Post your Corp Ranks!

I found myself curious of the other rank systems in RP corps. I'd like to know what sorts of flavors you'd have for your ranking systems, especially some of the pirate factions and such. To start with, I'll post the RDC I-RED list of ranks and their translated meanings.

Flag Officers
Taisho - Admiral
Chujo - Vice Admiral
Shosho - Rear Admiral

Senior Officers
Taisa - Captain*
Chusa - Commander
Shosa - Lieutenant Commander

Junior Officers
Taii - Lieutenant*
Chui - Sub-Lieutenant
Shoi - Acting Sub-Lieutenant

We don't have a visual representation of the ranks right now, but that's something I've been looking into personally. Anyways, I'm curious to see how other RP corporations made their ranks and such.
We already know there is a mis-translation of the ranks Taisa and Taii. The system is based off the Imperial Japanese Navy (loosely) of WWII, I believe, and Taii and Taisa should be Daii and Daisa. Using a 'T' indicates an Army rank, not a Naval rank.
Pre-lim idea's for corp ranks... Sorted from lowest to highest.

Cabin boy's - Entry level position, everyone is a cabin boy at one point or another.

Shellbacks - Proven Pilots, promoted from Cabin Boy's, these pilots will be regular members

Golden Shellbacks - Above and beyond pilots, think employee of the month status. Title will rotate between players as needed.

Powder Monkeys - Similar to a striker, but around these people, fights just seem to be generated at a whim. They have the gift for pew.

Strikers - Solo artists, similar to a Powder Monkey, but these people like to operate alone, mysterious breed those Strikers.

Quartermasters - Director/CEO level position, democratic appointment only.

BONUS POSITION

"Plank Owners" - Initial Corp members. First 5-15 not sure how many, there will never be more, will have access to the Plank owners hangar, and will retain this title even if they leave the corp at some time and come back.

There are only two ranks in GHSC, Operations and Operative. Operative is split into sub-categories based on what the guy does, assuming he's good at something - this can be "Valentine Operative" for intra-personal relations, "Terror Operative" for hostile psy-ops, etc. You generally only get a special operative title after doing something awesome. Operations or ops chiefs are the guys who sign contracts, assemble guys for jobs, and plan the big picture.

We, LDIS, have Executives, Project Managers, and Employees.   It is very easy for people to move between Employee and Project Manager; Executives are more limited - they get a lot of access.  But we also are not modeled on a military architecture.

On the corps I've been, we've usually gone way too far with ranks. Trying to learn from this, Aseyakone has actually rather simple three-tier structure (junior engineer / senior engineer / manager). Admitted, there's a placeholder role ("employee") for recent hires and absent folks and then executive directors/C-levels (of which we currently have two, myself and Saana, the CEO) having unique roles.

And assuming we had a security division, we'd map junior officer (ensign/lieutenant) ranks into "junior engineer" level position, roughly staff officer ranks (lieutenant commander/commander) into "senior engineer" and captain & commodore into "manager" level. The dormant "combat wing" seems to top off with the security director titled "captain".

How was that old anecdote, "if three Amarr roleplayers find a corp, one of them becomes a Lord, one of them becomes an Admiral and the third becomes a Bishop"?

We don't really have ranks in SKDI, as there aren't enough of us to bother. Basically, Ava runs the corp, and Kala does the alliance stuff. Everyone else does what we tell them :)

We simplified things a few months back...

Ensign - newbies
Lieutenant - the standard rank for the rank-and-file
Commander - Lieutenants who have taken on additional responsibilities or know their stuff
Captain - Commanders who have taken on even more responsibility
Commodore - people who do the day to day running of stuff
Admiral - directors

Rodj, I like that better than the old grades of guardian, senior guardian, master guardian... etc... Sometimes it seemed like we had more ranks than people.

Sounds like PIE has revamped it's revamp, then, back to what it was in my days. *nostalgia*

For my corp (even though it's just me and my protégée atm):
Exemplar - CEO
Ardent - Seconds-in-command
Loyalist - Rank & File
Selectee - Newbies

Of course, I view DEIGN as more of an entity than a corp, an organization one can belong to without having to be in the actual corporation.

Also, it's good to see you back, Karmilla.

I-RED isn't far off of what Omerta had when it was active, but that's probably because Leon is Japanese and an encyclopedia of war knowledge.

We have a creative rank structure but it doesn't really matter to outsiders: we're basically just CEO -> Directors -> Officers (those who FC a lot) -> Meatshields.

The one thing that Vince (the guy who Finnish-ized our ranks) did is made my character the "family mistress." Guess that's what I get for merging my corp into Veto and having a female avatar. >_<

With the Intaki Liberation Front, we've gone through a number of systems over the years. At one point we had an extensive naval rank structure and breakdowns of pilots into wings, flights, squadrons, and groups.  So you could have been a lieutenant in red group of eagle squadron in alpha flight of gold wing. The chart to keep track of it all was mind boggling and, with pilot turnover and drop outs, keeping all slots filled was beyond tedious.

A year or so ago, we revised things and ended up with this:

Saxon sits at the top of the pyramid as the Suresha which translates loosely as "respected leader"
AncientGuardian is the second in command with the title Mahesha or "leader of leaders"
Sakaane and Apollonius are the Isha (leader) of the combat and industrial divisions, respectively.
Under Sakaane there are two subdivisions, the Aditipala (translates loosely as freedom fighters) who are combat oriented and the Karna (translates as those who listen) who are spec. ops. These groups have Pashas who are command level members and pasha-jun who are sub-commanders. Beneath them are the Abiya, who are experience pilots and the entry level pilots are called Kacha.

Apollonius oversees the mining department called the Pankaja (born from rocks) and the manufacturing department called the Vidya (those with knowledge). Entry level pilots don't have a title, but can progress to foremen and eventually become superintendents.

In reading over this, I don't know that we actually simplified things, but it works for us and we're keeping it for now.
