Going for sure. I'll take some shitty job in the next year if I have to, but damned if I'm not there. Just need a reply from CCP if fansites get their tickets sponsored again or not. I'll abstain from the fancy extras, but if I am travelling in company, this year I'm planning to take a damn look at the rest of the country. If alone, well, I suppose I'll have to suck up my fear of really going somewhere alone and arrange something for myself.

75% to go this year finally.  I just won at least $540 in my fantasy football league and got a whopper of a check for Christmas.  Combined with the overtime I've been working the last few weeks, I'll have the money to do it if I book now and finally pull the trigger on selling my snowboard.

Scratch that, make it 90%, I can get a flight to Iceland for $600 if I use my flier miles to get to a connecting destination like Boston.  And after that I just have to get a hotel, which means ~$40/day if I split with a corpmate.

So, who's booking for which activities? (I'm undecided, hence not saying "Come to X". Does it really take them five hours to get back to Reykjavik after leaving the Blue Lagoon hangover party, or is that "people going to the airport should leave the Blue Lagoon at 14:00, while others can loll around for a few more hours"? http://fanfest.eveonline.com/en/events/activities )

Would any of you be interested in doing some world-building at Fanfest? I'm thinking of sketching out and then detailing things like "a particular Matari clan", "a trendy Gallente philosophy", "a week in the life of an ordinary pious Amarrian", "social rituals surrounding intoxication in various cultural groups", with the idea of publishing whatever we come up with for general use.

Very speculatively, if I recorded the ten-second basic chant of Um'shah and published that before Fanfest, could I wander around Fanfest with my phone's note-taking app recording the different variants of it performed by "drummers in the hangar bay" and "drunk man on curbside"?

Edited to say : Er, I killed the thread, didn't I? Will attempt to tone down enthusiasm and do world-building with the usual suspects. :)

I'll be taking a look at the events and planning my schedule out here in a few days.  Currently packing up my hotel room in Buenos Aires and getting ready to head back stateside.  Once I'm home it's on my short list of shit to do.
