwinnable by mechanics anyway, makes playing the character incredibly similar to having a second job.

So in short I'm going to be much much less active in EVE, particularly on Rek. I do feel like tying the roleplay so inimately with FW was a mistake, simply because it is a huge time investment.  So I am in the process of preparing a new character that won't faction-corp hop like I did with Rek. My aim is to create a more casual character to play, so that my very limited time on EVE can still be spent roleplaying!

I will do my best to come up with an in-character explanation for Rek's inactivity. Of course, any suggestions are welcome in that regard.

It's good that you can take a step back and analyze your available time and how well you can play your character with what's available to you. Hopefully the new character will allow you the casual RP you're looking for at an enjoyable level without interfering overmuch with your job situation.

Totally down with you on that, though in a sense FW can be less time consuming if you focus on plexing rather than fleet fights.

I thank everyone for the support  :P

I fully intend on staying in contact with the EVE RP community, of course. You all are good company! I've already "deployed" my new character, and no doubt some already know who she is. I'll be around!   ;)

You need to learn to blend in better, I only needed to see one line of chat to identify it as you. :P

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.
