... And, taking off the modhat for a moment, I do struggle a little to see how the thread could be construed as OOC, personally.

The reason given by CCP Navigator was pretty confusing. But well, CCP says in the TOS that [y]ou may not use “role-playing” as an excuse to violate these rules. While EVE Online is a persistent world, fantasy role-playing game, the claim of role-playing is not an acceptable defense for anti-social behavior. This means that harassment of other players does not get cool (as far as CCP is concerned) just because you say "it's IC!"

But as I said, I didn't have a problem with that thread. I don't think it would have become more interesting, though. The re-opening of that thread pretty much devolved into mocking the OP without any on-topic discussion right away.

It provided some interesting insight and added some grey color to the public image of EM - something I always knew was there, but it rarely if ever gets brought up in public.

Well, the first thread does include all the IC comments you will get from GRD on the topic in public (including the exact phrasing of that infamous standing order), so I don't think it would have become more interesting. The OP in that thread was very misleading in pretty much everything it claimed. Pretty typical slander.

Maybe there's a misunderstanding. :-) I have not petitioned him nor reported that thread, and I do not know if others have, exactly - I was merely joining in with the guessing on why it was locked for being "not IC at all", based on one comment I read in EM where someone said they're thinking of reporting the thread because they felt it was a continuation of the harassment.

Oh, and by the way - if anyone here wants to continue the actual RP in that thread (without DD), we'd be happy to do that. But as I commented above, there are likely no good IC reasons for us to give more public statements on the topic. If it's important to someone and they have a good idea, I'm sure we can try and arrange something, though. Would be sad if DD manages to prevent good RP.

I'm not sure it's sensible to go into any detail. There was a lot that happened internally. Some of it spilled out to the public.

I wrote this earlier in the thread:

Someone mentioned that they thought about reporting it because it's just one more item in a rather lengthy history of p(Dame Death) seriously harassing multiple members of Electus Matari using alts. He just can't take a "leave me alone". (Most of this was kept internal to EM, some of it spilled to the public, e.g. here or here)

This post from the second thread has a semi-useful summary I think.

He was in EM for a while, caused a lot of dramas, and kept annoying a few of our people. When he was told to leave them alone he ignored that. When his characters were blocked, he used various alts to circumvent the blocking.

He also continues to try and badmouth us in various places. Which is fine, as far as RP goes (he's a pretty obvious liar, though). I saw that forum thread more of a "badmouthing" attempt than harassment.
