"Where were you?"
« on: 23 Mar 2017, 22:07 »

So, I was looking for some information on Eve-tv in regards to viewing numbers and whether anyone else had done the same back then (iirc we were the first live internet regular broadcast) and I came across topics of "where were you when..." and the Imperial Apocalypse or "Impoc" dying were often prominent. For those who are newer and probably didn't get to see the live death of the rarest ship ever made:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0rFy0-Iz1M

Where were you when the last of the rarest ship ever made was destroyed?
I was the camera person we watched it through  :psyccp:
Ahhhh memories...

In 2006 I was 8 years old and mostly played runescape. So.. Probably killing goblins.

That was a few years before I got into the game. At that time I was working for Namco Bandai and playing PSU/MH2 on the Japanese servers with a little FFXI thrown in.

I gotta say that the visuals in EVE have come a long way. You guys were ahead of your time.

Playing a shitty NWN PW, failing my studies, and falling in love.

2006 was 11 years ago? Uffff.

I was too broke to play EVE back then though I would make trial accounts now and again :P

I was probably drinking PBR somewhere in a flannel shirt.

Playing SWG, as I recall. Didn't really play EVE until the following year.

I would have been 11 in 06, so probably moving house for the 4th time that year  :| At that age I mostly played KotOR, I didn't really get into PC gaming until two years later when I started eve.

In May 2006 I was a fairly newly minted nugget flying for Kith Somtaaw.

About a month later the fallout from a corp theft propelled me into Liberal Trading, where I started my time with Electus Matari.

I was watching, and thinking about the other Impoc given back to the Empire, and how all that went.

2006? I was getting drunk, sleeping around and generally having a good time like any college student. I was also more into COD and Battlefield at the time

Depending on when in 2006... I was mostly likely mining in a belt somewhere... it's kinda hard to remember has after few years of mining one belt kinda looks like all the rest. I know I joined AM for the frist that fall... now I feel old... has it really been 10 years since back then?

Sitting on the Star Fraction AT team, partially annoyed our whipping of ASCN was getting upstaged, and partially amused at the commentator reactions.

Probably mining, watching Failheap (or was it still Scrapheap at that point) meltdown with reports of the fight.
