Hello, folks! Seeing as the forum is pretty much entirely OOC I'll drop the Valiren character for now and just put it out there- I'd like to join a regular roleplaying group, or perhaps a Corporation.

That's the short of it, that. I'd like if recruitment/induction was done in an IC manner, all things considered. I think my character would fit in with most, being a Mercenary, aside from particularly slavery oriented Amarr/Caldari societies, which he is decidedly against.

Anyways, I'll check out all offers, no matter how dubious the origins are- Valiren might just take a contract from anyone if their argument is strong enough.

If you aren't famaliar with my characters history he did work for a Amarrian Militia corp but he doesn't use slaves and doesn't condone or support it. Members of PIE dislike me, The Sansha hate me. but enough of about me now, let get back to you now me(Welcome to backstage btw) now you.

After reviewing your character Bio I can tell you a couple things. Sadly there is no dedicaited merc corp for Caldari but there are a few corps I'll recommend.

Ishukone-Raata Enforcement Directive, Lai Dai Infinity System (half industry/combat) are a few State loyalists corps.

Seeing you in Matari space though and you have some need to go after slavers. Ursha'Khan might be a good bet though I don't talk to them much. I think you might wanna check out Electus Matari there total immerision roleplay and seeing as you just in the State War Academy you'll be able to join them(pending corps though and sp), unlike me I've been in corps marked red by them haha.

The corp I recommend is Gradient ( Recruitment Requirements: http://www.electusmatari.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=6948) check out the others though. You probalily won't be able to join any until your older then 14 days (just to make sure your not a trial).

Putting it up here, even though you seem to be leaning against a Caldari Organization, I will note we do not support slavery in any way. I Personally am against such things as it tarnishes the respect and honor of a businessman.

We also have several Caldari Mercenaries in our ranks.

IC we're a Syndicate/Serpentis aligned group out there for profit and the destruction (Or at least severe irritation) of our enemies. Big emphasis on professionalism over yarr. You might've also noticed This popping up. We have a big hand in it's day-to-day running, as well as it's overall direction.

TLDR: We run for the most underrepresented faction in EVE, and we're organized about it. You should totally get involved.

I would point out most Caldari do not support Slavery in anyway.  Caldari just don't tell the Amarr how they are supposed to live their lives.

Caldari State doesn’t support slavery

I seem to recall a mission where the Caldari were running escort for Amarr slave transports, though missions aren't the best source of reliable lore. That aside, Corporations won't always follow their faction to the T, so there could be some Caldari corps that accept Slavery. Was just putting it out there that I didn't want to be a part of it.

Anyways, that aside, I think I'm going to shoot for Gradient right now, though I think I still have some time before I've hit my 14 active days, so I will have time to think about it. Thanks again all of you!

The State/slavery thing is complicated.  Officially the State does not support slavery.  However, there are some corporations (NPC corporations) that sometimes assist in slaver operations for profit, and there are also rogue Caldari groups that do this.  I used to run missions for Lai Dai Protection Service, and I remember getting missions that involved breaking up a slave ring.

Mirkur Draug'Tyr has done merc work at some points but our home is with Ushra'Khan, fighting slavery. We tend to focus somewhat (far from exclusively) on stealth ships and scouting in the alliance.
Lots of gangs in the alliance roaming nullsec regions with occasional highsec ganking, wardecs, lowsec fighting, plus camps.

Just weighing in on the Caldari slavery thing, if you run missions for the Republic, one level 4 mission is fighting off an Amarrian slaving transport, one that ends up being protected by official Caldari State ships.  ( mission is "Surprise, Surprise")

The short answer is some Caldari corps do engage and actively support slavery, some dont, apparently depending on the market and the whims and morals of the leadership, which would make sense.  To give a State-wide ban on dealing in slave commodities would be an infringement upon a mega-corp's commercial rights, which is an anathema for the State. Its worth noting that almost all of them support slavery economically, by buying and selling slavery-produced goods from the Empire.
