I don't do much stock in blogs and I don't do blogs because despite what people claim to uphold the separation of IC/OOC, people will still use OOC knowledge in their roleplay encounters. It's only human nature, and it's inevitable.

I'm not entirely convinced about IC blogs.

I think, as well as the tendency towards leaking IC knowledge like a sieve, like you say, there's also an effect on fragmentation of people's interactions with each other.

Characters A and B do something on planet X. Later, in a conversation with other people, the subject of planet X comes up. Character C says something about it, and Character A says "oh, myself and B went to planet X the other day, here's our blog about it". Character C and everyone else is then turned into a passive observer, rather than an active participant about talking about planet X. A and B can say "oh, we covered that in our blog", instead of responding to people's questions in an interactive way.

I have a feeling it reduces the chance of unscripted and unexpected RP interactions with people.

If that's the case, that'd be horrible.  So much of my blog ravings get spun out of unscripted and unexpected RP interactions with unsuspecting people.

I guess it would depend on how you use the blog. But, up to now, I've never seen anyone actually link their blog entries in any EVE chat, nor have I done so. Thus, I don't think it is something that actually happens, or does so often, and thus should suppose no problem to the actual idea of IC blogs.

Not to mention that, if people accept that the reply to a given question is a blog entry, then they deserve that reply. A conversation is a matter of two, so if you accept the link, don't go then around complainig. No? And, before any doubts arise, I'm not referring to anyone specific (as I said, never saw anyone use a blog entry as an IC reply), just to the theoretical situation.

My "IC blog" is pretty much just a pvp how-to (or at least, a How-I-Do-It) and has NO information about Ava actually contained in it. It was, of course, inspired by Wensley's "Rifter Drifter", and people do seem to enjoy it, but most of my readers arent RPers, to my knowledge.

I already mentioned in my character thread, but I started an IC blog. It's a bit crap, really. But there you go. gwenikiryo.blogspot.com

Purely RP - No OOC business to speak of.

...hhm. That's odd. Half the hits on my character blog are coming from porn sites. Is that normal?

I'm not sure quite what to take from it, if not.

Lasa's blog: http://lasairiona-wanderer.blogspot.co.uk/

It's really more of her diary to be honest, personal feelings, etc.

OP doesn't update it seems, but I'll still add my blog to it, Aurora Arcology News , an IC blog about various happenings in the Eden cluster. Mainly about Player events, RP relevant happenings & my Aurora Arcology RP (refugees, come to me!) & the various people that (in)directly contribute to it.

ThreeFiveTwo Kronicles - Come read my EVE Fiction! All posts are presented as OOC knowledge, except where events happen ingame with other players (for example, a fleet fight, or conversation happening in a public channel with other players observing). Also contains non fiction EVE posts and the odd piece of non EVE content as well. Content is authored by Darth Skorpius under the OOC alias of skorpion352.

Deep Space Reports in character blog on what I get up to in wormholes. Note, I won't be putting too much IC personal info in there for the moment it's more about the gud fights. A bit rough and ready as my blogging skills suck at this time but enjoy none the less

Arkon's Adagia is my little in-character blog which features a gamut of interactions (from letters to transcripts to more traditional RP). For an explanation of the letters before each post title see here. :)
