Not my cup of tea.

Drinking a bottle of wine in the middle of the summer when the sun comes down, surrounded by lakes and forests kind of makes something like this obsolete.

I like timelapses and this one's pretty nice, but I'd not really go for "most beautiful ever".

That is pretty seriously gorgeous.

Best ever ...? I'm not sure I've seen enough of the competition to say. But it is indeed very, very pretty.

(Watching the cranes on the towers switch this way and that was ... odd, somehow.)

I rather liked it, but I hated how they kept changing views, I would have preferred it had one view and just sat there.

Dubai is known for having the most construction cranes in the world at any given time. They're trying to build up this huge A-class city in a matter of years, but the architecture is astounding. Especially the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa:

They need to spend their oil money somehow and realize they need to invest for a future where oil may not be the black gold it is today.

Dubai's economy isn't based on oil, actually. In fact, it's even more unstable a financial base than oil, as the banking crash exposed.

The video's pretty damn beautiful, but I must say that some scenes from Koyaanisqatsi outclass it.

Well yes, Koyaanisqatsi is professionally made with Phillip Glass as the conductor. This has a pretty good cinematographer with Clint Mansell, who's epic.

I almost went to Dubai to practice Arabic (which is kinda dubious, noting the demographics) but someone beat me to the scholarship. Also, I second Clint Mansell's "epicness".
