I almost thought I took down the flagship via boarding party.

Was horrified when a message popped up saying an A.I. will take control of the flagship in lack of crew. :eek:

Died shortly after that.

what to do there, Safai, is to leave one of the gun crew in the isolated gun rooms.

what to do there, Safai, is to leave one of the gun crew in the isolated gun rooms.

That might work, but then the best option would be to leave the second turret from left intact (triple Heavy laser) as it poses the, on average, smallest danger. Alternatively, send several boarders and kill everyone but one guy, then cripple all systems bar the med bay and 02 generator, retract your boarders and blow the ship up.

On another topic, I found the key to getting the supposedly ultra-rare unknown last ship. There is an event where your sensors find a ship with no life-forms aboard in an asteroid field. Usually these means 'Rebel AI ship' but I fond something else today - an unknown alien ship, coated in a sort of glass or crystal armor. Going aboard found nothing of use save some impressive weaponry and a strange stasis pod. Due to an incoming asteroid that will destroy this ship you have to chose what to bring with you.

I picked the pod, and had then to find someone that could repair it. Later I ran into a Zolthan (sp?) science team and asked them if they could fix it. They did. From the pod a collection of crystal shards re-emerged into an ancestor of the Rockmen - a 'Crystal'-man. He claimed that his people were isolationists but that he wanted to make contact with the Rockmen at their homeworld and asked if you could go there.

I never got that far as I were boarded by 4 mantis and had my crew massacred when I used the Crystal's (amusingly enough named Steve :lol:9 special ability to 'lockdown' the room he was in. Sadly that room was a 4-square area with 4 mantis in it and since none could go in-out while the lockdown was in effect 4 of my crew (all save for one - a Zolthan) perished and the mantis soon got out and ravaged my ship. Talk about self-inflicted defeat :evil: :bash:

In short, to get the unknown cruiser;

1. Find a ship in an asteroid belt and investigate, hope it's not an AI.
2. When the ship is found bring the pod with you.
3. Find Zolthan scientists to fix it.
4. Go to Rockmen homeworlds.
5. ??
6. ??
7. Unknown ship \o/
