So what's going on here, anyways? Apparently Angel Cartel live events?  Details for those of us stuck at work, please?

I was asploded. Angels raided a research outpost. Bunch of people showed up to stop them. Angels didn't find what they were looking for, but got out safe.

CCP Affinity said on twitter that the first little while will be on their work hours since they want to gel the new Live Events team before experimenting with sleep deprivation.

Please tell me they have some mechanics at work for these?

If it's just 'shoot this pile of NPCs we sat out here earlier', it would quickly shave the excitement off of an otherwise optimistic occurrence.

My only concern at this point is lack of interaction. They seemed to be going by a script, which while fine, simply begs the question why didn't they just spawn some NPCs.

From what I read on Twitter, it was more of a dry run to get their team working together. So, we'll see how this evolves. Every event series starts off rough. This was rather clean and efficient.

I log in, half the corp has blown up my inbox with requests for a "formal intelligence product" on this event. Missioning in Venilen appears to have been postponed for tonight. :roll:

To see some dev talk of late come to fruition would be very welcome. I hope they are aware of how much we want them to succeed.

Props to the Live Event team for pulling it off.

'Finally' one could say, but considering my own time estimation for when we would be seeing Live Events again was "half a year to never" I am pleasently surprised.

Also, great document, Cmdr. Baxter. Hopefully somebody can do the outraged and/or horrified RP instead of me. :|

Ah, they corrected the system name of the last remaining vault to Bogelek in Heimatar.

CCP is improving.

EDIT: A 0.4 low sec system; a perfect place for an event.

Now that I look at it, I see it is one of my old gas hunting grounds. Rather quiet area except for Gusandal which is home to various pirate groups.

Was worried we'd be seriously under-equiped. The Empire folks had brought a boatload of ships the last time. I Was hoping I'd have more time to consolidate my meager forces, and when the Syne people showed up in a bunch of battlecruisers it looked pretty bad. Then the dev actors rocked up to the station in 5 machariels loaded with 1400s, and just started blowing the Empire people away.

I'm unlikely  to ever get to take part in these, but I'm still glad to see them again - felt a bit dry and dead after the Incursion events died down.

Having said that as glad as I am to see this I've heard a (unconfirmed AFAIK) claim that all the event actors fly Machariels (to be expected) pimped with officer/dead space gear... ( :eek: :psyccp: :bash:)

If that's the case... CCP, wtf were you thinking? Don't fly pimped machs around, that will draw even bigger groups of null-bear folks and blooby low-sec people that won't be there for the events (they won't give a shit) they will be there to get the fat loot and the kill-board padding. Rich and arrogant people don't need more isk and ego-boosting. Use T2 named/T1 instead, please.

Events should be about the events themselves, not another Farming Welfare initiative.

Actors ships are t2 fit and using RF ammo, so nothing bling-y, they didn't use anything super bling-y in the incursion events either. No plexes or anything stashed on the actors ships so far either.

The most I've seen was one event in the Incursion precursor where the actor had TS warp scrambler and webifier, I think?

That was the only instance of a non-T2 fitted actor ship that I've seen. The developer caravans are the ones that get pimped normally.
