[Character] Gentle Shine, AKA Valiren Braezen
« on: 21 Jan 2011, 01:30 »

Name: Unknown - Valiren Braezen (Officially sanctioned designation.)
Callsigns: Gentle Shine, Al'Kaera Alpha, Einhander.
Age: Unknown - Presumed 30's.
Current Clone Age: (At the time of this posting) - Three Days.
Gender: Male.
Birth Date: Unknown
Race: Caldari
Bloodline: Civire
Ancestry: Mercenaries (Possible Dissenter mingling)

Appearance: Valiren, as he is most commonly referred to, is six-foot-eight and weighs roughly one hundred and eighty seven pounds. His eyes are dark blue with rather large pupils, and odd black 'freckles' sprinkled amidst the irises. His hair is brown and moderately short, trimmed unevenly, and combined with his thick beard, gives him something of an unkempt look. His nose is long and mostly straight, while his lips are full and rather soft looking. His skin is similarly soft, which doesn't lend itself much to his status as a working man, but his calloused and rough hands would say otherwise.

He generally wears either dark, casual and simple clothing, or else bright silvers and dark blues when he feels the need. His physique isn't terribly prominent, and for the most part he is rather unimposing. He is more lithe than strong, but he can still hold his own in a straight brawl. For the most part his body is uninteresting, but he has a long and ragged scar up his entire left arm, which he is very careful to keep covered at all times by some means or another.

Social Standing: Valiren is, for the most part, an outcast among the Caldari. His recent expeditions for work have taken him far from Caldari space into Minmatar territory, who he has yet to make a significant impact on either- as such he is a loner, aside from the rare friend. His actions against the Amarr have already earned him some ill will from the faction as a whole, but that is the extent of extremes.

For himself, Valiren dislikes slavery, which spurs his dislike of Amarr culture as a whole. On the other end of the spectrum, his work for Caldari Navy showed him the dark underbelly of the Gallente that hides behind the face of democracy. While he is not immediately prejudiced against either Gallente or Amarr pilots, his preference is to fight against the Amarr, hence his leaving for Minmatar space.

Occupation: As a mercenary, Valiren has for the most part been taking missions in Minmatar territory. Thus far he is practically nameless in the Minmatar sectors, only assisting his new friends when he can. He intends to change this however, and make his name known both to his friends and those who consider him a foe.

His primary adversaries thus far have been limited to the Amarr and various Pirate factions. Valiren prefers fighting Pirates, but oftentimes he will accept a mission fighting the Amarr. He will not, however, accept missions against the Caldari or Mordru's Legion unless he has no choice, or he has a very good reason to fight them. The few engagements he has entered thus far, he has made sure to keep all of the fallen's tags.

Personality: Valiren styles himself to be akin to a Knight in shining armor- but he and just about everyone he comes into contact with knows that, with the occupation of a Mercenary, this is practically an impossibility. He is a hypocrite, claiming to be a Soldier of the State while gunning down her allies and working for her foes, all under the guise of claiming to work for the greater good.

With that said however, he is as good a man as any ruthless soldier can be. With his enemies he is merciful, killing them as quickly and painlessly as possible, and with his friends he is always prepared to assist them, even to his own detriment. He has a good sense of humor, and will often let insults or blows to his pride off without trouble. His motto is and always has been, 'Love all, Trust few, Do Wrong to none.' He upholds it to the best of his ability.

Background: Very little is truly known about Valiren, and he is not the most open speaker when regarding to himself. Being a Capsuleer, he has no biological parents, and he has no family. His true age is entirely unknown, as records seem to have vanished regarding his true identity and birthdate. His latest incarnation seems to have suffered a critical malfunction- namely, the loss of most of his knowledge in flying advanced ships and other such abilities. Initially he was presumed to be defunct and useless, however he has been attempting to prove his worth to the Capsuleer community as a whole by quickly rising to his previous skill.

((Well, hope this proves satisfactory and interesting, folks! Looking forward to getting into the RPing. =]))
