Just a reminder.

Still have about five days for speaking applications. Those that went to the first one can testify that it was awesome, we had intermission, after-conference barRP, controversy, revelations, etc. As we move closer to the date, we'll post up the finalized schedule.

So, come to this one! See you there.

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

[ 2010.08.14 22:04:40 ] Julianus Soter > We held the first Seyllin Conference to publish our findings, to the universe at large, no matter the race, wealth, or creed, a year ago, in this same auditorium.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:04:44 ] Julianus Soter > Much has happened since then.
[ 2010.08.14 22:05:02 ] Julianus Soter > Tonight, we are brought together for different reasons.
[ 2010.08.14 22:05:20 ] Julianus Soter > Sansha's Nation has launched an unprovoked war of aggression against the civilized world, capturing millions of our citizens to be made into clones, to crew their growing fleet.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:05:44 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote grins and discreetly pretends to swoon
[ 2010.08.14 22:05:57 ] Julianus Soter > True Power, Nation's military branch, now wages their battles almost daily. The Accord, and others, have attempted to organize the effort against this threat to humanity.
[ 2010.08.14 22:06:51 ] Julianus Soter > We believe that Nation, following their attack on the Ducia Foundry facility earlier this year, as revealed in the ISHAEKA reports, acquired fuel for wormhole generators first witnessed in use in Curse. . .
[ 2010.08.14 22:06:57 ] Julianus Soter > at the end of last year, in their battle with the Angel Cartel.
[ 2010.08.14 22:07:27 ] Julianus Soter > Using these new resources, they are now able to generate wormholes at will, against multiple targets simultaneously, through which they may send hundreds of ships to lay siege to populated high-security worlds.
[ 2010.08.14 22:08:11 ] Julianus Soter > The Second Seyllin Conference will analyze the technology behind these attacks, what mankind might do to stop them. . .
[ 2010.08.14 22:08:23 ] Julianus Soter > and any additional clues have found in w-space that could tell us more about the Sleepers, the Talocan, and other parties involved in this struggle.
[ 2010.08.14 22:09:24 ] Julianus Soter > It is the Synenose Accord's hope that together we will be able to plot a course that will ensure our victory in this war, and protect our citizens from further atrocities.
[ 2010.08.14 22:09:45 ] Julianus Soter > Thank you, and once again, welcome. We will begin with Myxx, who will be presenting her research on various subjects connected to the current series of events.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:10:05 ] Julianus Soter > Myxx, if you would?
[ 2010.08.14 22:10:14 ] Myxx > /emote quietly appears as a hologram on a screen behind the podium, her face only
[ 2010.08.14 22:10:17 ] Julianus Soter > /emote gestures, smiling, as he backs away from the podium.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:10:23 ] Myxx > Thank you, Julianus.
[ 2010.08.14 22:10:26 ] Morwen Lagann > You are not able to speak on this channelReason: Not SpecifiedUntil: Not Specifiedadmin: HavvieG
 [ 2010.08.14 22:10:26 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote applauds politely as Myxx's hologram appears.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:10:28 ] Julianus Soter > /emote then walks to his seat.
[ 2010.08.14 22:10:43 ] Myxx > I'd like to thank the panel for allowing me to speak, and for the rest of you for being here.
[ 2010.08.14 22:11:57 ] Myxx > So, right. We recently saw several... shocking revelations in the not too distant past. Most of you will recall the shot pilot Mouse Nell took, that appeared on Galnet. *the shot appears on a screen next to her - http://tinyurl.com/3-CE1RFleet *
[ 2010.08.14 22:12:27 ] Myxx > In this shot, in the background is a Jovian Battlestation, of which was confirmed that Sansha Kuvakei is in control of.
[ 2010.08.14 22:13:35 ] Myxx > We then, recently also saw a rather... interesting revelation, of what appears to be a Jovian Battlestation connected to a rogue drone Hive. *the other series of shots line up on the screen opposite of the first: http://mgln.org/wh/jove/
[ 2010.08.14 22:14:08 ] Myxx > There is a connection there, obviously. But, you might ask... what is it? Its fairly simple, really.
[ 2010.08.14 22:14:34 ] Myxx > The jovian empire has gone through three cycles of their empire so far. Kuvakei claims that the Directorate is gone.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:14:44 ] Myxx > The Society, however, is not.
[ 2010.08.14 22:14:59 ] Myxx > Indeed, they may very well be behind many otherwise unrelated events.
[ 2010.08.14 22:15:51 ] Myxx > Infact, if you take a look at the facts, The Nation has otherwise good relations with the Society. This would be how the Nation came into possession of the Battlestation.
[ 2010.08.14 22:16:35 ] Myxx > So, where is the directorate? Why are most of the Jove dead, gone for all intents and purposes?
[ 2010.08.14 22:18:04 ] Myxx > Not long ago, perhaps a few years ago, we saw the emergence of the Rogue Drones. Drones created by Creodron in secret. They have been pests to many, an ailment to the cluster if you believe what most would say.
[ 2010.08.14 22:18:32 ] Myxx > These two... strings, are better connected than you might, at first, believe.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:18:59 ] Myxx > /emote pauses for a moment and looks around
[ 2010.08.14 22:19:17 ] Myxx > To start making this connection, I am going to make a very, very unusual and unlikely statement.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:19:28 ] Myxx > /emote stares down at Seriphyn with a smile, almost apologetically
[ 2010.08.14 22:19:43 ] Myxx > Seriphyn is a traitor. He may as well kiss Tibus Heth's boots.
[ 2010.08.14 22:19:56 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote looks to Myxx passively, raising his brow.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:20:06 ] Kybernetes Moros > /emote grins to himself.
[ 2010.08.14 22:20:09 ] Myxx > Not to the federation, but because of it.
[ 2010.08.14 22:20:35 ] Myxx > As is almost everyone else gathered here.
[ 2010.08.14 22:20:45 ] Myxx > /emote looks back up at the rest of the auditorium
[ 2010.08.14 22:20:57 ] Myxx > Regardless of your political stance, your factional affiliation..
 [ 2010.08.14 22:21:08 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote relaxes, rolling his eyes while muttering
[ 2010.08.14 22:21:14 ] Myxx > If you are a capsuleer, you are currently a traitor, and unwittingly so.
[ 2010.08.14 22:22:23 ] Myxx > Now, where does that come from? Simply put, the rogue drones are our friends.
[ 2010.08.14 22:23:07 ] Myxx > Its more likely than you may think.
[ 2010.08.14 22:23:29 ] Myxx > A while back, I went and studied biology before becoming a capsuleer. Specifically, insect biology.
[ 2010.08.14 22:23:56 ] Myxx > /emote - on either side of her, two images appear, a wasp from gallente prime, and a rogue drone
[ 2010.08.14 22:24:27 ] Myxx > Tactics have evolved over millenia, and time after time humans, and machines alike, have taken our tactics and creations from bugs.
[ 2010.08.14 22:24:40 ] Myxx > Goonswarm took its name from a swarm of bees, if it isnt so obvious.
[ 2010.08.14 22:24:57 ] Myxx > A blob of ships? What does it best relate to? A swarm of insects.
[ 2010.08.14 22:25:20 ] Myxx > Biological creations and mechanical creations are historically very, very well tied together.
[ 2010.08.14 22:25:38 ] Myxx > A drone is no more than an enlarged wasp, with parts almost identical, if not for purpose than by design.
[ 2010.08.14 22:26:06 ] Myxx > We, humans are the parents of the Rogue Drones.
[ 2010.08.14 22:26:15 ] Myxx > They, like it or not, learn from us to a certain degree.
[ 2010.08.14 22:26:27 ] Myxx > Likewise, the Directorate and Society are our parents.
[ 2010.08.14 22:26:51 ] Myxx > We were created, from mere humans by them. This cannot be disputed, by anyone.
[ 2010.08.14 22:27:05 ] Myxx > The empires were designated our keepers, our breeders if you like.
[ 2010.08.14 22:27:16 ] Myxx > And we have turned on our parents.
[ 2010.08.14 22:27:47 ] Myxx > The fourth empire, there is evidence to suggest, may very well be a large group of the rogue drones, if not all of them, than some of them at the very least.
[ 2010.08.14 22:28:16 ] Myxx > /emote - the two images combine, the wasp and bee on the left side, and the jovian station, and its drone counterpart on the right
[ 2010.08.14 22:28:58 ] Myxx > /emote goes silent for a bit, as if allowing for study of the two image combinations
[ 2010.08.14 22:29:53 ] Myxx > Not a lot is known about the sleepers, one of the things that is known is that they had harnessed fullerites long before we arrived. There is also substaintial evidence that the jovians did as well.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:30:04 ] Myxx > Quite possibly from the sleepers themselves.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:31:37 ] Myxx > /emote nods at julianus, her hologram fades away
 [ 2010.08.14 22:31:46 ] Julianus Soter > /emote nods.
[ 2010.08.14 22:31:49 ] Myxx > That is all, I'll be able to answer anything another time.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:32:00 ] Julianus Soter > Thank you Myxx.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:32:16 ] Julianus Soter > we'll now be moving to Seriphyn Inhonores.
[ 2010.08.14 22:32:26 ] Julianus Soter > CEO of EL-G, and member of the FDU.
[ 2010.08.14 22:32:58 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote breathes in, "Yea', right, right..." he stands, a holoboard in one hand, and proceeds to the podium, a little hesistantly to await Soter's full go
 [ 2010.08.14 22:33:12 ] Julianus Soter > /emote gestuers
 [ 2010.08.14 22:33:39 ] Julianus Soter > You may begin, Seriphyn.
[ 2010.08.14 22:34:00 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote clears his throat, stepping behind the podium. He places his holoboard down on it, interfacing with the display facilities. Seri removes his cap and hooks it on the corner
[ 2010.08.14 22:34:31 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote glances to the people he knows first, before beginning, "Hello everyone, I'm here to talk to you about the exact strategic and tactical nature of the invasions by Sansha's Nation"
[ 2010.08.14 22:34:58 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote sidesteps, pressing a button and displaying archive footage, side-by-side, of the June 110 invasions of both Caldari Prime and Mekhios are shown.
[ 2010.08.14 22:35:19 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > Lightning invasions by enemy forces are nothing new and, unfortunately, history shows that it is a difficult task to repel these types of attacks when orbital dominance and control is established by the invaders.
[ 2010.08.14 22:35:43 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote presses another button. A still holoimage of a Caldari city with orbital defence turrets on the outskirts is shown, along with an image of a Federation Navy listening post.
[ 2010.08.14 22:36:02 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > While State worlds, for example, are known to be the most heavily fortified and defended in the cluster, and despite a Gallentean knack for early warning systems, these countermeasures often prove futile when in the face of a relentless, ...
[ 2010.08.14 22:36:07 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > almost infinite assault by Nation. The question rises; how do we predict these attacks in advance of their occurrence?
[ 2010.08.14 22:36:38 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote sighs, taking place behind the podium again, "Unfortunately, we don’t seem to know the answer, but there are ways to employ tactics in order to minimize the effectiveness of Nation incursions"
[ 2010.08.14 22:36:57 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > The current strategy employed is for the capsuleers to engage the hostile Nation forces in far orbit around their entry point by the wormholes, while CONCORD and member-state navies target landing elements in close orbit, dropships and the like.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:37:33 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote pauses, swearing at his holoboard, "Fuckin' piece of-...right..."
[ 2010.08.14 22:37:45 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote displays a holoimage of a joint CONCORD-Republic fleet battling with Nation landing forces in close orbit of an unnamed planet
[ 2010.08.14 22:38:07 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > In what ways, then, can we as independent capsuleers augment this tactic? An example is sending our drones to assist friendly forces in low orbit, for one, but what else?
[ 2010.08.14 22:38:17 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > ((mail me if your character raises  your hand))
 [ 2010.08.14 22:39:43 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote points to  eliniale "Go ahead"
 [ 2010.08.14 22:39:59 ] Julianus Soter > ((he can't talk, channel is moderated))
[ 2010.08.14 22:40:01 ] eliniale > if we place a smartbomb battleship far off the capsuleer fleet
[ 2010.08.14 22:40:07 ] eliniale > but in the way of the dropships
 [ 2010.08.14 22:40:07 ] Julianus Soter > ((Ah. nvm.))
[ 2010.08.14 22:40:17 ] eliniale > this would prevent them from reaching the planet
 [ 2010.08.14 22:40:25 ] eliniale > and therfore abductions
[ 2010.08.14 22:40:26 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote nods, "Mmm, yes, so between the wormhole and the planet then?"
 [ 2010.08.14 22:40:31 ] eliniale > indeed
[ 2010.08.14 22:41:05 ] eliniale > this would also minimize the chances of hitting friendly ships
 [ 2010.08.14 22:41:14 ] eliniale > assuming the correct position is taken
[ 2010.08.14 22:41:25 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote smiles politely, in encouragement, "I imagine suicidal Nation pilots would attempt to travel into the blast radius of your ship though, and bring about a CONCORD response? It is a dangerous tactic"
[ 2010.08.14 22:41:55 ] eliniale > it is, however concord should have outlawed those pilots to begin with, but you are correct
[ 2010.08.14 22:42:12 ] eliniale > the pilot can always cease to bomb
[ 2010.08.14 22:42:24 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote nods anyway, "It is something I was going to touch on, but there is a tactic for you to put into consideration...is that all?"
 [ 2010.08.14 22:42:35 ] eliniale > yes
[ 2010.08.14 22:43:04 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote points to  Aynen "Yes? Say that again for everyone"
[ 2010.08.14 22:43:07 ] Aynen > Closing the wormholes with graviton emission is a valid option, in spite of countermeasures being used by Nation, it still works, in a 'tug of war' kind of way.
[ 2010.08.14 22:43:47 ] Aynen > Whoever has the greater numbers applying either graviton emissions, or the countering ECCM, wins the tug
 [ 2010.08.14 22:43:52 ] Julianus Soter > /emote nods in agreement.
[ 2010.08.14 22:44:05 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote smiles, "I will touch on that later, but thank you"
 [ 2010.08.14 22:44:18 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > Okay...erm...
 [ 2010.08.14 22:44:33 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote points to  Nikita Alterana "Yes Nikita?"
[ 2010.08.14 22:45:26 ] Nikita Alterana > Set off a nuke in the upper atmosphere, out of range of surface damage, EMP blast knocks out the dropships
[ 2010.08.14 22:45:42 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > That would cause quite considerable economic damage...
 [ 2010.08.14 22:45:50 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > Infrastructural...
 [ 2010.08.14 22:45:55 ] Nikita Alterana > But the people would live
[ 2010.08.14 22:46:16 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote frowns, exhaling through his nose, "That they would...what sort of ship weapon systems use nuclear detonations?"
 [ 2010.08.14 22:46:16 ] Nikita Alterana > isn't that what our goal is?
 [ 2010.08.14 22:46:36 ] Julianus Soter > Minmatar warheads, typically.
[ 2010.08.14 22:46:37 ] Nikita Alterana > Minmatar and Caldari both use nuclear missiles and warheads
[ 2010.08.14 22:46:47 ] Julianus Soter > However, nation would merely distribute attacks over a wider area.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:46:50 ] Julianus Soter > requiring more warheads.
[ 2010.08.14 22:47:11 ] Julianus Soter > essentially, each attack, we'd lose an economically viable planet in exchange for denying them abductions.
[ 2010.08.14 22:47:25 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote notices the amount of raised hands, biting his lip, "Alright, there are more hands...is that all Nikita?"
[ 2010.08.14 22:48:03 ] Nikita Alterana > Well, I'd just say to Jules, that if it comes down to people or resources, which do you pick? and yeah, thats all
[ 2010.08.14 22:48:08 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote waves any more hands from appearing, "We don't have much time, ease up on the hands...okay...thank you Nikita"
[ 2010.08.14 22:48:35 ] Julianus Soter > People, clearly. But starvation due to lack of power is not a pleasant thing.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:48:37 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote indicates  Caellach Marellus
 [ 2010.08.14 22:49:02 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote gives a nervous glance to Soter, "Quickly please, Caellach"
[ 2010.08.14 22:49:44 ] Caellach Marellus > The first Nation attack on Intaki, despite their mass numbers in space was repelled due to ground forces from the Mordus. These days with Capsuleer wealth able to easily fund small armies of personel could we not invest in rapid responce teams that ..
[ 2010.08.14 22:49:59 ] Caellach Marellus > we ourselves can send to planets to assist in defence against the dropships when they land?
[ 2010.08.14 22:50:36 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote nods, "Yes indeed, we can, and I will touch on that topic in regards to the use of planetary infrastructure...okay, no more questions...there'll be time for more of them"
[ 2010.08.14 22:50:49 ] Julianus Soter > A small comment if I could. The first battle of intaki was anomalous. There was a form of electronic warfare that jammed nation communications systems. this prevented their invasion.
[ 2010.08.14 22:51:31 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote nods, "Indeed...anyway...moving on.  As Sister Louella Dougans will touch on, the use of mines by the wormholes has proved effective, but is this indiscriminate destruction of dropships, containing thousands of innocent victims acceptable?"
[ 2010.08.14 22:51:39 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > Are there not ways to intercept the boats instead of ruthlessly euthanizing them? The use of EMP can be one way to disable the dropships and stop them from proceeding to the wormhole. This brings me to my next point…
[ 2010.08.14 22:52:26 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote projects a simple wormhole, "Operation Bad Moon was an effort to disable the wormholes by the use of gravimetric ECM. Emphasis must be put on it. According to the latest reports, any ECM type will do, in fact"
[ 2010.08.14 22:52:32 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote looks to Soter, "Can you confirm this?"
 [ 2010.08.14 22:52:49 ] Julianus Soter > Um. . . no?
[ 2010.08.14 22:52:58 ] Julianus Soter > It would be like pouring water through a sieve.
[ 2010.08.14 22:53:13 ] Julianus Soter > The energy must be of the proper particle type and frequency to destabilize the wormhole.
 [ 2010.08.14 22:53:26 ] Julianus Soter > In this case, gravitons.
[ 2010.08.14 22:53:59 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote frowns, "Damn journalists....right, I would ignore that report regarding this Conference then. Graviton only. I would stress that this must be paramount. Graviton smartbombs is another option"
[ 2010.08.14 22:54:10 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > Naturally, an incredibly dangerous tactic that will likely see response from CONCORD, if a capsuleer ship, particularly a Friends of Nation one, strays into the destructive range of the vessel.
[ 2010.08.14 22:54:17 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > Moreover, the security status hit to the pilot with a crew brave enough to attempt this may deny him access into high-security systems and, in turn, deny them from the ability to participate in further operations against Nation incursion.
[ 2010.08.14 22:54:58 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > However, these are not permanent solutions, only temporary, but this is what my talk is focused on. Now...
[ 2010.08.14 22:55:25 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote opens up images of capsuleer planetary facilities, with civilian settlements that have been erected around them, "Another suggestion from myself is the use of dirtside facilities constructed by ourselves, the capsuleers, in accordance with . . .
[ 2010.08.14 22:55:49 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > CONCORD’s Planetary Development Treaty. The facilities purchased and used by capsuleers are resilient, and mostly immune to attack.
[ 2010.08.14 22:55:59 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > The current trend is settlements forming and conglomerating against these structures, mostly being home to the employees of the capsuleer and their families, as well as smaller businesses designed to complement the socio-economic balance of the area.
[ 2010.08.14 22:56:17 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote pauses for a moment, looking around the sea of faces and smiling nervously to a few. He continues.
[ 2010.08.14 22:56:28 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > I suggest that, in case of attack, our facilities are used as rescue shelters from invading Nation forces, particularly factories that are mostly staffed by drones and androids.
[ 2010.08.14 22:56:43 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > The use of security personnel becomes even more paramount, here, as distant colonies on temperate worlds often do not have a military force to defend them. Thus, using our own military personnel could be a viable defence against invasions by Nation.
[ 2010.08.14 22:57:39 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > Raise your hand if you operate temperate world facilities and would employ military staff for this goal...
[ 2010.08.14 22:58:43 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote smiles slowly, as three hands go up, "C'mon, more of you?"
[ 2010.08.14 23:00:09 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote ushers the array of hands down, "Alright, alright" he chuckles, "Even a single command center could do it"

 [ 2010.08.14 23:29:09 ] Aynen > that is all
[ 2010.08.14 23:29:20 ] Kybernetes Moros > A fair point that I am sure will be taken into account.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:29:42 ] Kybernetes Moros > knightdt , you have a question?
[ 2010.08.14 23:29:59 ] knightdt > I have observed that Nation does not attack unless provoked directly
 [ 2010.08.14 23:30:08 ] Kybernetes Moros > This is perfectly correct, yes.
[ 2010.08.14 23:30:14 ] knightdt > would it not make more sense to use a strictly devoted non-combat platform?
 [ 2010.08.14 23:30:44 ] knightdt > close range, more ecm
[ 2010.08.14 23:31:51 ] Kybernetes Moros > The issue there is that the battleship in question would be left incapable of defending itself with very little additional gain. As it is, there is some kind of balance struck between offensive and defensive capabilities and those to handle the wormhole
 [ 2010.08.14 23:31:58 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote coughs > Poking at that wormhole with ECM isn't a provocation?
[ 2010.08.14 23:32:20 ] knightdt > when I used ECM on the wormhole with a devoted fit in Odatrik, there was no retaliation
 [ 2010.08.14 23:32:22 ] Eventy One > /emote raises hand.
[ 2010.08.14 23:32:57 ] Kybernetes Moros > It probably would be seen as one, yes, Ms. Lagann -- hence the balance I tried to strike.
[ 2010.08.14 23:33:02 ] Aynen > We have had a lot of reports of our ECM pilots getting primaried by Nation
 [ 2010.08.14 23:33:28 ] Kybernetes Moros > Well, with that proved...  Grideris?
[ 2010.08.14 23:34:12 ] Grideris > I was going to bring up the same point, from personal experience.
[ 2010.08.14 23:34:38 ] Grideris > I can assure you, the do attack us even if we only use ECM on the wormholes.
[ 2010.08.14 23:35:19 ] Grideris > And trust me, a weak tank is last thing you want when you have an entire Sansha battlegroup attacking you.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:35:46 ] Kybernetes Moros > /emote nods. "As I have found out myself, yes. Eliniale?"
[ 2010.08.14 23:35:48 ] Grideris > Also on a side note, to any that think the project is crazy - it is. It's so crazy, it works.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:36:03 ] Kirian Kador > /emote snorts in disgust
[ 2010.08.14 23:36:03 ] eliniale > yes quite simply my question is this
 [ 2010.08.14 23:36:15 ] Julianus Soter > /emote returns ot the room.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:36:18 ] eliniale > your specialised ecm package seems great
 [ 2010.08.14 23:36:22 ] eliniale > however
[ 2010.08.14 23:36:39 ] eliniale > it contains a lot of high tech spacialized equipment
[ 2010.08.14 23:36:54 ] eliniale > how would you suggest we obatin these
 [ 2010.08.14 23:36:58 ] Julianus Soter > /emote takes his seat again.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:37:02 ] eliniale > for it's not easy to pick those up
[ 2010.08.14 23:37:17 ] eliniale > especially when you need a new on during an invasions
 [ 2010.08.14 23:37:19 ] Julianus Soter > Actually, they're fairly easy to acquire.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:37:20 ] eliniale > *invasion
 [ 2010.08.14 23:37:22 ] Reika Shimohira > /emote sinks down lower in her seat*
[ 2010.08.14 23:37:31 ] Julianus Soter > So longas you're close to major market hubs.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:37:37 ] eliniale > in and on itself yes
 [ 2010.08.14 23:37:42 ] eliniale > but during combat
 [ 2010.08.14 23:37:45 ] Julianus Soter > Sorry, was a false alarm, fortunately.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:37:48 ] eliniale > one might not do the trick
 [ 2010.08.14 23:38:00 ] eliniale > so you would need several
[ 2010.08.14 23:38:01 ] Kybernetes Moros > /emote nods and rubs the back of his head. "The equipment is easy enough to acquire, really, and is not consumed during operations. It was simple enough to fit out the Bellerophon from the Rens market."
 [ 2010.08.14 23:38:17 ] eliniale > ow I is not consumed
 [ 2010.08.14 23:38:23 ] eliniale > that was where my problem lay
 [ 2010.08.14 23:38:29 ] Julianus Soter > right.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:38:30 ] eliniale > okay sorry for interrupting
 [ 2010.08.14 23:38:32 ] Julianus Soter > it's a integrated system.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:38:37 ] Julianus Soter > Multi-use.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:38:46 ] eliniale > so how does the deployment work?
[ 2010.08.14 23:38:47 ] Julianus Soter > we ready to move on, Moros?
[ 2010.08.14 23:39:00 ] Kybernetes Moros > ...as I said, you point it at the wormhole and fire.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:39:03 ] Kybernetes Moros > Certainly, Mr. Soter.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:39:04 ] eliniale > okay
 [ 2010.08.14 23:39:10 ] eliniale > sorry for my stupid question :(
 [ 2010.08.14 23:39:31 ] Eventy One > /emote raises hand.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:39:33 ] Julianus Soter > Not at all, Eliniale.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:39:51 ] Kybernetes Moros > /emote glances to Soter. "Moving on, or...?"
 [ 2010.08.14 23:40:03 ] Julianus Soter > Go ahead, eventy.
[ 2010.08.14 23:40:11 ] Julianus Soter > Have a minute or so in the schedule.
[ 2010.08.14 23:40:20 ] Eventy One > So far I've been unable to lock on to the wormholes
[ 2010.08.14 23:40:30 ] Eventy One > Is the plan to use the omni-directional ecm?
[ 2010.08.14 23:40:40 ] Kybernetes Moros > Check your targeting systems. It is quite simple to lock onto the Nation wormholes.
[ 2010.08.14 23:41:04 ] Aynen > The computer won't lock onto wormholes, but you can manually aim ((RP))
[ 2010.08.14 23:41:19 ] Julianus Soter > You have to specifically try to lock on directly.
[ 2010.08.14 23:41:23 ] Eventy One > Ill practice my manual targeting then.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:41:29 ] Eventy One > /emote sits down again.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:41:29 ] Julianus Soter > ((it's a large collidable object, add it to your overview. :P ))
 [ 2010.08.14 23:41:33 ] Julianus Soter > Very well.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:41:38 ] Julianus Soter > Louella Dougans, if you'd please?
 [ 2010.08.14 23:41:41 ] Julianus Soter > Thank you Doctor Moros.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:41:57 ] Louella Dougans > /emote wanders up "do doo dooo"
[ 2010.08.14 23:42:10 ] Kybernetes Moros > /emote nods and leaves the podium, glancing at Louella quizzically as he heads for a seat by Reika.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:42:32 ] Louella Dougans > Hi everyone
 [ 2010.08.14 23:43:10 ] Julianus Soter > You may begin, Louella.
[ 2010.08.14 23:43:18 ] Louella Dougans > unaccustomed as I am to public speaking, especially as like, I totally only had a couple days notice, I'm pretty sure I said things way before now that I might be busy, but woo, here goes.
[ 2010.08.14 23:43:40 ] Louella Dougans > I'm going to like, say stuff, that Jules asked about? It might be useful
[ 2010.08.14 23:44:01 ] Louella Dougans > So, anyways, this one time? at Isamm? I think? I was totally there.
[ 2010.08.14 23:44:15 ] Louella Dougans > and the Sansha commander? that was Slave Heavenbound?
 [ 2010.08.14 23:44:59 ] Julianus Soter > Yes, it was.
[ 2010.08.14 23:45:02 ] Louella Dougans > So, I was talking to her? and things happened? And I totally think that she's reachable, and you'd be like able to talk to her about stuff?
[ 2010.08.14 23:45:27 ] Louella Dougans > But you really have to be careful
[ 2010.08.14 23:45:55 ] Louella Dougans > But that's cool, you know? because an emotional reaction? That shows you can reach her? Fabulous.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:46:12 ] Louella Dougans > Have a lookie at this thingie I totally drew. It's super. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/bertcom1/Heavenbound.png
 [ 2010.08.14 23:47:00 ] Reika Shimohira > /emote raises an eyebrow*
[ 2010.08.14 23:47:01 ] Louella Dougans > See? Heavenbound was talkative about stuff
[ 2010.08.14 23:47:21 ] Louella Dougans > things from her memory, you'd be able to talk about.
[ 2010.08.14 23:47:25 ] Julianus Soter > I take it that is you on the left, Louella?
 [ 2010.08.14 23:47:30 ] Julianus Soter > And. . .Heavenbound on the right?
[ 2010.08.14 23:47:43 ] Julianus Soter > Kuvakei, Seriphyn Inhonores being the faces, respectively.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:47:50 ] Louella Dougans > totally
[ 2010.08.14 23:47:51 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote shifts uncomfortably, sat with Natarle and Daniella.
[ 2010.08.14 23:48:46 ] Louella Dougans > dolls and cakes, are relatively benign, you might be able to like, I dunno? talk about stuff and get her to remember things?
[ 2010.08.14 23:49:02 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote sideglances to Daniella Luna, who has burst into loud laughter, "Don't mind us, Sister" he calls out
 [ 2010.08.14 23:49:14 ] Louella Dougans > She likes Master Kuvakei. that's a bit more controversial though.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:49:28 ] Louella Dougans > She doesn't like talking about Seriphyn. From what I've seen?
[ 2010.08.14 23:49:46 ] Louella Dougans > like, when I talked to her? she totally opened like 3 wormholes at once
[ 2010.08.14 23:50:18 ] Louella Dougans > then Seriphyn came along? and he said stuff, that kind of made things worse for a bit.
[ 2010.08.14 23:50:54 ] Louella Dougans > Anyway. She's totally talkable to? and you might be able to get her to like, not attack?
[ 2010.08.14 23:51:15 ] Louella Dougans > say something like, if she attacks, then people won't have cake?
 [ 2010.08.14 23:51:20 ] Louella Dougans > Fabulous.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:51:27 ] Louella Dougans > So, onto other stuff.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:51:32 ] Seamus McLove > /emote nods slowly > it seems plausible sir
[ 2010.08.14 23:52:15 ] Louella Dougans > There's two other things I'm gonna talk about? The mines? and then there's some stuff about clones you might be totally interested in? because I don't think I can be here tomorrow, you know?
 [ 2010.08.14 23:52:24 ] Louella Dougans > Anyway. Mines! omg!
[ 2010.08.14 23:53:22 ] Louella Dougans > so? this one time? at Youl? the Sansha were attacking? And that's only a few jumps from this place where I had some stuff?
[ 2010.08.14 23:53:36 ] Aria Jenneth > *pinches the bridge of her nose*
[ 2010.08.14 23:54:00 ] Louella Dougans > there were totally all these old bits of junk mines? And I thought "hey" and took some along when I got told of Youl
[ 2010.08.14 23:54:46 ] Louella Dougans > so, I threw some out at the wormhole? and the sansha dudes were like "?" and I shot the mines? The wormhole collapsed not so long after.
[ 2010.08.14 23:55:11 ] Louella Dougans > There was a concord guy there. He was like "I support this endeavour"
 [ 2010.08.14 23:55:24 ] Louella Dougans > Here's how I think it works? http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/bertcom1/wormholemines.png
 [ 2010.08.14 23:55:40 ] Eventy One > I have a bpo for mine:  Anaconda Mine Blueprint
[ 2010.08.14 23:56:00 ] Louella Dougans > the debris I think might make things a lot more difficult.
[ 2010.08.14 23:56:23 ] Louella Dougans > If the dropships have to slow down to navigate the wormhole, it reduces the number of trips they can make
[ 2010.08.14 23:56:48 ] Louella Dougans > if the wormhole is damaged, it reduces the number of dropships that can get through.
[ 2010.08.14 23:57:06 ] Louella Dougans > this may reduce the amount of people they are able to take.
[ 2010.08.14 23:57:21 ] Louella Dougans > I could be wrong? but hey, I dunno what else I can do?
 [ 2010.08.14 23:57:26 ] Louella Dougans > Super.
[ 2010.08.14 23:57:48 ] Louella Dougans > So that's Mines! Who'd have thought old junk would be useful, eh?
 [ 2010.08.14 23:58:02 ] Aynen > /emote raises his hand
 [ 2010.08.14 23:58:06 ] Louella Dougans > Totally.
[ 2010.08.14 23:58:09 ] Seamus McLove > old junks very useful ive been using my earplugs for 2 hours now
[ 2010.08.14 23:58:24 ] Louella Dougans > Anyway, one last thingie? this thing about clones?
[ 2010.08.14 23:58:44 ] Louella Dougans > did you know that Sansha has advanced cloning methods?
[ 2010.08.14 23:59:18 ] Louella Dougans > this is secret things I know about from stuff from the MIO.
 [ 2010.08.14 23:59:46 ] Louella Dougans > I don't know all the science behind it. I'm not a molecular geneticist
[ 2010.08.15 00:00:22 ] Louella Dougans > Anyway? with high quality biomass? the Sansha can make a clone? that cannot be recognised as such by any medical scanner in existence!
[ 2010.08.15 00:00:42 ] Louella Dougans > or at least, not without autopsy or something I guess? otherwise how would the MIO know about it?
 [ 2010.08.15 00:00:59 ] Louella Dougans > I was like, speechless? when I heard about it?
[ 2010.08.15 00:01:24 ] Louella Dougans > and with sansha implants and stored brain states? they can totally make people they can control, without it being apparent!
 [ 2010.08.15 00:01:44 ] Louella Dougans > here's a quick summary I drew?
 [ 2010.08.15 00:01:47 ] Louella Dougans > http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/bertcom1/Sanshaclones.png
[ 2010.08.15 00:02:15 ] Louella Dougans > which totally shows how scary the Sansha infiltrators are?
 [ 2010.08.15 00:02:23 ] Louella Dougans > ANyway? Aynen? you had a question?
 [ 2010.08.15 00:02:55 ] Aynen > I now have several, may I?
 [ 2010.08.15 00:03:15 ] Louella Dougans > I guess?
[ 2010.08.15 00:03:39 ] Aynen > One, the debree from your mines seemed to interact with the wormholes, but when ships try to enter, they are denied access. Perhaps this means that an object not showing technological activity can enter
 [ 2010.08.15 00:03:44 ] Aynen > or atleast interact
 [ 2010.08.15 00:03:53 ] Aynen > It may also be size-related
 [ 2010.08.15 00:04:00 ] Aynen > The second question...
[ 2010.08.15 00:04:28 ] Aynen > With Nation's ability to create such clones, can it mean that the crews on their ships are not the 'liberated' people that are now missing from our planets?
[ 2010.08.15 00:04:53 ] Julianus Soter > I can speak to that second question specifically, Aynen.
[ 2010.08.15 00:05:11 ] Julianus Soter > If Louella wants to answer the first.
[ 2010.08.15 00:05:49 ] Julianus Soter > CONCORD Officer Haeldone Dorgiers informed us in Yulai that the crew of the ships Nation uses are largely cloens.
[ 2010.08.15 00:06:06 ] Julianus Soter > But they use the DNA structure from those that are abducted.
[ 2010.08.15 00:06:16 ] Julianus Soter > To keep the genetic pool as wide as possible.
[ 2010.08.15 00:06:31 ] Aynen > So, the actually abducted have not been seen themselves and may be safe at this time?
[ 2010.08.15 00:06:42 ] Louella Dougans > well, I was thinking? that the junk from the exploding mines, it's mostly inert and stuff. It might be able to go through the wormhole. I dunno.
[ 2010.08.15 00:07:14 ] Aynen > As for the inert debree, it is worth testing wether we can exploit this
[ 2010.08.15 00:07:22 ] Louella Dougans > also? you know the Blood Raiders? In Araz constellation, they had some dudes working on mass-cloning. Like making 1000 copies of one person.
[ 2010.08.15 00:07:46 ] Louella Dougans > They might have shared that with the Nation in return for something.
 [ 2010.08.15 00:08:20 ] Julianus Soter > /emote nods.
[ 2010.08.15 00:08:37 ] Julianus Soter > Very well. We should wrap things up if there's no further pressing questions.
[ 2010.08.15 00:08:51 ] Julianus Soter > A reminder, tomorrow the conference will continue, at the same time and place.
 [ 2010.08.15 00:08:55 ] Louella Dougans > super
 [ 2010.08.15 00:09:02 ] Julianus Soter > Aria Jenneth, if you'd please?
 [ 2010.08.15 00:09:16 ] Kirian Kador > /emote Thanks Lord it is over!
[ 2010.08.15 00:09:29 ] Aria Jenneth > *nods and rises, moving to the stage*
 [ 2010.08.15 00:09:42 ] Aynen > /emote sits and ponders for a while
[ 2010.08.15 00:10:15 ] Aria Jenneth > *she stands there for a long moment, head bowed, hands folded before her*
[ 2010.08.15 00:11:39 ] Aria Jenneth > Why is it, pilots ... that we are here, in this place, discussing these things? *she lifts her face, her expression calm to the point of serenity*
 [ 2010.08.15 00:12:31 ] Aynen > /emote raises his hands to answer that question
[ 2010.08.15 00:12:58 ] Aria Jenneth > We all have things to do, do we not? Power to gather, territory to claim, wars to fight, construction to complete, recruiting to do?
[ 2010.08.15 00:13:23 ] Seriphyn Inhonores > /emote discreetly stands while placing his cap on, pulling the visor down as he shuffles towards the exit.
[ 2010.08.15 00:14:21 ] Aria Jenneth > ... so many things. My own corporation is in the process of forming an alliance of Angel Cartel entities-- quite a bit of work to be done. All of you have other things, as well. We hear it, time and time again: the empires are in no danger....
[ 2010.08.15 00:15:13 ] Aria Jenneth > ... The losses are nothing unusual.... The world would go on without our frantic interventions; we're panicking. Acting irrationally. Mistaking a sideshow for an enemy to all of humanity.
[ 2010.08.15 00:16:02 ] Aria Jenneth > So we have been told. And it's true, isn't it? There's nothing very unusual in the losses the empires suffer now. There have always been slave raids....
[ 2010.08.15 00:16:34 ] knightdt > perhaps we are here because we are jealous
 [ 2010.08.15 00:16:43 ] Aynen > /emote sighs, unplugs, and his hologram fizzles
[ 2010.08.15 00:17:04 ] Aria Jenneth > And really, what reason have we to assist one another? What are a few million Gallente to the Amarr? A few million Caldari to the Minmatar?
 [ 2010.08.15 00:17:55 ] Aria Jenneth > ... A few million humans to us, the so-called "gods of destruction?"
[ 2010.08.15 00:19:01 ] Aria Jenneth > Those who ask this questions perhaps imagine, as many of us do, a scouring of worlds by Nation fleets, or a delivery of the Koyonoke bioweapon to a planetary surface or sixty.
[ 2010.08.15 00:20:14 ] Aria Jenneth > ... But such attacks would be fended off. And biological attacks would likely only do what the attacks thus far have not: unite humanity against Kuvakei.
[ 2010.08.15 00:20:45 ] Aria Jenneth > But I am here to tell you that if it is in such terms only that you think, you are a fool, whichever side you come down on.
[ 2010.08.15 00:21:32 ] Aria Jenneth > Sansha Kuvakei may or may not have died decades ago. Exactly what he is now remains unclear, but if he is in any way what he has represented himself to be, then he is playing a long game.
[ 2010.08.15 00:22:28 ] Aria Jenneth > Raids? Kidnappings? Fleet movements? ... these are tools, not an end. Sansha Kuvakei lost his world, once. Do you think he is going to throw it away, all over again?
[ 2010.08.15 00:22:51 ] Aria Jenneth > *her eyes wander over toward the Sansha visitors, towards Ghost Hunter and IzzyChan*
[ 2010.08.15 00:23:53 ] Aria Jenneth > The great man, with his great miracle, watched it crumble to dust once before. He watched it die. The Caldari know well the anger, the despair, the thirst for vengeance, and most importantly, the words, "never again."
[ 2010.08.15 00:24:33 ] Aria Jenneth > So put away your worries for apocalypse. That is not what is at stake....
[ 2010.08.15 00:25:24 ] Aria Jenneth > Kuvakei's power is not so great as that. But-- multiple motherships, multiple titans, that he can deploy to wherever he likes?
[ 2010.08.15 00:26:04 ] Aria Jenneth > What close-fought battle could he not turn the tide of? What war is he not in a position to meddle in?
[ 2010.08.15 00:26:44 ] Aria Jenneth > Kuvakei is becoming a power broker, capable of immense control over the fate of his enemies. And in the end, that control is what the True Slaves are all about.
[ 2010.08.15 00:27:47 ] Aria Jenneth > And control is something that will not be satisfied with simply playing kingmaker and striking bargains among factions he has every reason to hate. Control builds and gathers; it spreads, if it can, as far as it can.
[ 2010.08.15 00:28:42 ] Aria Jenneth > We all, even-- that is, especially-- the unaligned capsuleers have a stake in these things. What is at stake is our ability to determine our own fates, control our own nature, determine who we are going to be.
[ 2010.08.15 00:29:45 ] Aria Jenneth > Unity under Master Kuvakei means surrender. It means the absolute, complete loss of that control. I suspect that the Nation members here would contradict me on this-- they are, after all, largely still independent operatives, themselves, yes?
[ 2010.08.15 00:30:24 ] Aria Jenneth > But in the end, can Kuvakei really take the risk that some Citizen's ability to act on her own could burn his utopia around his ears once more?
[ 2010.08.15 00:30:47 ] Aria Jenneth > ... Perhaps he can. But if that is so, he is a less damaged being than his actions would make him out to be.
[ 2010.08.15 00:31:25 ] Aria Jenneth > This is what we are here for, pilots: if not for others, then for ourselves. For our ability to exist as entities unto ourselves, and not merely as extensions of another's will.
 [ 2010.08.15 00:31:58 ] Aria Jenneth > If that is not worth ... all of this ...
[ 2010.08.15 00:32:12 ] Aria Jenneth > ... if this struggle is meaningless ... then nothing in this universe has meaning.
[ 2010.08.15 00:32:33 ] Aria Jenneth > *she bows formally* Thank you all for coming.
 [ 2010.08.15 00:32:41 ] Julianus Soter > thank you, Ms. Jenneth.
[ 2010.08.15 00:32:57 ] Julianus Soter > I would like to invite those of you who desire further conversation to New Eden Assembly.
[ 2010.08.15 00:33:20 ] Julianus Soter > it will be a venue for discussing this and other matters.
 [ 2010.08.15 00:33:20 ] Aria Jenneth > *descends from the stage*
[ 2010.08.15 00:33:30 ] Julianus Soter > Thank you, and I hereby call this first day of the Conference closed.

[ 2010.08.15 22:06:32 ] John Revenent > It has been proven with manipulation of this enzyme to have the ability to alter, and even eliminate the long term memories of a human subject with complete erasure of significant life events recorded in the vast majority of cases.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:06:44 ] Julianus Soter > /emote uploads a relevent slide of information to the holoscreen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CaMKII
[ 2010.08.15 22:08:14 ] John Revenent > If the Nation is using this enzyme and activating it, this enzyme could be activated remotely through the use of a biological grenade or some other release technology, then the capability to wipe an entire population of their long term memories..
[ 2010.08.15 22:09:32 ] John Revenent > This would leave every target with a blank slate, open to the implantation of false memories that would be more favourable than their original neural state.
[ 2010.08.15 22:10:50 ] John Revenent > Ishukone-Raata has been working on how this could be possibly deployed.. All it could take would be the implanting of several unaffected agents amongst the populous, or a takeover of local communications arrays, and the user of such a technology..
[ 2010.08.15 22:11:22 ] John Revenent > could implant there will via communication while targets are in a blank state.
[ 2010.08.15 22:11:30 ] Xenos Giger > Aerosol dispersion in the planetary upper atmoshere & subsequent diffusion would suffice quite well

[ 2010.08.15 22:12:11 ] John Revenent > /emote nods "Aerosol is also a possible way of employing the trigger."

[ 2010.08.15 22:14:36 ] John Revenent > We are working to create a counter to such a device.. though it has proven difficult
[ 2010.08.15 22:15:29 ] John Revenent > We would require is a living subject from an assualted world that has come in contact with the agent deployed by Nation if this is what they are using.
[ 2010.08.15 22:16:03 ] Julianus Soter > Something we are unlikely to acquire, sadly.
[ 2010.08.15 22:16:39 ] Julianus Soter > Is there any means of detecting this aerosol or broadcast before Nation strikes?
[ 2010.08.15 22:16:39 ] Aria Jenneth > Hm. So this is all based on hypothesis at this point, Mr. Revenent?
 [ 2010.08.15 22:16:49 ] Morwen Lagann > Unlikely to acquire knowingly, Julianus.
[ 2010.08.15 22:16:49 ] Xenos Giger > the problem with enzymes is that any kind of detaturing agent has to be extremly specific to the particular enzymes active biochemical site or it will effect any similarly related biochemical structure & have massive biological impact
[ 2010.08.15 22:16:51 ] John Revenent > /emote nods "In that case Ishukone-Raata would like to work with the scientists of New Eden in aiding us in our research."
[ 2010.08.15 22:17:58 ] John Revenent > Yes it is at this time.. but it is a working theory, and one that seems very plausable.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:18:21 ] Julianus Soter > Ms. Pelea Ming makes a good point.
[ 2010.08.15 22:18:40 ] Julianus Soter > She comments that we could simply capture a dropship on its return route through the wormhole.
[ 2010.08.15 22:19:03 ] Julianus Soter > That would give us access to an affected subject for study and analysis.
[ 2010.08.15 22:19:41 ] Julianus Soter > The specifics of how to go about such an operation, however, are something we would need to discuss.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:19:49 ] John Revenent > /emote nods
[ 2010.08.15 22:20:08 ] Aria Jenneth > It's an idea if we can actually pull such a feat off. Actually capturing ships in space is ... well ...
[ 2010.08.15 22:20:50 ] Julianus Soter > Mr. Behemoth, you can make your comment.
[ 2010.08.15 22:21:03 ] John Revenent > Low yield EM warhead might do, but I am not the combat specialist for these operations.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:21:12 ] Nikita Alterana > /emote raises her hand in the back
[ 2010.08.15 22:21:26 ] Malarthi Behemoth > Isn't a short term counter, if barbaric, to deploy the same enzyme again, wiping false Nation implanted memories?
[ 2010.08.15 22:21:59 ] John Revenent > I suppose it is possible.. but the subject will not have its past memories.
[ 2010.08.15 22:22:05 ] Malarthi Behemoth > However should we be incorrect about their methods and results we could be wiping real human memories, an ethical bind, similar to the moral problems of simply destroying dropships.
[ 2010.08.15 22:22:40 ] Malarthi Behemoth > The crux of the matter would lie in whether we consider the "uplifted souls" saveable or written off, I suppose. But, a discussion for another time perhaps.
[ 2010.08.15 22:23:34 ] John Revenent > In the end its a matter of supply, either way it would be cut down and make it easier to end this war.
[ 2010.08.15 22:23:53 ] Julianus Soter > Umega will be given the opportunity to speak.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:24:04 ] Julianus Soter > Go ahead, Umega.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:24:07 ] John Revenent > /emote looks to Umega
[ 2010.08.15 22:24:19 ] Umega > /emote walks from the back of the Auditorium, walking down the isle as he speaks..
 [ 2010.08.15 22:24:32 ] Umega > I believe your chasing a ghost.
[ 2010.08.15 22:24:45 ] Nikita Alterana > /emote raises her hand higher, standing on her tiptoes
[ 2010.08.15 22:25:03 ] Umega > What is the purpose of erasing memories of people to that of a child, they would need to be retaught many.. many things
[ 2010.08.15 22:25:23 ] Umega > Why go through the effort of gathering people.. when a blank slate clone would serve the same purpose
[ 2010.08.15 22:25:39 ] John Revenent > Not nessisarly, it has been proven that the Nation is able to train super-capital pilots in meer hours.
[ 2010.08.15 22:26:19 ] Umega > Reguardless of their unproven training methods.. why not simple make a clone army, instead of gathering mass people simply to erase them of any memory
[ 2010.08.15 22:26:47 ] Umega > There must be a purpose to gathering the people, and what it is they have that can not be cloned.
[ 2010.08.15 22:27:18 ] John Revenent > They are "helping" people as they stated.
[ 2010.08.15 22:27:25 ] Julianus Soter > I believe the experiences of the blooders might be instructive here.
[ 2010.08.15 22:27:55 ] Julianus Soter > They attempted to clone one man, again and again.
[ 2010.08.15 22:28:01 ] Julianus Soter > Eventually, the cloning process breeds errors and flaws.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:28:13 ] Julianus Soter > Causing catastrophic cloning failure.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:28:13 ] Umega > /emote smirks.
[ 2010.08.15 22:28:30 ] Umega > Then how can we not expect the same fate of us capsuleers
 [ 2010.08.15 22:28:37 ] Julianus Soter > We shall, eventually.
[ 2010.08.15 22:28:48 ] Julianus Soter > Over the course of several decades. Ms. Jenneth and I have discussed this at some length.
[ 2010.08.15 22:29:15 ] Julianus Soter > Some say Capsuleer Delerium is a outcome of successive cloning.
[ 2010.08.15 22:29:30 ] Julianus Soter > Alex, Rendez, you can go ahead and speak.
[ 2010.08.15 22:29:46 ] Alex Rendez > Discussing the topic of captured souls...
[ 2010.08.15 22:30:04 ] Alex Rendez > We believe they are needed simply for more biomass... to produce the same clones over again.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:30:10 ] Alex Rendez > A "resource", if you will.
[ 2010.08.15 22:31:01 ] Alex Rendez > That's about all I can comment at this time, but that is a speculation we have encountered.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:31:36 ] Julianus Soter > Mm.
[ 2010.08.15 22:31:45 ] Julianus Soter > Yes, that corroberates early messages from Slaves.
[ 2010.08.15 22:31:48 ] Julianus Soter > At the attack sites in May.
[ 2010.08.15 22:31:53 ] Alex Rendez > The reprocessing of  existing biomass for use to produce clones at an incalulable rate.
[ 2010.08.15 22:31:54 ] Julianus Soter > They described the attacks as "harvests"
 [ 2010.08.15 22:32:09 ] Julianus Soter > and their Archons, "Harvest Ships"
 [ 2010.08.15 22:32:17 ] Julianus Soter > Regardless, Eventy One, you had a comment?
[ 2010.08.15 22:32:28 ] Umega > /emote continues to stare sternly towards the front center of the Auditorium before turning away as he waves his hand in a dismissive gesture, mutter quite loudly.. "Defensive hang-ups resulting in more souls added to a rolling network.. fools.."
[ 2010.08.15 22:32:39 ] Eventy One > The source you cited says: Pharmacological inhibition of CaMKII blocks the induction of long-term potentiation. That says that CaMKII impedes the ability to develop new long term memories. How do we jump from 'not being able to form long term memories'
[ 2010.08.15 22:32:54 ] Eventy One > to losig the ones we have
 [ 2010.08.15 22:32:59 ] Eventy One > or behavior modification?
 [ 2010.08.15 22:33:03 ] Eventy One > /emote sits down.
[ 2010.08.15 22:33:22 ] Julianus Soter > Mr. Revenent? You can answer if you wish.
[ 2010.08.15 22:34:13 ] Julianus Soter > If not, we can move on to Ninavask, who had a comment regarding what Alex rendez said.
[ 2010.08.15 22:34:27 ] John Revenent > Our capabilities to use the enzyme are well inadiquate at this time, if it is being used by Nation.. with Jovian technology I am sure they hae been able to make adjustments.
[ 2010.08.15 22:35:06 ] Julianus Soter > Very well. Ninavask? You can go ahead.
[ 2010.08.15 22:35:11 ] Ninavask > We no longer have the proof to say they are even harvesting bodies for that reason anymore. Now they make it sound as if they are saving souls, not harvesting them. So they may already have all they need and are gathing bodies for some other purpose.
[ 2010.08.15 22:35:28 ] Ninavask > Things change. Even the Sansha can change their plans.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:35:37 ] Julianus Soter > A good point.
[ 2010.08.15 22:35:44 ] Julianus Soter > We have no verifiable intel one way or another.
[ 2010.08.15 22:35:50 ] Julianus Soter > However, they are still making cloens
[ 2010.08.15 22:36:00 ] Alex Rendez > So what would drive them to capture more soulds, with even larger battlegroups?  What are they using these new ones for?
[ 2010.08.15 22:36:01 ] Julianus Soter > According to the testimony of CONCORD officer Haeldone Dorgiers in Yulai.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:36:20 ] Lady Lard > /emote coughs
 [ 2010.08.15 22:36:33 ] Julianus Soter > LL, you can go ahead.
[ 2010.08.15 22:36:56 ] Ninavask > Well for all we know, as many have said, it is just slave labor. I cannot claim to know what they do with them and my point may be moot. I am just saying that i may not be for reasons we suspect.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:37:21 ] Lady Lard > /emote clears his throat
 [ 2010.08.15 22:37:35 ] Julianus Soter > Proceed, Lady Lard.
[ 2010.08.15 22:37:44 ] Lady Lard > Personally, I believe that too much emphasis is being put on the people being taken
[ 2010.08.15 22:38:17 ] Lady Lard > CONCORD has mentioned on several occasions that the issue at hand is not a large-scale invasion
[ 2010.08.15 22:38:43 ] Lady Lard > The Nation has no history of all out war and Kuvekai preaches peace regularly
[ 2010.08.15 22:39:06 ] Julianus Soter > Aria Jenneth? Perhaps you have a comment in regards to that point.
[ 2010.08.15 22:39:27 ] Lady Lard > I believe the attacks are probes to learn response times and gauge our reactions
 [ 2010.08.15 22:39:34 ] Lady Lard > They're scouting us for something
 [ 2010.08.15 22:39:47 ] Aria Jenneth > *this time, it's Julianus' turn to receive a "look"*
[ 2010.08.15 22:40:12 ] Aria Jenneth > That is possible, Mr. Rykis. The exact reasons behind the raids are unclear.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:40:23 ] Lady Lard > /emote nods
 [ 2010.08.15 22:40:53 ] Creetalor > /emote starts a handheld Holoreel recorder
[ 2010.08.15 22:41:07 ] Lady Lard > In all honesty, people being taken from random planets does not conern the Ghost Syndicate, so I have not looked into it
[ 2010.08.15 22:41:26 ] Aria Jenneth > ... and it is unlikely that Sansha Kuvakei will do anything that would actually result in the second destruction of his Nation.
[ 2010.08.15 22:41:31 ] Lady Lard > However, military attacks by the Sansha concern me greatly
 [ 2010.08.15 22:41:47 ] Julianus Soter > Very well, let's continue, then.
[ 2010.08.15 22:41:54 ] Julianus Soter > Nikita Alterana? You wanted to make a point?
 [ 2010.08.15 22:42:00 ] Lady Lard > Thank you
 [ 2010.08.15 22:42:25 ] Aria Jenneth > If I may for a moment, Julianus?
 [ 2010.08.15 22:42:31 ] Julianus Soter > Ah. . . of course.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:42:37 ] Nikita Alterana > /emote starts to speak then stops
 [ 2010.08.15 22:43:30 ] Julianus Soter > /emote gives Aria a look, this time.
[ 2010.08.15 22:43:35 ] Aria Jenneth > However, Mr. Rykis, the raids, and the resources they gather, likely herald something more dangerous. Whether we care about the losses themselves or not, the fact that Kuvakei is bothering with them should give us cause for worry.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:43:52 ] Lady Lard > /emote nods
[ 2010.08.15 22:43:59 ] Aria Jenneth > Thank you. Apologies, Ms. Alterana; go ahead.
[ 2010.08.15 22:44:48 ] Nikita Alterana > Yeah, basically There are ways other then chemicals and implants, a fairly lowtech one is memetic infection technology, its fairly simple all things considered. certain sounds, images, or patterns can be designed to, frankly, fuck with the human brain
[ 2010.08.15 22:46:02 ] Nikita Alterana > The mind interprets the data presented in an unusual way, and through careful construction of the specific memetic agent, can convince someone to do anything, fall asleep, buy quafe, drop dead, and yes, board a dropship
[ 2010.08.15 22:46:50 ] Nikita Alterana > nation could easily be hacking personal implants, and colony communications in order to transmit this infection agent
 [ 2010.08.15 22:47:08 ] John Revenent > /emote nods
[ 2010.08.15 22:47:30 ] Nikita Alterana > this is an example of a deactivated memetic agent, *she nods to Jules*
 [ 2010.08.15 22:47:51 ] Julianus Soter > /emote uploads an image: http://i38.tinypic.com/2m6tjc9.jpg
 [ 2010.08.15 22:48:09 ] Alex Rendez > Swirly
[ 2010.08.15 22:48:51 ] Nikita Alterana > The design of the fractal in this image used to contain operant conditioning within the pattern, designed to make someone really really want to buy quafe, it was slipped into 3 frames of one of their old ads
 [ 2010.08.15 22:49:58 ] Julianus Soter > Mmm.
[ 2010.08.15 22:50:00 ] Nikita Alterana > if Nation is using memetic warefare like this, stopping the attacks could be as simple as shutting down a colonial communication grid at the first sign of a wormhole opening
[ 2010.08.15 22:50:22 ] Julianus Soter > Except for the emergency and military channels, yes?
[ 2010.08.15 22:50:37 ] Julianus Soter > Is it also possible to implant concepts into the subconcious?
 [ 2010.08.15 22:50:42 ] Julianus Soter > to be triggered at a later date
[ 2010.08.15 22:51:19 ] Julianus Soter > Well, we need to move along regardless, thanks, Nikita.
[ 2010.08.15 22:51:24 ] Julianus Soter > Tykari, you're next.
[ 2010.08.15 22:51:27 ] Nikita Alterana > It is, trigger mechanisms like that are fairly common, often then activated by a simple stimulus, but no, you would need to shut down the military and emergency channels as well
 [ 2010.08.15 22:51:38 ] Tykari > Thank you
[ 2010.08.15 22:51:45 ] Nikita Alterana > if Nation can hack a capsuleer, they can hack those channels
 [ 2010.08.15 22:51:53 ] Nikita Alterana > /emote lowers her hand
[ 2010.08.15 22:51:58 ] Julianus Soter > After Tykari, Nat, and Pelea Ming wil make their strategic proposal.
[ 2010.08.15 22:52:02 ] Tykari > I would like to say I think ms Alterana has a very valid point
[ 2010.08.15 22:52:19 ] Tykari > I have been thinking of methods in similar fashion
[ 2010.08.15 22:52:39 ] Tykari > we today have devices known as alpha wave inducers
[ 2010.08.15 22:53:00 ] Tykari > these devices have as a purpose to enhance moods, Mostly used by the Jove to combat depression
[ 2010.08.15 22:53:19 ] Tykari > but it would not be impossible to use these to induce a hypnotic state
 [ 2010.08.15 22:53:46 ] Julianus Soter > /emote has long since taken down Nikita's image.
[ 2010.08.15 22:53:57 ] Tykari > if Nation is using devices such a these or as Miss Alterana said a memetic agent
[ 2010.08.15 22:54:28 ] Tykari > this could explain why their invasion attempts are far less succesfull when they encounter problems with communication jamming
[ 2010.08.15 22:54:53 ] Tykari > as it also removes their ability to send out these subliminal instructions
 [ 2010.08.15 22:55:20 ] Tykari > so I believe we should definitly monitor commuincations
 [ 2010.08.15 22:55:33 ] Tykari > and see if we can't detect such transmissions
 [ 2010.08.15 22:55:39 ] Tykari > and if possible block them
 [ 2010.08.15 22:55:42 ] Julianus Soter > A logical suggestion, yes.
[ 2010.08.15 22:55:57 ] Aria Jenneth > Would it be possible to devise a widely-distributable test to determine which of these methods is being used? Morbid as it may be to ask colonists to install "if you get kidnapped" kits ...
[ 2010.08.15 22:56:19 ] Julianus Soter > We might be able to, Aria.
[ 2010.08.15 22:56:27 ] Julianus Soter > We could form a committee for that purpose.
[ 2010.08.15 22:56:32 ] Tykari > if it helps to prevent further abductions I don't see why not
[ 2010.08.15 22:56:40 ] Julianus Soter > Regardless, I had one comment before we moved on from this topic.
[ 2010.08.15 22:57:38 ] Julianus Soter > Ah, Ms. Rendez, first.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:57:49 ] Julianus Soter > Go ahead.
[ 2010.08.15 22:58:00 ] Alex Rendez > Thank you. In terms of preventing communications...
[ 2010.08.15 22:58:22 ] Alex Rendez > It would be possible to broadcast a large rangle of "white noise" to jam frequencies of radio, etc...
[ 2010.08.15 22:58:38 ] Alex Rendez > The Scorpion-class battleship, for example, excels at doing so to other cessels.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:58:46 ] Alex Rendez > vessels, sorry... bad mic
 [ 2010.08.15 22:58:51 ] Julianus Soter > /emote nods.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:58:57 ] Julianus Soter > A good point.
 [ 2010.08.15 22:59:00 ] Julianus Soter > Thanks, Alex.
[ 2010.08.15 22:59:02 ] Alex Rendez > So would it not be possible to broadcast such a signal to interfere with transmissions on the ground?
 [ 2010.08.15 22:59:07 ] Alex Rendez > Thank you.
[ 2010.08.15 22:59:43 ] Julianus Soter > Very well, I had a short piece of information to share with you all from a classified operation we conducted to the region of Catch.
[ 2010.08.15 23:00:05 ] Julianus Soter > In the last two weeks of May, following the start of the invasions.
[ 2010.08.15 23:00:26 ] Julianus Soter > we determined the operational theatre for a certain Nation officer, Captain Toriiko "Tori" Aanai.
[ 2010.08.15 23:00:41 ] Julianus Soter > A graduate of the School of Applied Knoweldge.
[ 2010.08.15 23:01:06 ] Julianus Soter > She apparently was attached as escort to a Paksu Mining Group operation in the Stain region when her convoy was attacked.
[ 2010.08.15 23:01:23 ] Julianus Soter > however, she wasn't harmed during the engagement, and indeed, she defected to Nation during it. For no apparent reason.
[ 2010.08.15 23:02:03 ] Julianus Soter > We found her and her True Slave escort conducting operations near a Frentix Production Facility, in a constellation of Catch. She's the field commander for the entire production chain. Fanatical and determined.
[ 2010.08.15 23:02:29 ] Julianus Soter > It seems likely that she was the target of one of the Indoctrination methods we've been discussing thus far. Which one, however, is as of yet unclear.
[ 2010.08.15 23:02:45 ] Julianus Soter > memetic infection does come to mind rapidly.
[ 2010.08.15 23:03:19 ] Julianus Soter > We destroyed her ship and retrieved the following technology.
 [ 2010.08.15 23:03:38 ] Julianus Soter > /emote uploads a slide: PDW-09FX Data Shell
[ 2010.08.15 23:04:08 ] Julianus Soter > Her escort had the remaining pieces of technology:  PDW-09FX Tactical Subroutines and Address
[ 2010.08.15 23:04:32 ] Julianus Soter > We're still pondering what these pieces of evidence might be able to tell us.
[ 2010.08.15 23:04:51 ] Julianus Soter > The Data Shell might be the carrier of stored brain patterns, for instance, but it is still enigmatic and unclear.
[ 2010.08.15 23:05:03 ] Julianus Soter > It might simply be Kuvakei mocking us.
[ 2010.08.15 23:05:34 ] Julianus Soter > Regardless, we'll now move to the next presentation.
[ 2010.08.15 23:05:44 ] Julianus Soter > I thank everyone for their questions and comments thus far.
[ 2010.08.15 23:06:06 ] John Revenent > /emote nods and moves to his seat.
 [ 2010.08.15 23:06:06 ] Julianus Soter > nat, Pelea.
 [ 2010.08.15 23:06:06 ] Morwen Lagann > Actually... I believe there's a brief half-hour recess scheduled, Julianus.
 [ 2010.08.15 23:06:08 ] Julianus Soter > you have the floor.
[ 2010.08.15 23:06:14 ] Morwen Lagann > Or are we delaying that slightly?
 [ 2010.08.15 23:06:18 ] Julianus Soter > Delaying.
 [ 2010.08.15 23:06:24 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote nods > Alright.
[ 2010.08.15 23:06:34 ] Pelea Ming > /emote smiles to Nat, and the holo rises to her feet, gesturing for him to proceedd to the podium
 [ 2010.08.15 23:06:35 ] Julianus Soter > Go ahead, Nat and Pelea.
[ 2010.08.15 23:07:08 ] Nat52 > /emote stands from his seat and moves to the podium "Thank you Mr. Soter."
[ 2010.08.15 23:07:39 ] Pelea Ming > /emote walks along after him, and stands beside, with a bow to those present
[ 2010.08.15 23:07:41 ] Julianus Soter > /emote nods, then leaves to the side of the stage momentarily.
[ 2010.08.15 23:08:29 ] Nat52 > After the Conference yesterday Pelea, Brandrsun, and myself discussed ways of doing something to delay Nation attacks and improve capsuleer morale
[ 2010.08.15 23:10:06 ] Nat52 > As has been discussed prevously, mounting a full scale invasion of Nation territories is a tremendous undertaking and currently impossible with the resources we currently have. However...
 [ 2010.08.15 23:10:34 ] Nat52 > Disrupting Nation's resources is not.
 [ 2010.08.15 23:10:49 ] Aria Jenneth > /emote listens, smiling *
[ 2010.08.15 23:11:52 ] Nat52 > Nation has much of their fleets occupied in Jovian territory and require much material from their home systems, we propose to form a group to stop this movement
[ 2010.08.15 23:12:15 ] Pelea Ming > We have had plenty of evidence that htey are operating out of Stain Region, particularly the sympathizers, as evidenced by several attempts at track them back going thru there.
 [ 2010.08.15 23:12:47 ] Julianus Soter > ((forward mails to morwen/aria for now, afk))
 [ 2010.08.15 23:13:49 ] Pelea Ming > /emote nods back to Nat to continue
[ 2010.08.15 23:14:55 ] Nat52 > We can destroy Nation's convoys and ships while their main fleets are preoccupied by sending small forces in to raid their home systems
[ 2010.08.15 23:15:32 ] Pelea Ming > We can engage the sympathisers while they conduct their activities within the region.
 [ 2010.08.15 23:16:39 ] Lady Lard > /emote coughs
 [ 2010.08.15 23:16:47 ] Morwen Lagann > Mr. Rykis?
 [ 2010.08.15 23:16:49 ] Lady Lard > /emote raises his hand
 [ 2010.08.15 23:16:56 ] Lady Lard > /emote stands

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

[ 2010.08.15 23:57:36 ] Esna Pitoojee > /emote looks back and nods > Oh, yes... actually, this is the part that most interests me.
 [ 2010.08.15 23:57:41 ] Alex Rendez > You didn't read the brochure, Ms. Celiwyn...
 [ 2010.08.15 23:58:21 ] Che Biko > /emote enters and heads for "his" seat.
[ 2010.08.15 23:58:36 ] Celiwyn > "I was not aware of it - I was invited last moment to this discussion today as a way to learn what is going on outside my station."

[ 2010.08.16 00:00:55 ] Julianus Soter > Thank you everyone. I hope you enjoyed the short recess.
[ 2010.08.16 00:01:34 ] Julianus Soter > we had scheduled this block of time to discuss developments regarding research on the Sleepers, the Talocan, the Jovians, w-space in general, or answer questions related to them.
[ 2010.08.16 00:01:57 ] Julianus Soter > Because of Nation's ability to artificially generate wormhole portals, which are bi-directional, unlike Jump Bridges used by capital ships. . .
[ 2010.08.16 00:02:15 ] Julianus Soter > This indicates the root of their technology lies in w-space.
[ 2010.08.16 00:02:35 ] Julianus Soter > And possible the Sleepers or Talocan themselves.
[ 2010.08.16 00:02:51 ] Julianus Soter > While we begin, anyone with specific information or presentations they wanted to give here should message me.
[ 2010.08.16 00:02:59 ] Julianus Soter > So we can begin the roundtable discussion.
[ 2010.08.16 00:03:23 ] Julianus Soter > I'll give you all a few minutes to become oriented and decide if they wish to present, meanwhile.
[ 2010.08.16 00:03:43 ] Lady Lard > /emote sneaks back in and sits next to Yukii
[ 2010.08.16 00:05:03 ] Julianus Soter > Allow me to begin by offering a piece of information regarding the Jovians, then.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:05:46 ] Julianus Soter > /emote uploads data: http://dl.eve-files.com/media/1008/INTELomicron04a.png
[ 2010.08.16 00:06:19 ] Julianus Soter > Shortly after Nation's attack on Yulai, our intelligence sources indicate they conducted a covert operation inside the system of Antem.
[ 2010.08.16 00:06:24 ] Julianus Soter > Which they had attacked earlier in their campaign.
[ 2010.08.16 00:06:46 ] Julianus Soter > During this strike, they acquired people from the surface of the planet.
[ 2010.08.16 00:06:55 ] Julianus Soter > but more importantly, they captured a Jovian Frigate.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:07:12 ] Julianus Soter > /emote uploads a second piece of intel:  Specter
 [ 2010.08.16 00:07:27 ] Julianus Soter > They dubbed this craft "Nation".
[ 2010.08.16 00:07:52 ] Julianus Soter > Within the ship, there was a Cartesian Temporal Coordinator. A device prevelent in w-space, on Sleeper drones.
[ 2010.08.16 00:08:11 ] Lady Lard > /emote eyeballs the Ultra Super Mega Death Ray
[ 2010.08.16 00:08:14 ] Julianus Soter > we believe this might be linked to their ability to navigate or generate wormholes at will.
[ 2010.08.16 00:08:24 ] Julianus Soter > Without the use of cynosural fields
 [ 2010.08.16 00:08:30 ] Julianus Soter > while in CONCORD-Controlled starsystems.
[ 2010.08.16 00:08:52 ] Julianus Soter > With that, we shall begin our roundtable discussion. Please, send speaking requests to Morwen Lagann.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:08:55 ] Julianus Soter > I must step out for a bit.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:09:04 ] Lady Lard > /emote raises his hand
 [ 2010.08.16 00:09:11 ] Julianus Soter > Er, HavvieG, rather.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:09:26 ] Julianus Soter > LL, go ahead.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:10:13 ] Julianus Soter > You can speak.
[ 2010.08.16 00:10:23 ] Lady Lard > Did you happen to recover the GM Ultra Mega Super Death ray? My alliance would simply love that technology for multiple reasons. And if the Nation has said death rays, how would you expect them to use it on us?
[ 2010.08.16 00:10:26 ] Julianus Soter > havvieG will monitor his evemails and grant access to those that wish to comment.
[ 2010.08.16 00:10:43 ] Julianus Soter > Those are placeholder weapons, LL. ignore them, and focus on the ship's hull.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:10:51 ] Lady Lard > I see
 [ 2010.08.16 00:10:56 ] Lady Lard > /emote sits down
[ 2010.08.16 00:11:03 ] Julianus Soter > /emote leaves the stage. Havvie now has command.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:11:13 ] Lady Lard > /emote giggles to himself
 [ 2010.08.16 00:11:34 ] HavvieG > /emote pops in via hologram > Ah, evening everyone.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:11:48 ] Lady Lard > /emote waves at Havvie
 [ 2010.08.16 00:12:09 ] HavvieG > Doctor Moros, you've got something to ask?
[ 2010.08.16 00:12:37 ] Kybernetes Moros > /emote speaks from near the doorway. "Ah, yes. Just as a point of interest, why do people think this ship was on the planet to start with?"
[ 2010.08.16 00:13:16 ] HavvieG > From what I understand, the ship wasn't on the planet, but in space, though beyond that I can't comment due to my own ignorance on the subject.
[ 2010.08.16 00:14:20 ] Kybernetes Moros > I was under the impression taht it was on the surface... if we do not even really know where it was, ignore the question.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:16:05 ] HavvieG > /emote smiles nervously > Are there any other questions?
 [ 2010.08.16 00:16:26 ] Tykari > /emote coughs
 [ 2010.08.16 00:16:45 ] Tykari > If I may?
 [ 2010.08.16 00:16:53 ] HavvieG > Go ahead.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:17:11 ] Tykari > it's not so much a question really
 [ 2010.08.16 00:17:19 ] Tykari > but I do think the Jovian frigate
[ 2010.08.16 00:17:42 ] Tykari > or at least the parts Nation salvaged are indeed linked to the creation of their wormholes
[ 2010.08.16 00:18:03 ] Tykari > it would not surprise if all the Ancient races possessed this ability
 [ 2010.08.16 00:18:15 ] Lady Lard > What about Terrans
[ 2010.08.16 00:18:23 ] Tykari > the Jvoe have cut themselves off severing the gate links
 [ 2010.08.16 00:18:26 ] Morwen Lagann > ... What about myths?
 [ 2010.08.16 00:18:28 ] Julianus Soter > /emote has returned.
[ 2010.08.16 00:18:37 ] Tykari > and yet they have been seen afterwards in known space
 [ 2010.08.16 00:18:40 ] Julianus Soter > The Terrans do exist.
[ 2010.08.16 00:18:44 ] Tykari > suggesting they have other ways of travel
 [ 2010.08.16 00:18:52 ] Julianus Soter > Sorry, everyone, CONCORD busienss.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:18:54 ] HavvieG > /emote sighs, and derezzes his hologram.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:19:13 ] Lady Lard > I believe Yukii has a theory about Terrans?
[ 2010.08.16 00:19:46 ] Tykari > the Terrans are a large unknown, I have heard may rumors, stories and myths
[ 2010.08.16 00:19:46 ] Julianus Soter > Perhaps you could tell us, LL.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:20:08 ] Lady Lard > /emote gives Soter the 'look'
 [ 2010.08.16 00:20:18 ] Julianus Soter > Regardless.
[ 2010.08.16 00:20:27 ] Lady Lard > Well, she better knows it than I but I will try
[ 2010.08.16 00:20:57 ] Lady Lard > Jamyl Sarum is rumored to have built a terran wepaon with terran tech she found
 [ 2010.08.16 00:21:10 ] Julianus Soter > Built?
[ 2010.08.16 00:21:58 ] Lady Lard > With the rumored connection between the Sleepers and Terrans, what if Nation uncovered Terran tech and combined it with Sleerp tech to find a way of manipulating these wh's
 [ 2010.08.16 00:21:59 ] Julianus Soter > Curious.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:22:11 ] Lady Lard > Or used, rather
 [ 2010.08.16 00:22:17 ] Julianus Soter > It is a possibility, but there's no substantiated information, sadly.
[ 2010.08.16 00:22:34 ] Lady Lard > All this we have here is some form of speculation or another
[ 2010.08.16 00:22:41 ] Julianus Soter > As a point of clarification, we do have substantiated information about the "terrans" themselves. . . which I will briefly explain.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:22:55 ] Julianus Soter > /emote nods. > But thank you, LL.
[ 2010.08.16 00:23:17 ] Julianus Soter > Specifically, there exists a Sleeper facility in class six systems.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:23:22 ] Julianus Soter > Known only as "the Mirror"
 [ 2010.08.16 00:23:22 ] Lady Lard > I kill shit for a living, but I tried. You're welcome
 [ 2010.08.16 00:23:39 ] Lady Lard > /emote sits back down
 [ 2010.08.16 00:24:27 ] Julianus Soter > This facility has a number of enclaves.
[ 2010.08.16 00:24:37 ] Julianus Soter > and is, itself, a hundred or so kilometers accross in size.
[ 2010.08.16 00:24:47 ] Julianus Soter > Guarded by a vast array of turrets and sleeper battleships.
[ 2010.08.16 00:25:15 ] Julianus Soter > however, the Zephyr-class exploration vessel is able to penetrate these defenses with ease.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:25:31 ] Julianus Soter > After hearing rumors of this being possible, I tried it for myself.;
[ 2010.08.16 00:25:48 ] Julianus Soter > The facility contained an enclave containing a certain database index.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:25:57 ] Julianus Soter > "Terran Artifacts"
[ 2010.08.16 00:26:23 ] Julianus Soter > We were unable to determine anything more using the limited facilities the Zephyr is equiped with.
[ 2010.08.16 00:26:44 ] Julianus Soter > However, it is a curious mention of what was long thought to be myth or legend.
[ 2010.08.16 00:27:09 ] Julianus Soter > The Sleepers are well-acquainted with them, it seems. And store vast amounts of information regarding them and other subjects within the Mirror.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:27:24 ] Malarthi Behemoth > /emote raises his hand
[ 2010.08.16 00:27:26 ] Julianus Soter > The true purpose of the facility has yet to be determined, however. It is a matter of ongoing study for the Accord.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:27:29 ] Julianus Soter > Go ahead, Malarthi.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:27:45 ] Malarthi Behemoth > Terrans... Earth? Our ancestors?
 [ 2010.08.16 00:27:50 ] Malarthi Behemoth > The first humans, right?
 [ 2010.08.16 00:27:52 ] Julianus Soter > Something like that.
[ 2010.08.16 00:27:59 ] Julianus Soter > The details differ depending on the telling.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:28:15 ] Malarthi Behemoth > Thank you.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:28:37 ] Tykari > /emote raises hand
 [ 2010.08.16 00:28:59 ] Julianus Soter > Yes, Tykari?
 [ 2010.08.16 00:29:14 ] Tykari > we must be careful
 [ 2010.08.16 00:29:24 ] Tykari > and not jump to immediate conclusions
[ 2010.08.16 00:29:41 ] Tykari > true the Sleepers certainly seem to have information on the Terrans
[ 2010.08.16 00:29:58 ] Tykari > but we ourselves have done research into our lost roots
 [ 2010.08.16 00:30:09 ] Julianus Soter > Naturally.
[ 2010.08.16 00:30:18 ] Tykari > so it may be nothing more than their own attempts of piecing history together
[ 2010.08.16 00:30:22 ] Julianus Soter > But we, in general, do not possess a single physical trace of the mythical terrans existance.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:30:46 ] Tykari > agreed
 [ 2010.08.16 00:30:54 ] Julianus Soter > The Sleepers do, somehow.
[ 2010.08.16 00:31:14 ] Tykari > well it should not be unreasonable there may be nothing left to find
[ 2010.08.16 00:31:26 ] Julianus Soter > If the Terrans are in fact behind the Eve Gate, then it might explain something regarding our curious predicament with w-space.
[ 2010.08.16 00:31:37 ] Julianus Soter > And why we're entangled with the home of the sleepers by means of wormholes.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:31:53 ] Tykari > ah yes
[ 2010.08.16 00:31:54 ] Malarthi Behemoth > /emote murmurs that they may be one and the same place
 [ 2010.08.16 00:31:57 ] Julianus Soter > Go ahead, Che Biko.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:32:49 ] Julianus Soter > You wished to make a comment?
[ 2010.08.16 00:33:01 ] Che Biko > Having a database for terran artifacts does not need to mean possesion of them, it could merely mean information about them.
[ 2010.08.16 00:33:11 ] Lady Lard > I personally believe that Sleeper space is in fact the space that Terran colonized before moving through the Eve Gate, and that Eve Gate was essentially a massive wh with a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge mass allownace
[ 2010.08.16 00:33:17 ] Julianus Soter > No, it was a database regarding the contents of the enclave
[ 2010.08.16 00:33:28 ] Julianus Soter > A form of informational portal about the function of a facility.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:34:10 ] Alex Rendez > /emote wishes to enquire
 [ 2010.08.16 00:34:18 ] Julianus Soter > Go ahead, Rendez.
[ 2010.08.16 00:34:35 ] Alex Rendez > So if they colonized these wormholes as you say, are there not people on the planets in there?
[ 2010.08.16 00:35:08 ] Julianus Soter > No the Sleepers have their own means of jumping between starsystems.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:35:13 ] Julianus Soter > Jump drives and such.
 [ 2010.08.16 00:35:28 ] Lady Lard > That doesn't make sense
[ 2010.08.16 00:35:29 ] Julianus Soter > We have no specific evidence they're able to generate long-term wormhole connections.
[ 2010.08.16 00:35:37 ] Alex Rendez > Ah, as I was thinking the Nation could simply strike a populated planet within w-space, if the Terrans did colonize them.
[ 2010.08.16 00:35:41 ] Julianus Soter > Additionally, their facilities are confined completely to space.
[ 2010.08.16 00:35:52 ] Julianus Soter > No archaeological evidence has been found on the surface of w-space worlds.
[ 2010.08.16 00:35:54 ] Lady Lard > How do jump drives jump to another system without a cyno?

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

 [ 2010.08.16 01:13:46 ] Julianus Soter > We have plenty in K-space.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:13:52 ] Julianus Soter > Trace Cosmos. Minmatar Space.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:13:56 ] Tykari > Ginnugap for one
 [ 2010.08.16 01:13:56 ] Alex Rendez > Black holes, cataclysmic variables?
 [ 2010.08.16 01:13:59 ] Julianus Soter > Cord of the Elements.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:14:12 ] Alex Rendez > Ship-influencing anomalies?
[ 2010.08.16 01:14:13 ] Julianus Soter > The list goes on of unusual phenomena.
[ 2010.08.16 01:14:25 ] Julianus Soter > Typically, however, a red giant isn't close enough to another star system to have much effect.
[ 2010.08.16 01:14:42 ] Julianus Soter > it's merely a star at the end of its productive life.
[ 2010.08.16 01:15:40 ] Umega > /emote takes a puff from his cigar with a noticable wide grin before making his way to the door.. "Perhaps it's starting to sink in.." and leaves the Auditorium.
[ 2010.08.16 01:15:47 ] Eventy One > I have heard the theory expressed that the sleepers/talocans were engaged in creating cosmos entities such as stars ectc.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:16:02 ] Julianus Soter > Solar engineering?
 [ 2010.08.16 01:16:06 ] Julianus Soter > An interesting concept.
[ 2010.08.16 01:16:13 ] Julianus Soter > But we have no specific information regarding it, sadly.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:16:14 ] Alex Rendez > Hm
 [ 2010.08.16 01:16:17 ] Tykari > also frightening
[ 2010.08.16 01:16:44 ] Julianus Soter > Solar engineering would explain the Seyllin events, perhaps.
[ 2010.08.16 01:16:45 ] Alex Rendez > Just so long as that black hole doesn't tear the system apart
[ 2010.08.16 01:17:24 ] Alex Rendez > I'm amazed celestial objects can be that close to a black hole without being torn into a fine strand of matter.
[ 2010.08.16 01:17:37 ] Julianus Soter > regardless, pilots, I think we've come to the end of productive discussion.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:18:02 ] Julianus Soter > I do think, however, we've raised some very interesting questions.
[ 2010.08.16 01:18:21 ] Tykari > if possible I would like to add one last thing
[ 2010.08.16 01:18:24 ] Julianus Soter > And I hope that we've been able to learn more about these topics from the discussion we've been able to have thus far.
[ 2010.08.16 01:18:26 ] Pelea Ming > as the saying goes, questions are easy
 [ 2010.08.16 01:18:28 ] Julianus Soter > Go ahead, Tykari?
 [ 2010.08.16 01:18:35 ] Tykari > Violent Wormhole
[ 2010.08.16 01:18:51 ] Tykari > these are different from the wormholes leading to w-space
 [ 2010.08.16 01:18:56 ] Eventy One > http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg310/Terrab/20090420015315.jpg
 [ 2010.08.16 01:19:03 ] Tykari > what makes it so?
[ 2010.08.16 01:19:20 ] Tykari > don't expect an answer, but I did want to throw it out there
 [ 2010.08.16 01:19:41 ] Julianus Soter > Indeed.
[ 2010.08.16 01:19:51 ] Julianus Soter > Such Violent wormholes were spotted in Curse, Angel Cartel space.
[ 2010.08.16 01:20:22 ] Julianus Soter > Nation used them to launch raids.
[ 2010.08.16 01:20:36 ] Julianus Soter > Their possible connections to the ones seen in these invasions is still unconfirmed, however.
[ 2010.08.16 01:20:46 ] Morwen Lagann > We reported their presence in Curse to Haeldone Dorgiers, but have yet to hear any follow-up on the matter.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:21:04 ] Julianus Soter > Or. . . follow-up on any matter, to be honest.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:21:11 ] Julianus Soter > It's becoming the routine.
[ 2010.08.16 01:21:36 ] Julianus Soter > Regardless, there is something unusual at work. And it's been stewing for at least a few months, now.
[ 2010.08.16 01:21:43 ] Malarthi Behemoth > He has however showed up on site to help repel Nation invasions.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:21:56 ] Julianus Soter > Mhm.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:22:31 ] Alex Rendez > Even with a Nyx...
 [ 2010.08.16 01:22:39 ] Julianus Soter > CONCORD does have resources.
 [ 2010.08.16 01:22:48 ] Julianus Soter > regardless pilots, I think it's best we close things here.
[ 2010.08.16 01:23:06 ] Julianus Soter > My sincere thanks to those that came out and participated.
[ 2010.08.16 01:23:33 ] Julianus Soter > We might have opened more questions than we answered, but it's part of the process.
[ 2010.08.16 01:23:48 ] Julianus Soter > We'll upload the full transcript of the conference proceedings to the IGS thread as soon as we're able.
[ 2010.08.16 01:24:03 ] Julianus Soter > I hereby call the Second Seyllin Conference adjurned.

Lagging Behind

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

Spoilers really don't work that well when you have over a screen-length's worth of text.
