If you aren't up to date on Game of Thrones then avoid.

If you did watch last night's episode, or know what happens, you might find this youtube compilation of reactions hilarious.

Yeah, so, my own reaction was something very much like that.

While I was reading the scene in the book.

Yea I think in the show they did a bit too much 'foreboding' leading up to things, if I recall when I read that part of the book it just HAPPENED like HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON.  I think I noticed a much 'darker' leading up to things on the episode.

Hopefully everyone stays dead on the TV show.

Going to be a prick, but the HBO version is pretty bland in comparison.

The first few books were well done but the later ones suffer from serious bloat. I suspect that the TV show will maintain pacing a bit better as the director can't say, 'We're just going to have this season be one-and-half times longer than the previous one.'

Likewise, they're not going to have an entire season where [retracted], [retracted], and [retracted] don't show up. At this point, they're the main characters.

Yeah, book 4 and 5 were extremely boring at times. Transitional books, may I hope ? :/

What's the deal with the dragon lady? I don't watch or read any of this, but she's the only character I remotely care about.

Without even looking at the video - may I assume they got to the Red Wedding? That's typically what produces the most "...wait, what the !@)(!(@*&#&* ?!" reactions from GoT fans.

Yea the video is 6 minutes of ... video of people watching that scene not knowing what's going to happen and freaking the hell out. It's all kinds of hilarious.

ye

Apparently they hooked her up with some closet kidnapper/rapist and she has Stockholm syndrome?

Heard this a few weeks ago and I got real bent out of shape about it, but I can't figure out the story to see if that's the actual case.

Yep. Pretty much the point where Martin shows that this is not your momma's gritty fantasy, and despite a superficial resemblance to Santa Claus, he's a cold, hard motherf*cker who thinks nothing of dashing your dreams on storm-wracked cliffs.

No.

Her brother married her off to a warlord in exchange for an army, but the warlord ended up killing the brother. Said warlord's army was a band of raping, pillaging horseriders.

Dragon Lady saves a healer from being raped by the warlord's men and the healer kills the warlord and makes Dragon Lady barren.

During the funeral, Dragon Lady walks into the pyre with a group of dragon eggs but instead of dying, the flames don't touch her and the eggs hatch. She then takes control of the warlord's army and heads west to claim her throne.

She thinks of the warlord fondly, but he's been dead for... three books now? She's busy conquering cities, being a queen, and taking care of three very large, very hungry dragons.

Dragon Lady is 14 when she marries the warlord so their sexual relations qualify as statutory rape. This is because GRRM has his characters kill their first man at 10 and be hardened killers by 14. In the TV series, they've made all the kid characters older.
