No, no you don't. Hair that reach one's lower back is a mark of dedication, thus respect-inducing. Only ones that won't care are the tradtionalists who thing men should never have hair longer than 10cm and that women are just fine with really short shoulder-or-higher hair, and pissing them off is entertainment you can't buy.
