So, I found the post by The Mittani I was referring to earlier - it's in his third blog entry, "Bad Crazy In Internet Space". On the 3rd page, he describes part of the early plotting to bring down a titan, then still a nigh-invulnerable inta-fleet-pwn machine.

On being contacted by a member of Red Alliance,

almost immediately we were down the rabbit hole. Much to my surprise, the RA director didn't want in-game information from me; he wanted us to use the forensic resources of our intelligence agency to trace down [The titan pilot's] home address. At a coordinated time, armed with this information, a RA member would apparently cut the power to [the Titan pilot's] house in the real world, and in EVE a RA capital fleet would assault the abruptly pilotless Titan. Yikes.

As one can imagine, I demurred, but the RA director didn't want to take 'no' for an answer and I didn't fancy telling him that I thought he was completely insane. I said that I'd 'look into it', and that's when things began to get really crazy - Kugutsumen got involved.

The latter half of the story is less insane, but also somewhat important - Kugutsumen (the person, not the website) traced the IP of said Titan pilot and discovered he was a CCP employee; he soon outed this information, and the character was shut down due to CCP's policy on Dev-toons being publicly known.

I like the implications of Gallentians being punched in the face by walking up to a Minmatar as they so freely use another person's culture as a fad.

Translation; the RA guy thinks it's important enoug to win in EVE that he is willing to compromise someone's RL situation - this eventually lead to a CCP employee losing a non-company official toon because if an IP trace that ousted him.

How pathetic. This is a good example of why my personal view is to have fun, not absolutely allways win, in EVE. When your aim is to allways win, BoB, RA and Goons can happen.
