Looks like more of Fallout 3?

Once was enough for me, but you all have a lovely trip through the wasteland :)

Am hype.

Yeah, the Commonwealth was hinted at in prior games. Looks like MIT and mandroids will be prominent. I've been looking for lore mentions of Vault 111 but no dice so far.

EDIT: looks like Vault 111 was a Vault-Tec cryostasis experiment, based on VA casting notes.

That it's set in Boston is going to be the only reason I'll play it, most likely. :P

Lagging Behind

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

That it's Fallout is the only reason I'll be playing it - and buying the DLC... *sob* I'm weak.

I don't buy into the fallout 1/2 vs 3 fanboy fighting camps, it's possible to like different things, but I do prefer the feel of the originals vs the new ones.

My issues with #3 were more about Bethesda. It's absolutely a Bethesda RPG and that comes with all of the pros and cons of what they do.  If you like their take on quests and NPCs etc then this will be more of that.  They sell pretty well so it looks like they hit a good sweet spot of RPGish and FPSish combo game. I did like a number of things about part 3, but it was a very mixed game for me.

Looks like they are using gamebryo engine again though? Maybe that makes it easier to release multi-platform without too much downscaling? I don't know the right words.

DLC and commercial publishers deserve their very special own threadnaught.  :)

The engine should be Creation, which I believe is Bethesda's homebrew of Gamebryo. I expect it will be tweaked upward from Skyrim to a place that's comfortable for XB/PS.

The skyrim engine had a lot of legs in the pc mod scene yea? Lots of up-rezzing and tricks to make it purdy-ier and shini-ier?

Very much so, likely we will see the same here as modders continue to get better working with it.

Also as much as I didn't care about Skyrim they did have the thomas the tank engine dragon mod, which means the entire game was worth it to fund and create.

I'm usually quite skeptical about four years of professional work being 'improved' by some bunch of amateurs by tweaking some data files. Skyrim's Mod community made me sit down and shut the fuck up.

They made it beautiful, IMO.

I must admit, the e3 presentation for FO4 made me sit down, pay attention and smile... a lot...  :cube:

all the customs....
including your own settlement....

now... I really hope it's anywhere near as good as it seems... do want to make my own little hillfort in the boston suburbs...

complete with traders, fortifications and more turrets and traps than you can shake a stick at. :P

in other news, damnit bethseda... why no droid shelter? *grumbles*
