So EVE's allowing three-word names now..
« on: 22 Jun 2013, 20:45 »

...or are these the 'dev actors' I've been hearing about?

When did this start?

Might be worth starting an alt account just for a really cool name.

If you mean like "James Guy Bob" or something. I think its that you can have a space in the first line.

Or a space in the last line, I think ... the two text entry fields get strung together anyway.

I believe three word names have been a thing for a while now.

Came in with Incursion and the new character creator, as best I remember.

I like the implications of Gallentians being punched in the face by walking up to a Minmatar as they so freely use another person's culture as a fad.

Three word names is only half of what I need.

I will not rest until I can be Lady Makkal the Younger of Clan Hanaya.

So long as you realize that in pvp, the enemy FC will just refer to you as L-A-D..  Maybe as Lady if there're no other L names in your fleet.

Without knowing the details of your background...

Clan sounds very minmatar, for Khanid wouldn't 'House' be more appropriate?

I don't know. The Khanid do seem to have a heavy Mongol flavour to them and, IIRC, where tribal nomads when first contacted by the Islanders that went on to conquer Athra. So maybe Clan is still relevant? Especially for those cranky buggers in the Kingdom who like to tweak the mainstream Empire's collective nose from time to time.

Well, lore says that the Kingdom adheres to most of the same traditions and customs as the Empire, and the Khanid Family is still called the Khanid Family.

But then, Kingdom Holders are given a lot more independence, and so I'm sure if Makkal's House wants to call themselves a Clan and use Lord/Lady for non-titled members of that family, there's nothing stopping them.

They can call themselves pancakes for all I care. I was just wondering the choice of that particular word, as in general wizard hat folk tend to associate 'clan' as inherently matari term.

Speaking of the Kingdom, it is far more extremist as well compared to Amarr. So, while given more freedom in theory, I doubt many of them would desire to deviate from the norm, that is a quick way to be ostracized among nobility after all. If you dig deep enough to the Kingdom lore they are also one of the more vicious factions in the game, making Amarr seem liberal in their practices.

In the end, whatever rocks your boat v0v
