London after Fanfest?

Hey guys!

So-- I'm going to Fanfest for the first time, ever! Hurrah! And I'm also going to then bum over to London for a week to see the sights, play tourist, and drink warm beer. So-- what are the must-sees? And do any of you have hostel or hotel recommendations? I'll be backpacking, so I can wander off to other locales if there are strong recommendations.

At present, I know I need to explore the Tate Modern. Beyond that...?

If you have any interest in nature or history I strongly suggest wandering down to the Natural History and British Museums. Natural History is very nature/history of studying nature based, as you would expect. British museum is more science and human history focused. If you can only get to one, I would recommend the British. It's free!

SCIENCE MUSEUM

I had such good memories there from when dad used to take me, so a little biased here.

Thanks for the recommendations so far! And good to know on all the various museums. ;) So-- should I expect each to take a day? Or to be able to hit them all in a? Or...? I've got about a week to burn, so want to make sure that I'm not spending all my time in the museums, however grand. ;)

Also, are there any particular neighborhoods that generally aren't good for a ramble about?

Also also, Halcy. Why Greenwich? :x

It's beautiful, it has the Cutty Sark, the observatory I think? and also a delicious open food market

Head to Brick Lane for a curry. If you've read From Hell, look out for places you recognise...
