That the Eleutherian Guard, a capsuleer organisation, is a semi-independent paramilitary unit that answers to the Federal Security Council?

Capsuleers already ascend to high office. In fact, the current Fed prez is a capsuleer, if memory serves.

Roden is, yes.

Quote from: Seri medley
...wants to make sure there is a Federation still standing when she is old enough
...constantly worrying about their own wealth and prosperity than to have any grasp on the bigger picture.
...During his marine years, Seriphyn harboured a great deal of respect for the Caldari, mostly because of their sense of duty and work ethic, compared to the selfishness of his own population
...Seriphyn is simply serving as a soldier of the Federation to ensure it remains

I see Seri as at least superficially similar to Putin in some respects, anyway.

I like Seri a lot, both IC and OOC. He's one of the best State-loyalist capsuleers around  ;)

The sooner he realises that he's a closet member of the State the better.

If he realises that after he becomes President, then that's even better again!

Seriously?

Time to change me RP.

The only New Eden head of state who is not a capsuleer is Heth. (His opposition leaders, the late Gariushi and currently Reppola are both capsuleers.) Jamyl and Shakor are both capsuleers.

Though it'd be highly unlikely for Jamyl to admit that publicly.

Besides of the "resurrection" thing, can't see why. It might be even quite positive, once the Church has hand waved tehe resurrection as divine intervention, because it'd let the Sacred Throne to remind that the Empress went to Sarum Prime in person and kicked those Minmatar out of her home world. And for all the plebs - and basically anyone - know, she might still have that weapon. (The weapon being destroyed is OOC knowledge IMO.) For the commoners, implants equal high status. The Emperor/-ress naturally has the best implants. I don't know of the current Heirs, but the previous Heirs (including Jamyl) were all capsule-capable. Might be an oversight by CCP, but it's in the fiction.

My understanding is that the Heirs are capsuleers but that they're not supposed to be cloned. Not an expert, though.

I've been using the same interpretation (note: not an expert, either).

This is one of those things I never liked about the (apparent) mindset of some caldari players - if your hard-working, loyal, dedicated, disiplined and if needed; brutally effective, your basicaly caldari.

I disagree. It's perfectly possible to be all of those things and be loyal to the Fed, Republic or even the empire. I imagine that a tradition-heavy Imperial Navy that has been around for millenia demand those things from their enlisted people far more so than the caldari, who have been around in their own navy the least ammount of time, comperably. The Fed too would demand this - a nation that grew to be the second-biggest in such a short time would have to get a competent military from somewhere. Sadly, it seems many don't realize this and think the caldari are the only ones with hell-bent and effective soldiers.

I could ofc be wrong here. I could have missed something - also if you were merely pulling Seris leg, you were doing a poor job, imho.

Anyhow... staying on topic - not much to say about this, other than that I agree mostly with seri's RP on the Fed.
