Here are gathered all the venues and exhibitions showcased at the NEF in Caille, October 26-27th.

NEF VENUES - Chantide
Related venues:

New Eden's Fair - Aiguillon Spire Hub (To the Fair main Hub - current access closed to the public)
________________________________________________________________________

After landing on Caille, you make your arrival through the maglev line connecting Caille proper to Chantide, a ride of a dozen of minutes at best.

The gallentean Alpha city of Chantide is located upstream near one of the Stomeve river affluents in the Alpine region of Caille surroundings. It is remarkable for that it is located in a big chasm opened in the crust of the continent, and mostly follows a completely vertical design. Most streets are layered into various levels until they reach the top of the chasm through public elevators or the buildings and spires themselves.

Being most of the day plunged into the shadow of the canyon itself, the city is famous for its lights and illuminations, whether at night, or during the day, lending it the colloquial name of the "Nocturnal City".

The size of the city is rather small compared to most modern metropolises and metroplexes that can be found on most densely populated worlds: while it has never been absorded into Caille giant conurbation, it remains a cultural oddity of sorts.

It has been chosen as the host city for the New Eden's Fair premiere, and street vendors, artists, and night animation has at least tripled in size and activity. Walking across those streets under the neon bright lights of the vendors or the soft, smooth illuminations of residential areas provides you with a feeling of serenity. Various smells of local recipes or street food fill your nostrils, and you can appreciate the reduced size of the quiet urbanism at work here.

Important note: Security is tight and mostly handled by the Caille local police force assisted by Federal expert officials. While most of the streets are safe from any harm or incident, wandering deeper in the city for capsuleers is at your own risk: although the city remains pretty secure and Caille baseliners are all but hostile to capsuleers, it will not prevent oddities to happen, especially in private places.
New Eden's Fair - The Hostel Mahjong Parlor (To the parlor/cafe)
______________________________________________________________

The Hostel is a tall spire located in the middle of Chantide city, not far from the maglev connection to the Aiguillon Spire, where the Fair is held. This particular luxurious building has been chosen to accomodate all the staff and guests for the Fair, baseliners and capsuleers alike, although capsuleers have their own private wing dedicated to them. It acts not only as a hotel, but also offers various other activities such as shopping and a mahjong parlor that serves various functions such as cafe, restaurant, or more traditional Jin-Mei mahjong tables.

The entry hall is set up in old classic Garoun style with white tall walls and sculpted archways. While the occasional devices and furniture are of obvious modern facture and electronic or holographic nature, most of the building itself remains very traditionnal.

The capsuleer wing reserves full suites for capsuleers and sponsors alike: those suites are incredibly large and spacious, counting many rooms and balconies for every single one of them. They all include everything that would be required, from private kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms to conference rooms. They also feature an advanced holographic setup that can serve as a full time augmented reality changing the look of the environment if the guest so desires, effectively turning the room into an estate located in the jungle, in arctic climate, in space, or any location suiting his tastes.

The building is named after a couple of famous gallentean figures, one at the origin of the city (Sheldon Candaria), and the other one later one as the architect having designed and built the Aiguillon Spire (Cecil Espalier).

Important note: The security is handled by automatic systems such as paralyzing dart throwers and electrifiers, security staff, but any weapon, concealed or not will be detected anywhere inside by high tech scanners and disabled by special jammers.

Outside view of the Aiguillon Spire, with the Chantide crevasse on the left.

As you come out of the maglev connection to Chantide in the subway station just under the spire, you emerge in a short series of corridors leading to a security checkpoint where various people can be seen waiting - baseliners and capsuleers alike. All firearms are to be handled, and all personal weaponry augmentations are not allowed inside either.

Past that point, you step in a huge, well lit hall mostly in various tones of white with the occasional vegetal spots completing the picture. The overall sleek, modern straight lines are rather typical of a lot of the gallente alpha cities, where augmented reality is part of life and can be linked to personal implants for a better awareness of every piece of info one can glean. Colossal holographic screens adorn the top of the walls and relay the same kind of news reports or documentaries related to the exhibitions.

Portals leading to every exhibition are located around the room, with clear signs leading the way to where the sponsors chose to exhibit, in various dedicated wings of the building.

Another door leads to an elevator up to the top of the spire where the auditorium is located.

Important note: The security is handled by automatic systems such as paralyzing dart throwers and electrifiers, security staff, but any weapon, concealed or not will be detected anywhere inside by high tech scanners and disabled by special jammers.
NEF EXHIBITIONS - TES Empress's Bounty
Lunarisse Daphiti
Location: TES Empress's Bounty, Luxury Yacht

A small but lush space.  A White Arbor stands at the entrance with a rambling climbing Blush Pink Colored Rose Bush entwined along its arch. At the base of the arbor are the Yellow blooms of the Forsythia bush.  Should you enter under the arch, you entered into an small enclosed garden space in a hexagonal room with four portals, in addition to the entrance.

There is an informational table along with marble benches for visitors.

A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in the center of the space, and explains:

Gardens can be a window into a culture.  This can be reflected by the lay-out, the purpose and use, and the plants themselves.  Traditions also can arise and be reflected by gardens.  These traditions are often informed by 'popular' piety in additional to more formal prescriptions.  It is the hope of this Exhibitor that the Gardens of the Empire may provide an insight into the soul of the Empire.  For example, in this small room itself, there is the Forsythia, commonly known as the "Golden Bower", or more whimsically, the "Golden Fleet", beloved for its clusters of massed golden flowers.  Gold, of course, is color associated with the Empire and commoners often show their pride in selecting this rambling bush for their gardens which greets each spring with its blooms.  The blush pink rose is known as Jamyl's Rose and was specially bred in honor of her coronation as Empress, using rose varieties from across the Empire to represent unity.

Today, the Exhibit is pleased to present four garden archetypes:

A Formal Garden of Dam Torsad
A Khanid Meditation Garden
A Colonist's Garden
A Ni-Kunni Water Garden from Mishi IV

High, well trimmed Box Hedges frame a manicured lawn and garden beds framed by lower hedges.  The Box Hedges are laid down in patterns rich in the Empire's symbology.

Beyond the hedges, due to holographic tech, appears the sprawling metropolis of Dam Torsad, Its golden towers shine high above.  The noises of the city filter through the hedges: prayer drones, bells, and the hustle of traffic.

The formal garden beds are intricate in their designs and highly structured and stylized without a single flower out of place.  The beds include: Lady's Mantle, Iris a.k.a "Sceptri" coupled with the Daffodil a.k.a "Coronaeque".

At the center is a formal rose garden surrounding a Statue of Empress Jamyl I. The roses include Jamyl's Rose and a rose variety known as "The Holder's Daughter." At different places are benches for contemplation and quiet talks.

A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in, and explains:

The Formal Gardens of Dam Torsad are reflective of the nobility and the Emperor Family. The designs of the gardens go back centuries, even millenia.

Box hedges are popular because they are easily shaped to impose order and structure on the gardens or pruned into the symbols that the Amarr Faith and Empire are so rich in.

The Septri and Coronaeque are a traditional pairing.  They are meant to symbolize the Ametat and Avetat, also known as the Sceptre and the Crown in common parlance.  They are associated with the Sefrim and the First Emperor Amash-Akura,

The Formal Gardens are also known for their statuary which honor the Military Heroes, Holders, and the vast pantheon of Saints, Prophets, Emperors through the ages.  Popular piety often arises around such statuary.  For example, some commoners will weave a crown of roses for the Empress Jamyl as way of gratitude for the Divine Miracle and her dispatch of the Elder Fleet.

Formal stone walls enclose an austere space.  A stepping stone path winds through the space.  On each side the garden beds are filled with rounded, smooth pebbles and stones.  Carefully tended and sculpted bushes and trees with highly stylistic forms grow in the beds.  These include the Emperor's Tree, Khanid Maple, Athra Cedar, and Golden Fir.

At times, jagged rocks are laid down.  The path passes a small pond filled with Water Lilies and ends at a bare corner square bed that is filled with fine powdery white sand.  Resting against one wall of the sand bed is a rake.  At both the pond and the sand bed are stone benches.

Beyond the walls, due to holographic tech, appears a series of cliffs and rounded hills with a path leading up to an ornate Keep that lies far away from the crowded, polluted, Dark Khanid cities of the Kingdom.

A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in, and explains:

That Khanid people are known for both their martial discipline, as evidenced by their  Cyber Knights, and their zealotry for the faith, as evidenced by their  Zealots.  Austere and formal gardens such as these serve as spaces where the Khanid military and religious orders, such as the Khanid Mashtori an elite sect of bounty hunters, can readily meditate and focus without distraction from more ephemeral sights and sensations of their crowded cities.  The sands in the bed can be raked into simple patterns which, along with the  pond and the stylized trees, are meant to serve as aids to meditation.  Even the rocks and stones serve this purpose and are rarely placed in straight lines or in symmetrical patterns.

There is the quiet sound of water falling, and trickling. The garden resembles an oasis nestled into a niche surrounded by canyon walls on three sides and, thanks to holographic tech, opening to what seems to be endless desert sands.  It is well lit from a full moon which hangs on the sky of Mishi IV.  Stars sparkle like jewels in the night,

From a spring fed high up in the canyon, descends a waterfall which cascades into a clear blue pool. Surrounding the pool are frail, but verdant  Water Baron Fig and  Emperor's Date Palm trees.  Small bushes grow in clusters of Desert Rose, Fern of the Desert, and Wattle around a winding path. Steppe Skink and Al-Dehr Beetles scuttle through the undergrowth.

The scents of the Desert Honeysuckle, known as the Angel's Trumpet, and the Bird of Paradise flower, which bears spicy fruits, fill the air. Oasis of Heaven Water Lilies bob quietly in the pond.

A fire burns in a Brazier of smoked wood. In the background is the sound of traditional ni-kunni Wind Dancing music.

A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in, and explains:

The Ni-Kunni originated on the desert world of Mishi IV.  Water is scarce on this harsh planet.  Pre-Reclamation, water barons controlled large swaths of people and resources by virtue of their control of that precious resource, water, which is so common elsewhere.  Water is a sign of wealth and power.

While now Reclaimed, water continues to hold deep spiritual meaning for them.  The ancient peoples worshiped a number of gods until enlighted as to the one true God.  Paramount among them were the life-giving water god worshipped by the nomadic desert peoples and a rain god worshipped by city dwellers.  Common to each is the belief in angels who supplied water to a thirsty people.  Oasises, such as the one represented here, were cherished as holy places.

Even today, the Ni-Kinni give thanks to the one true God for the gifts of water.  The presence of rain, or a spring, is seen as a Blessing.  Being associated with wealth, prosperous Holders, artisans and merchants often craft private walled water gardens for meditation and prayer. Water is used in Prayer and Blessings by clergy.

A metal fence marks a square plot adjacent to a utilitarian habitat structure. Thanks to holographic tech, beyond the garden appear straight roads and adjacent habitats, warehouses and industrial structures leading off in all directions until ending at a dome.  Outside the dome can be seen the purple and red clouds of a  Storm Planet.  The tiered clouds extend up to an obscured sky. Jagged bolts of chain lightning flicker back and forth.  A shuttle, buffeted by winds, struggles to make its way to a landing facility outside. Strange alien creatures, almost like airborne Jelly Fish dart between the clouds.

The square plot is plowed in neat rows. Rows of corn are spaced wide enough to allow a person to walk through.  Next to the habitat's entrance are two small beds containing kitchen herbs, such as Lavender, Parsley, Sweet Basil, Oregeno, Saint Junip's Wort, Amarr Chamomile, Rosemary and Spearmint.

A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in and explains:

The Amarr have a long History of colonization, in addition to Reclamation.  There is no room for frivolities in a colonial garden.  Space is at a premium and the crops are necessary to sustain the isolated colony.  Besides providing for nutritional needs, such gardens help to filter and re-oxygenate air and provide biomass, some of which is composted into fertilizer for the next round of crops.  Here, the staple crop is 'corn' but each crop is selected based on the colony's needs.  Often, a household will also keep an herb garden to add flavor to their foods, the beauty of the plants being a beneficial but unnecessary side-effect.

Many of the crops and herbs date back to the dawn of the Empire.  Intrigingly, they can also be found in other civilizations in the cluster, lending support to the common origin theory of the races of humanity.

This type of garden is also typical of those maintained by slaves in their private quarters, where space permits, to supplement their diet and perhaps to give them a small space of their own.

NEF EXHIBITIONS - Kamikawa Ryokan
Aurora Morgan
As you walk through the doors you get an uncanny feeling that you have travelled through time, what on the outside seemed unremarkable on the inside is cozy, cold and distinctly... Achuran.

You are now just ahead of the entrance hall, and you read on a sign available in many languages.

Quote
> We welcome you to the Kamikawa Ryokan, moved
 > to Caille today for your pleasure. It is winter in
 > Kamikawa right now and so we are offering you
 > some of our favorite Achuran winter experiences.
 >
 > You are expected to remove your shoes before
 > stepping in.

A young woman stands by the entrance handing out blankets to those who are interested, she also makes sure no one enters with their shoes on. She smiles at you as you enter the hall.

Hall

In the center of the entrance hall there is a hearth with a coal fire burning. Around it, some Achur who look like staff are boiling water for tea. They are chatting amongst themselves but look inviting. Once in a while, they walk around the room, looking for people who may need a refill or want to order something.

Around the hearth there are traditional kotatsu, tables placed over a charcoal heater in the floor. Around the edges of the tables, a quilt is attached to keep the heat from escaping. Beyond that, there are small rooms for people who want some more privacy.

To your left there's a reception desk with an old man wrapped in a blanket, heating himself on a small fire, he's friendly and chatty, he keeps track of everyone going to the rooms behind him. If you don't have a room for the night yet, he will be more than happy to help you book one. He can also help you get everything ready for you to be able to visit the fake onsen, or hot springs.

If you sit down, you will be brought a menu of traditional Achur winter cuisine.

After the old man has been convinced that you understand the customs, and so on, you find yourself with a set of bathrobes and a towel as you walk out into the baths.

The first station to survive before the warm water is the bathing station, where you are expected to wash, there's a place to leave your clothes and a hot shower and toiletries such as soap and shampoo in a bucket next to it.

After you are clean, you can go into the onsen, but as you get closer you can also feel it getting colder, and as you open the door out, you can feel the full winter cold hit you. But the faux view, over a winter landscape is beautiful, even if you realize that all of it is just a holoprojection.

There's a a wall that separates the women from men, but you can hear the people on the other side if you listen closely.
NEF EXHIBITIONS - Bryillbland a Dagn di Gallenci
Aedre Lafisques
This booth is simple - a plain table, with three folding chairs and a bottle of wine and a stack of glasses. Behind it, to either side of an open space are traditional costumes, male and female. Recogniseably Gallente is the styling, organic curves that make tailoring needlessly difficult and expensive, excessive fabric expertly crafted into folds and pinches to create an effect that recalls rolling ocean waves.

Less familiar to usual Gallente presentation might be the bright, warm colours, though often against black. Men’s suits are as decorated as the womens’, presumably to capture the same attention and highlight movement. While each suit is different, there are similarities; conservative dark pants are offset by coloured, airy shirts with extra material expertly cascading about the collars and down the front. Sleeves are billowy and either tightly cuffed at the wrist with dazzling buttons or with long tails sometimes decorated with a pattern. Meanwhile, dresses are all cut somewhat high on one side, but otherwise range from exposed sleeveless to type of sleeving somewhat similar to the mens’. Some come with elaborate hairpins with the feathers of local birds.

Between the two rows of costumes an open area is equipped with sound equipment and synthetic boards layed down to make a largish square. A lone chair sits in this area as well.
Bright neon lights illuminate the small kiosk, a holoboard scrolls with features, functions, and deals on today's mercandise. Drones from the size of a small phone to that of a softball all crawl, hover, and roll around the kiosk filling the air with wizzing, buzzing, bleeps, and more. Rhoxanne herself stands in the middle, ready to answer questions and fulfill purchases wearing an apron with a myriad of tools down its front. just over her shoulders two unique drones hover and shift with her every movement.

[ 2015.09.27 19:26:59 ] Lyn Farel > *The lights go off for a moment, and the stage secondary lights come back to life, the huge holoscreen behind fading off to black as well*
[ 2015.09.27 19:28:25 ] Lyn Farel > /emote walks up from backstage, and steps up on the dais a bit intimidated but resolute.
[ 2015.09.27 19:28:55 ] Lyn Farel > Greetings all, and thank you again for showing up this evening and making this Fair a r-reality...

 [ 2015.09.27 19:32:57 ] Lyn Farel > /emote waves at Aurora to show up...
[ 2015.09.27 19:33:13 ] Aurora Morgan > /emote walks up to the stage, this time elegantly avoiding anything you could trip on, obviously having scouted this out earlier.
[ 2015.09.27 19:33:32 ] Aurora Morgan > /emote moves up to the mic > Oh… um… we're going to taste a few tastes of A-achura, and learn a bit about Achuran culture, well… one Achuran culture. It is of course-of course not the same everywhere on the planet, especially not in the C-caldari cit...
 [ 2015.09.27 19:33:37 ] Aurora Morgan > *cities.
[ 2015.09.27 19:33:51 ] Aurora Morgan > /emote draws a deep breath, suddenly a bit calmer, and a lot more professional looking. She watches as staff start bringing in small taster platters for everyone ( http://cdn1.buuteeq.com/upload/18808/wagyu_7.jpg.694x0_default.jpg )

[ 2015.09.27 19:35:43 ] Laplamis > /emote waits patiently for a turn at the samples, but appears eager to try.
[ 2015.09.27 19:35:53 ] Lyn Farel > /emote smiles evasively in the shadows, observing the scene with a lot of curiosity.
[ 2015.09.27 19:36:03 ] Aurora Morgan > We prepared some local produce for you and I hope that it will be interesting to you, it's very different from all the other things we have had here, so we included some Gallente touches that we thought would go well with the Achuran ingredients.
 [ 2015.09.27 19:36:30 ] Victoria du Ponte > /emote looks disappointed that it's not purely Achuran.
[ 2015.09.27 19:36:36 ] Ypsilas Suonen > /emote absently accepts the sample, focusing on the presentation.

[ 2015.09.27 19:37:03 ] Aurora Morgan > Oh… I hope you have all got your tasting platters now, there's a salad with seared beef, pickles. Next to it there's two bowls: wasabi soy, and mayonnaise, it goes well with it we think.
[ 2015.09.27 19:37:40 ] Utari Onzo > /emote takes his platter and tucks in to it.
[ 2015.09.27 19:37:48 ] Aurora Morgan > On the leaf in front there's broiled beef with miso seasoning, vegetables, some pickled, some fresh, and to the right there's a local delicacy, it's fish rolled in rice and kelp, then covered in a batter and fried.
 [ 2015.09.27 19:37:57 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote hides neocom, smiling
 [ 2015.09.27 19:38:35 ] Laplamis > /emote appears delighted with the platter's contents.
[ 2015.09.27 19:38:49 ] Aurora Morgan > With it are three kinds of sake, it's a brewed rice drink popular at home.
[ 2015.09.27 19:38:56 ] Aurora Morgan > The one to the left goes well with the beef, the middle one with the sallad, and the last one is a bit more fruity and can be had with the vegetables or just to ease into the taste.
 [ 2015.09.27 19:39:33 ] Skyweir Kinnison > /emote sips each with evident approval
[ 2015.09.27 19:39:58 ] Victoria du Ponte > /emote waits to hear the whole presentation before trying anything
[ 2015.09.27 19:40:03 ] Aurora Morgan > /emote looks around at the people eating, she seems to realize she's been speaking a bit too fast and nervously, but looks happy she doesn't have to speak anymore > I hope you find it a treat.
[ 2015.09.27 19:40:10 ] Lyn Farel > *Slides of images and pieces of video unfold on the screen behind, accompanying the presentation*
 [ 2015.09.27 19:40:34 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote to waiter "Thank you. I have one.)"

[ 2015.09.27 19:43:35 ] Ypsilas Suonen > /emote partakes of the liquor in the same manner.
[ 2015.09.27 19:44:01 ] Aurora Morgan > /emote narrowly avoids catastrophy when her Kimono isn't really as well suited to rushing as she would like > Um... any questions?
 [ 2015.09.27 19:44:08 ] Ypsilas Suonen > /emote a pleasant and mild expression eases onto his face.
 [ 2015.09.27 19:44:22 ] Skyweir Kinnison > /emote raises his arm once again

[ 2015.09.27 19:47:25 ] Skyweir Kinnison > "I'm from a farming family myself, and the beef you presented to us was wonderfully tender. May I ask about the Achuran husbandry practices? Do you allow cattle complete freedom and hunt them, or have a more managed approach?"
[ 2015.09.27 19:49:48 ] Aurora Morgan > Oh... um, we raise them, but yes, Achur beef is quite different... it is known for it's fatty, well-marbled texture. Traditionally the cows were just used as work animals.
[ 2015.09.27 19:50:34 ] Aurora Morgan > But after the Caldari came, there has been a high demand for Achur beef for eating too due to its specific qualities. I think it is a combination of what we feed them, and the genetics, really.
[ 2015.09.27 19:51:10 ] Victoria du Ponte > /emote looks a little tense, but tries the been anyways.
[ 2015.09.27 19:51:34 ] Skyweir Kinnison > /emote nods in understanding. "Thank you. I shall read on the subject further. Most kind." He sits again.

 [ 2015.09.27 19:52:29 ] Aurora Morgan > T-thank you for the question, s-sorry I can't explain more. I'm not an expert on cows.
[ 2015.09.27 19:52:42 ] Victoria du Ponte > /emote has a bajillion questions, but recognizes this isn't the place and just busies herself eating the sampler platter.
 [ 2015.09.27 19:53:07 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote smiles
[ 2015.09.27 19:53:19 ] Laplamis > /emote sips on the sake samples in turn, but seems cautious not to consume much.
 [ 2015.09.27 19:54:21 ] Lyn Farel > Mh... no other questions.. ?

[ 2015.09.27 19:58:25 ] Max Gengod > /emote opens up his neocom and texts another message to  Dominique Saint-Clair "Nice food, isn't it."
[ 2015.09.27 19:59:00 ] Charles Cambridge Schmidt > /emote makes his way on stage, adorned in ironed grey slacks, shined black shoes, a baby blue dress shirt, and a navy blue vest. Complete with black gloves, he looks rather snazzy. He's all smiles as he approaches the speaking stand.

[ 2015.09.27 20:02:19 ] Lyn Farel > *The screen feeds switch to the clothing sets showcased in the  exhibition venue *
[ 2015.09.27 20:03:10 ] Lyn Farel > *A few groans and giggles can be heard among the audience at the joke*
[ 2015.09.27 20:03:40 ] Charles Cambridge Schmidt > Many people don't realize that, in sociocultural anthropology, the history of an empire or civilization can be traced parallel to its fashion.
[ 2015.09.27 20:04:12 ] Charles Cambridge Schmidt > So, that's what she and I strived to showcase: the color of history, the sharp edge of fashion.

[ 2015.09.27 20:08:42 ] Charles Cambridge Schmidt > /emote claps his hands together, eyes browsing over the audience. "After this presentation is over, I will be back at my booth to personally guide anyone who wants to truly experience this 'Culture of Stitches' once more."
[ 2015.09.27 20:09:22 ] Charles Cambridge Schmidt > Other than that, I thank you all once more for attending the New Eden Fair - the turnout is pretty extravagant for a first-year event!
[ 2015.09.27 20:09:49 ] Charles Cambridge Schmidt > /emote smiles, rubbing at the back of his neck. "Anyway, before I make a fool of myself, I'll take my leave. Thank you all for having me."

[ 2015.09.27 20:14:39 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote steps up to the platform in a coloured shirt much like the ones that were on display at his booth. His is blue on the underside of each ruff, but black all over besides. A young lady comes to join him, with crystal-coloured eyes and auburn hair.
[ 2015.09.27 20:15:18 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote She is dressed to match, with a black dress with quarter-length sleeves that drip blue fabric. There is also an unusually tall Vherokior man, with a folding chair who smiles easily, and seems perfectly at ease despite the situation.
[ 2015.09.27 20:16:12 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote moves up to the front of the space laid out. “Ah… Welcome. I’m happy to present here at the N.E.F. I think this sort of thing is… Is the kind of opportunity th-that can ultimately only bring good. The sharing of cultures is the sharing of ideas."

[ 2015.09.27 20:17:10 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote Meanwhile, the Vherokior takes a seat on his chair twoards the back of the area, and crosses his legs. The girl seems defiant, but it might be nerves.
[ 2015.09.27 20:17:50 ] Aedre Lafisques > "I don’t think, too often, people get to see where the Gallente mindset comes from. I’m not really sure we understand it ourselves, most of the time… It’s easier to show things, sometimes, than explain. I’m not the best person to present this..."
[ 2015.09.27 20:18:43 ] Aedre Lafisques > “There are plenty of professionals whose livelihoods are the perfection of the art. I could have payed someone to show you the best. But I don’t think that’s the spirit. I couldn’t really justify it. So, I’ll just show you what I know.”
 [ 2015.09.27 20:18:51 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote listens Aedre Lafisques
 [ 2015.09.27 20:18:56 ] Laplamis > /emote seems a little nonplussed
[ 2015.09.27 20:19:08 ] Aedre Lafisques > "What I knew, before I became a Capsuleer. It’s something I think about, because I’m afraid of forgetting, as I watch it also fade from our consciousness.” He takes a strong position, hands held up and claps once, loudly. He stops looking at the crowd.
[ 2015.09.27 20:19:43 ] Aedre Lafisques > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rO1VDCZh_Ko  His Vherokior friend sitting towards the back begins to clap out a rhythm, with certain beats much louder than others.
[ 2015.09.27 20:20:09 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote layers out a second part, and the result is a complex and enjoyable pattern. His shoes have low heels, and as he begins to move, his heels click out highlights, though this seems to be somewhat improvised.
[ 2015.09.27 20:20:49 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote After some moments, the young lady who stayed swaying to one side steps in, twirling, and begins to clap in time. Some of the steps are aggressive, having both dancers slamming their heels energetically into the floor, but the dance over all has
[ 2015.09.27 20:20:55 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote a light improvisational flavour as they court around each other. Mostly in time, the dance and the music are somewhat built together, stopping and starting for effect.
[ 2015.09.27 20:21:53 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote During the second verse, they dance together, feet lightly taking them in tight circles into the chorus, dipping her dizzyingly quickly before setting them both off again, heels clicking through the Matari’s lead.

[ 2015.09.27 20:23:30 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote As the song winds down, they return to clapping. The girl joins the man in singing though it can't be heard. It seems Aedre remains to shy to do so, happy to concentrate on what he needs to do.
[ 2015.09.27 20:25:04 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote When they finish, she curtsies to Aedre, and moves again to the side.

[ 2015.09.27 20:26:16 ] Lyn Farel > *The silent is quite loud actually during the show, with various reactions, like nods or smiles from the mainly gallente crowd, and surprise or fascination from foreigners*

 [ 2015.09.27 20:27:06 ] Aedre Lafisques > http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2suxy4
[ 2015.09.27 20:27:09 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote The beginning of the next track starts with the sound of rain. He takes batons from his companion and stands towards the middle, preparing to dance again. He looks up at the clear sky as if in sympathy to the track.
[ 2015.09.27 20:27:15 ] Lyn Farel > *The screen seems to now depict various other dances that were obviously not possible to all showcase at the same time*
 [ 2015.09.27 20:27:49 ] Lyn Farel > *All accompanying the main stage..*
[ 2015.09.27 20:27:52 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote (Which at least relieves of him of having to consider his audience.) The intro gives him a moment to gather himself, he turns somewhat and extends his arms to the young lady, who steps up but doesn’t take his hands, which are full.
[ 2015.09.27 20:28:20 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote She curtsies cutely, which makes him smile a little bit. A soft drum beat starts which prompts them both to move at once, in a wide circle about the middle. Now and then they turn themselves around by cues that seem randomly spaced.
[ 2015.09.27 20:29:26 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote The young lady is expressive in her movements, illustrating how conservative Aedre’s motions really are, despite the boisterous nature inherent to the style, even at such a slow pace.
[ 2015.09.27 20:30:13 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote When the music begins with more intensity, they approach, stepping into each others’ patterns and turning away at certain moments again. Though familiar with the dance, it is clear she is less trained, nor a Capsuleer.
[ 2015.09.27 20:30:50 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote She seems somewhat out of breath throughout, but her energy doesn't flag. Lack of precision and athleticism seems to count for somewhat little, as she turns and steps with a different kind of ease, watching him with intense eyes that never waver.
[ 2015.09.27 20:31:20 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote They both raise their hands at a particular cue and she spins while he moves around her. During this, she expressively smiles at him, curtsying again as he comes to rest in front of her.
[ 2015.09.27 20:31:22 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote It seems that she too doesn’t dare to look at the audience despite her more open nature, keeping her eyes on him as she backs away for the next part.
 [ 2015.09.27 20:31:42 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote smiles in hands, looking at the stage
[ 2015.09.27 20:31:53 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote The music picks up again and he drops the batons, which are on thin strings, and begins to spin them. They light up, and paint dazzling images like a holoscreen in their wake, the afterimages like brushstrokes.
[ 2015.09.27 20:32:28 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote The spinning is geometric, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_9kzZ9wI4Y and might appear to Capsuleersnot unlike the many forms of manual and automatic piloting - the orbit of drones around a target or the slingshot of catching a kiter.
[ 2015.09.27 20:33:05 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote He moves very little, letting the speed and complexity of the batons do the dancing, and it almost seems as if they move on their own. When he does change position, it almost seems as though he is moving out of the way, rather than commanding.
 [ 2015.09.27 20:33:10 ] Max Gengod > /emote takes few snapshots using his SPZ-3.
[ 2015.09.27 20:33:34 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote It would seem that Aedre is far more confident in this arena, though it is hard to say if this is due to Capsuleering or personal taste.
[ 2015.09.27 20:33:53 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote Upon the end of the section, he unhooks himself from the batons and puts them down carefully, then turns to the young lady again, this time holding out his hands, which she takes.
[ 2015.09.27 20:34:19 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote They start to dance a third dance, clearly formal again, where the objective seems to be to use as much of the space as possible, bobbing slowly despite the large steps, elegance in the curves they use to change directions.
[ 2015.09.27 20:34:50 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote The contrast in tone between the boisterous communal clapping and the more formal elegance loses none of the grand expressivity between them. The dance, much like the society it comes from, simply requires it.
[ 2015.09.27 20:37:06 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote They float as if boats on waves, which is surely the imagery the gallente take to, describing even the stars as an endless ocean. Aedre seems frozen in concentration all the same, even as they move all over the square.
[ 2015.09.27 20:38:38 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote When the music is finally out, he bows, unwinded but shaky. “--Thank you for coming,” he says, still holding her hand. The Vherokior, has come up to stand and bow himself. “...and thank you for the help today..."
[ 2015.09.27 20:38:53 ] Aedre Lafisques > “Th-this a local thing. My mother had us do it when we were growing up. I didn’t appreciate it then, and not until I left. Growing up here, society had us looking out. Even with our limited worldview, it was still always out.
[ 2015.09.27 20:39:22 ] Lyn Farel > *The public remains silent for a while, then a wide ovation mixed with polite claps fills up the auditorium*
 [ 2015.09.27 20:39:30 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote quietly applauding
 [ 2015.09.27 20:39:58 ] Skyweir Kinnison > /emote raps his knuckles enthusiastically
 [ 2015.09.27 20:40:05 ] Aurora Morgan > /emote applauds gently from the sideline.
 [ 2015.09.27 20:41:06 ] Max Gengod > /emote applauds slightly as well.
[ 2015.09.27 20:41:07 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote smiles a little, nervously. “Thank you...W-we're to make our prejudices or our discoveries on our own, there’s sometimes little value placed on looking in. I included the light dancing because nobody really dances the classical dances anymore..."
[ 2015.09.27 20:41:11 ] Lyn Farel > /emote steps up on the dais again, joining Aedre and bowing to the girl and the vherokior.
[ 2015.09.27 20:41:35 ] Aedre Lafisques > "Because… If it’s not a hybrid, maybe you didn’t try hard enough to see… Maybe that’s appropriative of others, maybe it’s self-hate, maybe it’s political, maybe it’s desperation to have something bigger than oneself..."
[ 2015.09.27 20:41:48 ] Aedre Lafisques > "“To look out and see connectedness... I don’t feel attached to the old dances. But it’s something to see. I hope it’s something that makes us easier to understand, when so few today really connect to the past… Doesn't mean it wasn't there."
[ 2015.09.27 20:42:03 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote seems to lose the rest of his words, and he nods after a moment, clasping his hands. “Thank you for coming to the N.E.F this year. I am honoured to attend."
[ 2015.09.27 20:42:29 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote the pair that joined Aedre bow to Lyn politely.
[ 2015.09.27 20:42:31 ] Lyn Farel > /emote glances uncertainly around the room for questions.
[ 2015.09.27 20:43:22 ] Skyweir Kinnison > /emote raises a hand once again, looking around in case he is seen as monopolising things
 [ 2015.09.27 20:44:01 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote quietly looks at him.
[ 2015.09.27 20:44:33 ] Skyweir Kinnison > Captain Lafisques, thank you for an extraordinary rendition of dance.
[ 2015.09.27 20:45:01 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote 's eyebrows raise, but he doesn't manage to say anything to that.
[ 2015.09.27 20:45:50 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote The vherokior hits him in the back.
[ 2015.09.27 20:45:57 ] Skyweir Kinnison > I'm interested in your further thoughts on form. On Mannar, and in our traditions, form is the very core of ritual dance. Without the set form, it becomes chaos. How does this develop your theme?
[ 2015.09.27 20:47:47 ] Aedre Lafisques > "--Uh - Ah, Thank you, f-firstly. F-form is inherant in all formal st-styles of dance. I think rythym forms the core of Bryillbland, and the dancing is evolutionary. The way you clap is key. There is a trick to it."
[ 2015.09.27 20:48:34 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote Somewhat fearlessly, the Vherokior demonstrates. Even without the microphones, it's quite loud.
 [ 2015.09.27 20:49:00 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote hears some whispers behind her back
[ 2015.09.27 20:49:36 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote is kind of startled by it. "--As for the ballroom dancing. It's...  It's a form that is more Imperial. It's highly structured, but it's made to look easy. Th-the steps for that are a little difficult. We practiced a lot..."
[ 2015.09.27 20:50:14 ] Aedre Lafisques > "It was somewhat ritualistic in that time period. It's a court dance."
[ 2015.09.27 20:50:46 ] Skyweir Kinnison > /emote nods. "Yet do you not seek to communicate through the art? I recognise that we Mannar are seen sometimes as too conservative - the 'imperial' set you mention seemed most familiar - but is not all dance for communication?"
[ 2015.09.27 20:52:01 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote smiles a little, and seems to be mostly trying not to blank on what he knows. "Dancing itself is communication, yes. I think... Dancing speaks with the music. You can't really separate them. I find this to be true all the time. B-but that's me."
[ 2015.09.27 20:52:51 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote tries to focus on the question. "--S-so yes... I hope it communicated something. Mostly, I dance for myself, these days. Ah. expression. Dancing is a mode of expression."
[ 2015.09.27 20:53:30 ] Skyweir Kinnison > /emote bows formally. "Fascinating. It has been a privilege, sir." He sits once again.
[ 2015.09.27 20:54:38 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote seems unsure if he managed to answer anything. He looks at his tall friend, who seems to indicate not to worry subtly. "Uh- Thank you."
 [ 2015.09.27 20:55:05 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote smiles
[ 2015.09.27 20:55:21 ] Lyn Farel > *A visibly Amarr official, Kor-Azor colours maybe, stands up and raises his hand respectfully*
[ 2015.09.27 20:55:58 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote seems surprised to have another question, though his friend continues to be unfazed.  "Yes?"
[ 2015.09.27 20:56:33 ] Ibrahim Tash-Murkon > /emote walks, and quitely takes a seat which forms to his perfect physique.
[ 2015.09.27 20:57:38 ] Lyn Farel > *Thank you my good sir... We watched with fascination, especially that imperial style, and... we wondered, what do you think marks the differences between our own erm... Amarr imperial modern dancing styles, and yours ?*
[ 2015.09.27 20:58:19 ] Lyn Farel > *More to the point, do you think they try to communicate similar aspects ?*
[ 2015.09.27 20:59:44 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote cocks his head a little bit.  "I think that's a historical question. The Garoun Empire has passed. Some people have a romantizied vision of it still. In a lot of ways any structures we have today come from then..."
[ 2015.09.27 21:00:37 ] Aedre Lafisques > "I think they are different, were different. I don't think though, that people in general are so different. There is very -- a lot of layers on top of people. It's culture. Our culture has changed a lot even from then. People change a lot."
[ 2015.09.27 21:00:50 ] Aedre Lafisques > "...So... It's interesting to see what stays the same. What is common."
[ 2015.09.27 21:01:54 ] Lyn Farel > *The official nods and sits back down*
[ 2015.09.27 21:01:55 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote seems a tad skittish, but answers the question with a rolling momentum of fear and belief.
[ 2015.09.27 21:02:59 ] Lyn Farel > /emote hesitates a bit before taking her turn... "Thank you Mr Lafisques..."
 [ 2015.09.27 21:03:24 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote nods a bit stiffly.
[ 2015.09.27 21:03:44 ] Lyn Farel > "T-thank you all of you... We hope that those presentations will close on a bright note that Fair..."
 [ 2015.09.27 21:03:55 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote barely audible applause Aedre Lafisques
[ 2015.09.27 21:04:26 ] Lyn Farel > /emote follows meekly and applauds, which seems to initiate others in the public to do so as well.
 [ 2015.09.27 21:04:58 ] Skyweir Kinnison > /emote raps strongly
 [ 2015.09.27 21:05:21 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote does a pretty good job of not fleeing immediately.
[ 2015.09.27 21:05:27 ] Laplamis > /emote claps along with the audience, looking over the crowd.
[ 2015.09.27 21:05:38 ] Ibrahim Tash-Murkon > /emote claps politely, having no clue what is going on yet.
[ 2015.09.27 21:06:06 ] Lyn Farel > /emote scratches her head nervously. ".. That said now, we invite you all to uh... come dancing in the Garden of Ms Daphiti, who infortunately was not able to attend those presentations..."
[ 2015.09.27 21:06:06 ] Ypsilas Suonen > /emote blinks his glazed eyes and straightens up in his seat.
[ 2015.09.27 21:07:29 ] Lyn Farel > "We hope that this informal uh.. party will turn out to be a good way to end the Fair in a good mood!"
 [ 2015.09.27 21:07:35 ] Dominique Saint-Clair > /emote smiles slightly
 [ 2015.09.27 21:07:56 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote smiles at this, despite nerves.
 [ 2015.09.27 21:08:35 ] Lyn Farel > /emote bows deep.
 [ 2015.09.27 21:08:57 ] Aedre Lafisques > /emote and his party follow suit.
[ 2015.09.27 21:09:00 ] Lyn Farel > /emote steps down while the lights come back to life again.

Thanks again for putting this together, and to all the exhibitors for their presentations. I did a little reconnoitering on Saturday and sent an RP newbie friend on Sunday - hopefully everyone had a good time.
