Sad that someone would have to pay ~60k to get rid of potentially useless features on their phone.

I don't use my camera. I don't use games. I don't use email or internet. I just use the stupid thing as a phone/address book, alarm clock and a texting thing for when I need it. I don't want or need the rest of the crap. And the fact that nobody really offers phones like that with cell plans is just stupid and makes me want to hurt people. Because I would eagerly buy and use a phone like that, and I know I'm not the only one.

I have a phone that only does those functions, but I did buy it three or four years ago.

The "senior citizen's phones" are available, but you'll need to look for them. You know, phones you can use to call and text, and which have buttons large enough that you don't need a toothpick to make a call. That said, cheapest phones cost under a hundred euros here, so assumedly losing that crappy camera would not affect the price in a meaningful way.

And yes, making things more expensive for the sake of making them more expensive is, well, somewhat tasteless. The monocle is (considering the context of an EVE fan site) a very nice analogy.

Well, I dont want a senior cellphone, I want the same up to date tactile phone without any buttons, but without much more than call making and text writing. And maybe the internet too, you never know. I happen to use it rarely, from time to time.
