Blood Raider ship crew composition for capsuleers (references: New Eden crew guidelines, Ship crew, Half a Life)

Blood Raider ships crew most likely consists of engineers, quartermasters, blood raider scientists, blood raiders, clergy, slaves, and miscellaneous people. Alluded to in Half a Life, Some (if not all) blood raider vessels have medical facilities installed in them for bleeding. Being smaller ships of both Amarr and Minmatar design, the typical range of crew would be lower-range.

Hematos - 0-5 crew members with ~0-1 of each type of crew member

Cruor - 6-10 crew members with ~1-2 of each type of crew member

Ashimmu - 125-200 crew members with ~20-33 of each type of crew member

Bhaalgorn - 2,150-4,000 crew members with ~358-666 of each type of crew member

Edit: Fixed numbers according to new data received in this thread.

As we know from Eve: Source pg. 156, Blood Raiders mass produce highly nutritious blood-based foodstuffs to feed the growing flock.

Here is an article containing nutritional information for using animal blood in food

Blood and egg - Nordic Food Lab

And here is a Wikipedia link for a list of other foodstuffs that can be made using blood

Blood as food

If you are in the United States and would like to try blood-based food, any Puerto-Rican fast food restaurant should have Morcilla (Delicious spicy blood sausage) and most European meat markets in the north carry Blutwurst or Kishka (Both are great fried with Sriracha sauce over Pierogies) and in the south you can find black Boudin (Really spicy Cajun blood sausage) at most places that sell Cajun food.

This info could be useful for Blood Raider roleplayers. Thanks to Bai'Xao for Nordic Food Lab link.

I've had black pudding. I used to eat it for breakfast on a semi-regular basis. I think it is tasty, although somewhat spicy.

My friend's father can't stand it, because that is all he had to eat as a child in World War 2.

So Blood Raiders eat blood-based foodstuffs as we know. Where this stuff comes from and is processed is a thing too!

A Human Farm (old pic) would be the place. In the 2/10 DED complex "Blood Raider Human Farm", there is an incoming transmission that states:

Quote
Incoming DED Transmission - For many people, the so-named "human farm" is the single most terrifying aspect of the Covenant's legend: an extensive facility, often spanning several pockets of deadspace, where captured human beings are harvested for their blood, sustained in a weakened state on endless treadmills of excruciating torment. While some choose to disbelieve that such places exist, the facts of the matter unfortunately speak for themselves.

The Slavery wiki states:

Quote
Unlike the Empire, the Blood Raiders do not take slaves as a means of prolonged religious conversion. Instead, the Blood Raiders treat their slaves as human cattle, keeping them in massive “blood farms” which they use for their many rituals.

Most of those captured were not destined to live much longer, but the healthiest and most desirable captives were enslaved and forcibly bred to expand the Raiders' stocks.

With that information I would assume that human farms are populated by Blood Raider Scientists and Breeder Slaves and (unlike the Amarrian Breeding Facility that lets slaves procreate with each other) Blood Raiders take a more scientific approach to slave breeding that would be administered by their various breeding programs.

Anything more that is known ? I don't know where to place the Mul-Zatah, the Darkkonen, or the Crimson Hand, as I don't know much about them.

I've heard of Darkonnen but was not sure about them either. So I looked it up.

Kidnappers Strike - The Kidnapping (3 of 10)

Mission briefing
We urgently need help intercepting a group of kidnappers who just managed to snatch the niece of our CEO while she was visiting her uncle in this very system. We believe the perpetrators were a gang of mercenaries led by a felon working for an illegal organization called the Darkonnen. I'll fill you in on the details of that organization in your mission journal.

What I need you to do is capture this agent of theirs, alive if possible. We must have him here for interrogation, for we suspect he is the missing link between the kidnapping and those who are truly responsible for this heinous crime. We need to get to the bottom of which organization stands behind these grave assaults against our people. And it so happens that we know the whereabouts of a certain pirate who has had many dealings with a Darkonnen agent in the past; we hope this pirate will be able to lead you to the agent. The only catch is that he will most likely require a bit of "convincing" on your part before he parts with the needed information. I'll upload the bookmark to his location into your NeoCom; once you have extracted the information from the middleman, I expect you to find the Darkonnen agent and bring him back to me.

The Darkonnen
The Darkonnen is an organization that sprung up from rogue elements within the Khanid Kindgom, starting off as a small band of smugglers operating between lawless space and Khanid-controlled territory. They were renowned for their ruthlessness in dealing with their competitors, eliminating a good deal of small-time criminals within the Kingdom, as well as cleverly eluding the local authorities most of the time. A few years ago, their founder and leader, Michelin Adonnis, was captured by Khanid secret police and sentenced to life in prison for various offenses. His arrest caused a slight setback for the outlawed organization, but in the end it turned out to be not enough to halt their inevitable expansion. Today they are a well known pirate/smuggler network who base their operations in numerous systems in Amarr and Khanid space.

Kidnappers Strike - The Secret Meeting (7 of 10)

Mission briefing
I just received an anonymous transmission asking me to send you specifically to a meeting place in Amarr. It also said that the person you are to meet there has information that could be vital to our investigation of the disappearance of our CEO's niece. I'm reluctant to send you, since this may be a trap, but I really have no choice. If I send someone else, though, I could be compromising the investigation. So I ask you, please head out to the bookmarked location which was given to me through the anonymous transmission. Be sure to record anything said to you and save it into your ship's database, and then return with it to me.

Objective
Meet with the Darkonnen Envoy. Do not attack them. Listen to what they have to say.:

Meassage at warp in:
"Welcome, agent. I presume you are the one who reduced our base to rubble. That really ... complicated our operations, and caused our leader to become quite ... angry. Even so we don't blame you for it, you were simply following orders.

We were quite surprised to find out that the authorities had discovered the location of our outpost which you destroyed. We were certain that we had been betrayed, and during our thorough investigation of the matter we discovered that not only had we been betrayed but also framed by our most loathsome rivals, the Blood Raiders. They were the ones who kidnapped the girl and started this whole mess, we had nothing to do with it. Their obvious motive was to trick your government into attacking our base, which paralyzed our operations in the area, and resulted in the loss of most of our clients in these parts.

Although we found it hard to believe at first, we have a long-standing relationship with the Blood Raiders and regularly supply them with goods they cannot acquire through other means. Their meddling in our affairs makes no sense. But the evidence is overwhelming, and therefore we must act.

Now here is where you come in. We led you here for a reason, this acceleration gate leads straight to a Blood Raider convoy, ferrying some very valuable goods which they purchased from us. It's escort team is not prepared for a sneak attack, and so this should give you the perfect opportunity to strike. Capture their leader, and your people may be able to acquire information leading to the girl through him. I'm sure he will give you the answer you seek, and hopefully end this crusade against our corporation.

As you will undoubtedly notice, the acceleration gate is open. There are no guards, feel free to jump through it. But be warned, keep your distance from us or we will be forced to attack and defend ourselves. We came here only for dialogue, not conflict."

So are the Darkonnen Sani Sabik? Could be, but probably not. Are they Blood Raiders' Allies? They could be, but with a lot of animosity towards each other.

Something else I noticed:

Kidnappers Strike - The Final Battle (10 of 10)

Mission briefing
Our intelligence team has just informed us of new evidence that apparently points to the girl being held in a Blood Raider stronghold in Mabnen. According to our information, she is being held in their chapel and is going to be sacrificed in the near future in one of their bloody rituals. We must see that she is returned to her family safely before those despicable Blood Raider fanatics murder her.

There is a fundamental problem, however; the Blood Raiders are fully aware of our intention to free her and have sent in a fleet of their battleships to guard their outpost. Now, I certainly do not expect you to fight against such odds, but I firmly believe you capable of infiltrating their base, rescuing the girl, and escaping with your ship intact.

We have located a series of acceleration gates leading straight to the chapel. Once you arrive at the final room, all you have to do is destroy the chapel and retrieve the girl from the ejected safety capsule. (All of their chapels have this mechanism in place to save their priests from death should the structure be obliterated.) If we send in a fleet of ships, the Blood Raiders will simply kill her as soon as they realize they have lost. We need to hit them fast and hard, with a small force, before they know what hit them. That is the only chance we have of getting her out of there alive.

Now, if you do not find the girl alive after destroying the chapel, then active your warp drive immediately and get out of there! I wouldn't want to lose you needlessly. But rest assured, should you fall, then I will personally make sure the Raider scum pay the price. Good luck.

All Blood Raider Chapels have safety capsules in place to save their priests from death should the structure be obliterated.

Blood Raider Prison Camp
Quote
The Blood Raider Covenant deals as fiercely with internal problems as it does with external foes. Blood Raider prisons are infamous for their re-education programs. Inmates are subjected to highly structured brainwashing and torture regimes until they accept the salvation of Omir Sarikusa’s Sani Sabik sect. Fatalities as a result of this process are common.
