RP-lite is a must for certain types of corps or alliances. It is nearly impossible to do certain things if you want to be an all-RP group. Yes, there have been exceptions in the past - but they are rare. This is why many of the larger RP corps turn into RP-lite over time. They simply need the recruitment options if they want to see their goals fulfilled.

Indeed. Another good example is CAIN. They have RPers, some non-RPers that are fine with the corp IC message and developments, etc. A lot of people (I used to be one of them) tend to denigrate RP-lite because they think they never RP. While that may be the case for some, it is also often the case that with their large size they don't need the IGS and the other "main RP venues." They have their own things going on and they are stable and developed enough that they simply don't need to deal with the nonsense you can run into in other areas.
