A friend and I were just playing around with some frigate 1v1s, and I was wondering something:

Eve ships have something of a stone-paper-scissors dynamic going on with ships. Some ships are weaker to EM damage. Some ships are weaker to neuting. Some ships are weaker to e-war.

But if you *knew* you were going to be 1v1'ing a Dramiel, and you could bring any frigate you like, is there any frigate/fit combo that would wipe the floor with it? (assuming equal skill pilots).

It seems that to counter the buggers, you need to use a lot of mid slots. And as soon as you use some mid slots to stop the thing (i.e. jammers) you compromise the rest of your fit to the point that you either just die in a fire, or you can't keep up with their speed.

Suggestions?

Hookbills can do that, but I think they lack a little of dps to be competitive in solo.

I would grab a daredevil or cruor, maybe. If he does not want to get close, then just kill the drones and piss him off.

If you take T2 frigates in account, then maybe with an AF, a good dps and an AB, if you can catch him at range, he might suffer before being able to escape.

Imo the biggest OP thing with drams is their agility (im not able sometimes to catch them at gates with 4000mm scan res, it locks, but the point does not apply due to client to server delay).

Can also do it in a veng, if the dramiel is stupid enough to attack you that is.

Daredevil gets my vote, if you're a good pilot. Once webbed, then scrammed, the Dramiel is toast. However, the whole trick lies in getting that web and scram on him, before your paper tank makes you 'splode. It's not easy to counter a Dramiel, as they're death on whe... thrusters.

If I wanted to face a Dramiel... I'd probably bring a Dramiel so I could make it a test of pilot skill instead of just ship rock paper & scissors.

Well that is the trick isn't it?  Utilize a ship that the average Dramiel routinely defeats 1-on-1 and do something unexpected with it.

Depends, its all about getting them into 20km, if they ever stray into your neut range they're toast - the td will keep you alife and you have enough drones to win the drone war.

If It *Had* to be a single frigate, Daredevil with a Fed Navy Web usually does the trick. Just bear in mind the Dram Has to be stupid enough to slip into web range.  Lot of Dramiel pilots *are* stupid enough to do so, but the Daredevil isn't all that durable at the end of the day, so Dram will win if the pilot knows what he's doing.
