Eh, sure. I'll volunteer. Also, Misan? Did you jaguar plush up a Jaguar? That's just... so wrong.

I'd be on the judging committee.

Describe your character in a few words without mentioning their profession or appearance.  Trust me, it's harder than it sounds.

  • Creation is so precious, and greed so destructive.

Well, it sounds quite hard, since those areas in many ways define our characters...

Soft spoken aggression.

I could have also used "sweet-talking snake," "cordial predator" or a slew of other descriptors. :)

It's a crutch. It's the stuff underneath the mask is the real character. :D

Lillith's got it right on the money though. ^_^

I never got that 'in a few words' thing. Why bother limiting yourself like that? Doesn't really bring out anything more about the character, except your own knowledge of obscure synonyms and terms. No, just say 'describe your character without touching on appearance or profession' and leave it at that. That'll allow for proper characterization and descriptions without relying on crutches.

Challenge doesn't equal interesting, accurate or even necessarily fun. And 'less is more' only applies to lingerie.

Wat. /o\

You could go into more detail, but going over a paragraph ( 3 sentences) would be overdoing it.

It's not really about the words you find, what matters is getting to understand who your character is.   :D

I use this when I create characters for concept art sketches.  Personality is ALWAYS brainstormed first, then the appearance and job falls right into place. ^_^

...

Denizens of backstage.

For your benefit, and Mizhara's:

HAMLET, by
WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE,
WRIT in 1602,
performed before KINGS AND COURTS;
in HALLS OF GOVERNMENT;
on STAGES GREAT AND SMALL,
and IMMORTALIZED
in a THOUSAND PRINTED VOLUMES -

ACT the SECOND, SCENE TWO

POLONIUS:
This business is well ended.
My liege, and madam, to expostulate
What majesty should be, what duty is,
Why day is day, night night, and time is time,
Were nothing but to waste night, day and time.
Therefore, since
BREVITY IS THE SOUL OF WIT,
And tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes,
I will be brief: your noble son is mad:
Mad call I it; for, to define true madness,
What is't but to be nothing else but mad?
But let that go.

I hope the irony of having provoked me to tell you this in a long and winding style is not lost on you, Mizhara :P

I should think we will not soon make inquiries into the worth of expressing oneself in few words.

In any case. Ashar: desperate, wily, steadfast.
