Trebor Daehdoow is Robert Woodhead, the designer of the Wizardry games.  He has been on the CSM for the past two years.
Well considering I've never even heard of Wizardry before...

There might be some confusion as to what the CSM actually is and its impact on game design.

Yep, they are not supposed  to participate in gamedesign or anything.

They are supposed to just sort player feedback out and offer a synthesis of it to the CSM.

My first issue is that the first one is what they always try to do.

My second issue is that even if they do the second, true part of their job, I am not sure that I want someone to "triage" my feeback for me. I can perfectly voice it on the forums on the proper avenues.

So no, the CSM is mostly a PR joke to make players happy (especially the loudest ones or nullsec lobbies).

Yes.  Bread and Circuses.

*sigh* None of the candidates in Votematch are in favour of more focus on Incarna development. A good portion of them want less focus on Incarna. Less?! Is that even possible?
I mostly look for people who understand that they should represent all players, so most candidates who think their opinions are important are not for me.
But I don't see any candidate whose understanding of RP related stuff in EVE matches mine. Roc Wieler is not in Votematch though, so it looks like he's gonna get my vote just for being a RP-er, even though I don't currently know if his understanding is any better.

Mike Azariah(sp) is also an RPer, although a rather low key one. And I believe Malcanis supports incarna development.

Mike was the top ranking candidate for me in vote match, but his stance and comment on Incarna development disqualified him, sadly. He would otherwise get my vote for sure.

Malcanis is for Incarna long-term, now mostly wants better communication about the project. I don't think he ranked high in the order in Votematch, but I do like his answers on rp/lore related subjects, so I will check him out some more.

I wish I could mash the 2 together though, that would be nearly perfect, apart from the Incarna standpoint.

I would vote Malcanis, if I could. He seems to understand the greater picture of Eve in much the same way as me.

While WiS is certainly the item I would want the most, I am also dreadfully aware that CCP have messed it up completely and the Incarna engine likely never will be able to support multiple players in the same instance. For WiS to happen, they need to start all over (again). And I do not expect that within the first many years.

I am not sure that they would develop WoD with the same engine if it was fundamentally flawed like that.

You do know you can vote for up to 14, right?

Is it just me, or does the election seem a bit stacked towards null sec alliances?

It's not just you, it's very likely that this CSM is going to be dominated by Nullsec groups. So I would recommend voting for the people who are not big bloc candidates, and have ideas that you agree with.

Even if you agree with the nullbloc groups, they don't actually need your vote  :P

According to the news linked in this eve-o post (and not refuted by CCP) World of Darkness no longer uses the Carbon engine. I am guessing poor performance with handling multiple avatars as one of the major reasons. Further, that so called "prototype" that CCP presented appears in no way feasible with the current Carbon character engine, so if they are determined to take that path, a new engine is required.

Personally, I think the prototype is a piece of hogwash and just an excuse to not bother with WiS. I cannot comprehend how instanced arena battles in anyway resemble PvP combat normally found in Eve. Also, I am convinced people will still try to ignore the combat element of these instanced arenas and instead use them for other kind of social interaction. Social interaction* is an element that CCP is vastly underestimating the potential gain from.

*: By social interaction I mean something else than jerks trying to cause each other grief.

ADD: Mr. Kidd from Center for Advanced Studies appears to have come to the same conclusion as me.
