tektek.org Malware warning
« on: 07 Dec 2010, 05:15 »

[mod]Visiting a number of pages on the forum currently produces a malware warning related to the tektek.org site - possibly related to a member's embedded signature being hosted on a compromised domain? If it's your signature producing this warning, could you be so kind as to disable it and remove the links?  [/mod]

I encountered this problem on all pages when I updated my chibi avatar recently.  It seemed to go away when I deleted the link and just uploaded the saved image.

This sort of thing is precisely why I have avatar and signature display turned off -- very easy for an attacker to inject whatever he likes.

Ok, I've disabled some people's avatars. It seems as though the site where you make the Chibi avatars has fallen out of Chrome's good graces. If you want to keep using a chibi avatar, make sure and upload it, rather than linking directly to the tektek site.

If you get a warning, please link the thread here. Please check here before you link a thread, to see if someone else has already linked it.

This is clearly a sign from a higher power. Said power disapproves of chibi avatars. Y'all best get rid of them ASAP.

Sounds more like it's a sign that Chrome needs to be uninstalled.

The site has been cleared and had its warning of malware removed. Rejoice!
